FoofFighter · 07/09/2017 19:40

Loving the 5 ingredients show so far :) haven't got the book yet though

I'd like to ask, I made a recipe of yours years ago, a duck, orange and pasta recipe - that I can't find again - which book was it in please??

Also I know you've stopped saying pukka so much, I didn't mind it tbh - but please, no more WAFFER!

FoofFighter · 07/09/2017 19:41

Sorry that wasn't an on topic question but it's been bugging me for more than 5 years!

HolyMerlot · 07/09/2017 20:08

This is going to sound so desperate and so full of lies, but honestly, my girlfriend absolutely loves Jamie and asks for one of his books every Birthday and Christmas so has built up quite the collection and is on her way to owning all of the books he's ever released! None of them are signed though! Wink I'd take and attach a picture of her collection that is proudly on display but she's currently sat in the same room as them catching up on 5 Ingredients on TV (genuinely!) while I popped upstairs to scroll through mumsnet shower! We even cooked one his recipes tonight! (Quick crispy chicken with tomatoes and asparagus)

The 5 Ingredients Book is already on her Christmas list for this year and I know it would absolutely blow her mind if I managed to get her a signed copy! Please make me the best girlfriend ever this Christmas HaloHaloHalo I'd be sure to let her know how amazing Mumsnet are and that I really owe the great gift to them Grin Thanks Mumsnet!

Wellysocksbox · 07/09/2017 20:25

What's your favourite sugar-free / grain free biscuit?

BlackJesus · 07/09/2017 20:42

I'd ask him why he thinks he's entitled to speak on breastfeeding issues

Josiah · 07/09/2017 20:55

What's your favourite cheese?

P.S. I completely agree with your stance on breastfeeding.

“It's easy, it's more convenient, it's more nutritious, it's better, it's free.”

Those Mango chutney, chilli and egg flatbreads are amazing. My goodness, they're good...

TitsalinaBumSqoosh · 07/09/2017 22:02

5 ingredients book is fab! I'm working my way through it, the lamb chops are so tasty!

If you were stranded on an island and had 5 ingredients to make a meal with Jamie what do you wish they were?

If you could give me a good 5 ingredient meal with Red lentils that would be great! Smile

FoofFighter · 07/09/2017 22:06

Have thought of an on topic question now :D

Jamie can you recommend something to encourage my pea averse 4yo to like them a bit more please? Has to be dairy free

TellMeItsNotTrue · 07/09/2017 22:20

I would love an idea for dried split peas, I never seem to be able to cook them properly and it's frustrating me! Oh and we are vegetarian so a veggie or adaptable recipe if possible Halo not that I'm being cheeky or anything Wink

NewDaddie · 07/09/2017 23:02

@BlackJesus after 5 children I would hope so. Hmm

I'd love JO to recommend something rich in calcium and Vitamin D for our 12mo dd that her mummy and daddy can enjoy too.

Dd favourite foods are broccoli, cauliflower and Basa so we usually have those in the fridge.

amprev · 07/09/2017 23:15

Vegan child-friendly recipes would be great. Jamie's vegan recipes have made the transition much easier for me but I still haven't cracked it with making meals that the children enjoy too.

NYConcreteJungle · 08/09/2017 00:35

Do you earn money from endorsing artificial sweeteners?

mermaidsandunicorns · 08/09/2017 00:39

Hi Jamie!!!

I am so proud of your work in changing school dinners.
I love that my kids aren't fed rubbish when they go to school.
However now my youngest son has gone into year 3 the cost of dinners for him now passes to me.
As I am on a really tight budget what tips do you have for a nutritious but low cost packed lunch please.

Just wanted to say that we ate at one of JOs restaurants last weekend. The kids menu was leagues above anything I've ever seen elsewhere. If I'm being picky then why were the ice lollies at the end so big - please add a mini version, but otherwise it was great.

LittleFriendSusan · 08/09/2017 08:05

I haven't got this book yet but have been enjoying the TV series so far. Some of your previous cookbooks are amongst the most used in my kitchen so will probably add this one to my collection at some point!

Can't make the webchat, but would appreciate any suggestions for very quick nutritious weeknight meals to feed 2 hungry teenagers before sports training? Needs to be prepped & eaten in about half an hour max! Or able to be mostly prepared the night before. One is pretty fussy and won't eat cheese or creamy sauces, the other not keen on tomatoey sauces but will eat them reluctantly... Stir fries not v popular either.

SillyMoomin · 08/09/2017 08:05

Rock on Jamie, always loved you from your naked chef days Smile

5 ingredients....

Raspberries
Maple syrup
Eggs
Greek yoghurt
Chocolate

nicolasturgeonGRTRtheresamay · 08/09/2017 08:31

Do you regret pushing junk food to the middle classes in adverts (and earning a fortune) while simultaneously trying to ban similar items in schools?

WeatherDependent · 08/09/2017 08:57

I have a 5 ingredient challenge (well it's fridge clear out day) - there's actually 7 listed but you can choose 5 Wink

Roast ham
Sour cream and chive dip
Mackerel
Spinach
Tomato salsa dip
Onions (not in fridge but lurking in the cupboard)
Chicken

I did have a few ideas but as you're the expert, I do also have pasta and potatoes kicking about.

Over to you - my DCs will be over the moon that Jamie Oliver 'cooked' tea!

Jg1 · 08/09/2017 09:02

Merhaba Jamie, I live in Turkey but still manage to keep up with your shows and am loving the 5 ingredients concept. So, mine are;

Peanuts
Fresh green figs (from the tree outside)
Strained yoghurt
Black mulberry extract
Bread

Smile
ChanningsPony · 08/09/2017 09:22

My DD is dyslexic and I wanted to say a quick thanks for being so public about your dyslexia. I agree with you, I think she is very lucky and gifted rather than at a disadvantage. Thank you.

cowgirlsareforever · 08/09/2017 09:33

I really like your books, especially Save with Jamie. I know you took a lot of stick over it bit I have found that the recipes, together with shopping at a budget supermarket have been very cost effective.

My ingredients are
two pieces of gammon,
onions,
Yoghurt
Broccoli
Potatoes.
