@MothersGrim

What would be your biggest tips for a 13 year old for good skin care for life?

This is such a good, helpful question! I think the first thing is to be aware! Always cleanse the skin morning and night - get into the habit like brushing teeth. Use a creamy cleanser - never anything that foams on the face. Look for plant oils as ingredients, not mineral oils. Develop an interest (buy them a good skin book!!) and learn to read the labels. I was given my first book age 13 by my Grandmother, Bronwen Meredith's Vogue book of Beauty and this sparked a lifelong love for me. Hope this helps X

@ThomasHardyPerennial

Hello Liz! I absolutely adore all the botanical essences - such gorgeous perfumes.

My question is: which products are you most proud of creating? Thank you.

So pleased you love the perfumes - they are special as they are over 90% naturally derived (some even higher) compared to the industry average of 100% synthetic - or maybe 5-10% natural - so I am really proud of creating these, and at such an affordable price too. Obviously Cleanse & Polish will be right up there - probably on my tombstone - and I am very proud that this has won over 100 awards and accolades - and that it has helped so many with their skin. My proudest creations are my 5 children though, obvs ;)

@JAB2012

Hi Liz Do you have any advice for getting rid of small broken capillaries around the nose?

Really hard once a blood vessel has broken. I like sclerotherapy - injections of saline using a tiny needle - that permanently removes. Needs to be done by a qualified dermatological nurse - worth it if it bothers you a lot. Also good for thread veins on the legs too. Hope helpful X

@TribbleTrouble

Hi Liz

Why did you stop making my favourite eye cream? I've used your eyecream with spf in it for years and suddenly it's been discontinued and replaced for one thats twice the price and no spf.

I love your products, but I'm rather upset over the loss of my eye cream.

Newer research has shown that SPF's really need to be used separately to be most effective, so don't rely on one in an eyecream for protection, but always add separately. The new Superskin eye cream is actually a better formulation that the original Daily Eye Repair, which sadly not enough customers were buying to make viable to continue. @mavornia

Hi Liz Are you an advocate of supplements and vitamins? I'm mid-thirties and wondered if there are any in particular that you recommend? Thanks

Do you know, I used to be, but I really do think we need to eat better for our nutrients and not reply so much on supplements. Obviously they can be helpful - folic acid for newly pregnant mums-to-be, Floridix or similar for anaemia, Calcium and Vit D for bone density etc. but I think we need to look to everyday foods to nourish us. I do take fish oil suplements as I don't eat as much oily fish as I should and I also take probiotics as my NEXT book is all about Gut Health - and this is SO very fascinating... Thanks for your Q.

X

@SavoyCabbage

Ive always been confused about the skin around my eyes. I know there are eye creams but do you put them just under your eye or on the lid as well? And are you supposed to put it on in the morning under make up?

Hello! Eye creams are really for the skin around the orbital bone around the eye area (eg eye socket) so not the eyelid (can cause puffiness if use all over the eye). Yes, morning over your moisturiser but under make-up (unless its directions say otherwise, which a specific formula might) and also at night too if you like. I also use an eye cream on my lips and rub any extra onto the backs of my hands. Hope this is helpful, do head to lizearlewellbeing.com for more info X

@RachelMumsnet

Question come in from Karen Maclellan on Facebook: 'What can I do to reduce open pores?'

Very hard as they have no muscles so don't expand or contract. You can temporarily reduce their appearance with gentle astringents such as witch hazel. the Liz Earle Brightening Treatment is also excellent.

@RachelMumsnet

From Tracy Anne on Facebook: "What would you recommend for an all over body scrub?"

Why not try making your own! I have lots of recipes on lizearlewellbeing.com and also obviously recipes in my new book SKIN - but a skin scrub is possibly the simplest thing to make with equal parts of sugar (granulated for the body, caster for the face) with grapeseed or almond oil (or any light flavourless oil), with a drop or two of your favourite essential oil to add a lovely scent. Apply to dry skin, massage well and rinse off (take care in the shower as the oil can make surfaces slippery). Hope you enjoy - let me know! LizX
