We’re inviting you to put your questions to The Body Coach, Joe Wicks who will be joining us for a webchat on Thursday 9 June, 12 - 1pm.

Joe Wicks’ first book of the Shift, Shape and Sustain series, Lean in 15 went straight to Number 1 where it held the top spot for 10 weeks and introduced thousands of readers to his method of shifting body fat by eating more and exercising less. In the second book in the series, Lean in 15: The Shape Plan Joe introduces new meals which are designed to speed up metabolism, making fat burning even faster. The book incorporates Joe's home work out exercise programme which is aimed at "building lean muscle and shaping a fit, lean and strong body".

Got a question for Joe? Join the webchat on Thursday at midday when he’ll be at Mumsnet HQ and ready to answer as many Qs as possible over an hour. See you there. As ever if you can’t join us at that time, post your questions to Joe in advance on this thread.

Hi Joe,

we love your cookbook in this house! I would really like to know your top tips for staying motivated when starting a new exercise regime, thanks!

Plan your workouts into the week like they're meetings- take them seriously, don't be late. You could get a training partner- maybe a friend, that might help. Prep your meals- get organised- if your food's all sorted, you won't be stressed. Prep like a boss!

Hi joe,
It feels difficult to let go of lower fat options as positive even though I understand the idea behind it... Do your meals fit into a weight loss plan or more a healthy lifestyle to maintain weight?

Hope this gets answered in the last 5mins! I couldn't find the webchat!!

  1. Is there such a thing as big boned!? I picked up a size smaller one day in a shop and my mother told me I would never be that size as I am big boned (also tall - 5'11)...is there still hope for me!?
  2. I went on a protein diet with PT and toned up but didn't loose many inches at the end he said it was because I might need a bit of carbs as I am a certain type of body structure...is this a correct theory?

@Clazzer1

So If i stick to Fish/Chicken/Meat with veggies/salad and no carbs for the normal meals and add in a small amount of carb for the post workout meals I should be OK?

That sounds great but you haven't mentioned any fat sources in your diet which you need to consume too- like nuts, avocado, cheese, dairy.

My plan is about fat loss and weight loss. But fats are essential to the body. Trust what I'm saying, and trust that low fat products are blasted with trans fats. We were designed to eat natural fats. Fats aren't the devil!

  • There's no such thing as big-boned- we all have the same skeleton. Your habits and lifestyles determine your weight, we all have the ability to burn fat each day. Fuelling your body is important- its like a tank. Gettin lean is possible for everyone - eat healthy food, be consistent, train and exercise.

  • Women need carbs- you should consume carbs, how much depends on you. The plan is tailored to everyone.
