Si and Dave last joined us back in 2012 and they're back at MNHQ this Thursday (16 Jan) between 1.45 and 2.45 pm to answer your questions. Since their last visit they've shed a few pounds between them - and furthermore managed to keep the weight off. The secret of their success has been shared in their book, The Hairy Bikers Eat for Life and this month they have launched their very own Hairy Bikers diet club.

Everyone who joins the chat on Thursday or posts a question to the Bikers in advance will be entered into a draw to win a copy of the book and a month's free membership in their club.

I love cooking from your diet book (and I lost 3.5 stone last year), and love the idea of fakeaway sauce.

Have you ever tried making gluten free bread? I have to eat gf and the bread side of things is dire

@Mckayz

Hi. Another huge fan here. Well the whole family is, you said hello to my son Dylan on the last chat.

I was wondering if you each have a personal favourite book? I love the Mums Know Best book. My husband and son Dylan love your Curry book and my eldest son Freddie loves your pie book.

I was very pleased to see a healthier version of Pan Haggerty in the new diet book.

Our new Asia cookbook comes out on 30th January, and we're very excited about that! And on February 13th, we transmit the Hairy Bikers' Asian Adventure on BBC2.

One of my favourite books that I must have read three or four times is 'From Holy Mountain' by William Dalrymple.

Lots of love, Si x

@clare8allthepies

Hi, really excited about the diet club as I'm a big fan of your books and have loads of weight to lose! Grin

Like the others in my situation (constantly breastfeeding an 8 week old baby) I'm craving sugary carby foods, especially in the early hours of the morning. Would you recommend trying to avoid these altogether, or try to cut back on other meals to still have biscuits to get through the night feeds?

Please can you include lots of calorie free biscuit recipes for the diet club, cheers! Biscuit

Be kind to yourself while you're breastfeeding. There's loads of time to get yourself sorted after that. Try to keep the lid however on overeating and join our club when baby's on solids! Love Dave x

Hi Si & Dave,
Not really very diet related, but next time you drive through Oberkirch on your bikes you should stay a little longer...we have some fantastic restaurants and my mother in law Hildegard can show you another great Black forest gateau. P.S a low fat curry recipe book would be awesome!

@shizk

I am also a big fan of both your books, and your lower fat alternatives to family favourites but still with full flavour are a hit in our house. I follow the diet club on Twitter and enjoying seeing posted pictures of recipes as I know that mine look similar so I'm doing the right thing, my question to is as I've never been a member of a diet club what is different about yours that I should consider joining?
Keep up the great work
Shirley

The big difference about our Diet Club is it's ours, and it's all about food. That means Si and I take great pride and care in it's content and our members. Also, we've got a forum, that's mutually supportive and also a lot of our recipes that are exclusive to the club. We know times are hard, so we know our prices very competitive. There are plenty of tips and tricks to get you on your way, and exercise programmes too. Give it a go – you might love it! Best wishes, Dave x

@Mouseface

Hello Bikers! :)

I was wondering if you have any suggestions for low carb eaters like myself who want something lovely and comforting for these cold, dark evenings, that maybe I can eat with my husband and daughter too?

At the moment we're eating a lot of our meals separately as I'm not eating pasta or rice at all and have only just started to reintroduce potatoes into my diet.

I tend to have my largest meal (salads with prawns, chicken, pork strips, tuna etc) at around 1.30 - 2pm but find I'm not hungry later when it's dinner time, around 7 - 7.30pm

Any yummy pudding ideas would be most welcome too! Grin

Well done on the book and weight loss to you both.

Thank you in advance if you answer my question :)

Yes! Go and buy both Hairy Dieters books. They're on a bundle offer with The Book People - and they're full of fantastic tasty recipes for all the family to enjoy. And apart from anything else - buy them while they're cheap!

Lots of love, Si x

It's been lovely chatting. We have to go now! It's two years since we were here last, and we hope it's not another two years before we meet again! We wish you all the love and luck in the world. Without mothers, we wouldn't be here! Dave and Si x

I wonder if they're thinking of selling a ready made version of their sauces Grin. Very on message, but frankly if the sauces taste like the ones in their books then they're welcome to my money.

Any thoughts on bringing out a Hairy Dieters food range for the supermarkets, to help those of us following the diet from your books? I love the foods but find it hard to cook for one when the recipes are for 4 or 6 people?.
