The Hairy Bikers - Live webchat, TODAY, Monday 17 September, 1-2pm

Si and Dave are joining us for a lunchtime webchat on Monday 17 September at 1pm.

A bit of background info: The Hairy Bikers met on the set of a Catherine Cookson drama Shock. Si was Assistant Director and Dave a makeup artist, specialising in prosthetics Shock Shock. On discovering their mutual love of motorbikes and food, The Hairy Bikers were born. Since then food has been their mission, producing several TV series and six books.

In August they embarked on a mission to change their lifestyle and lose two-and-a-half stone, while staying true to their love of great food. The Hairy Dieters gave themselves just three months to complete the mission and simultaneously produce a book, The Hairy Dieters: How to Love Food and Lose Weight which, they say is 'real food for real people, not skinny minnies'.

Kicking off at the end of September 2012, The Hairy Bikers are embarking on a whirlwind tour of the UK. If you send in a question to The Hairy Bikers or join in the webchat, you will be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets to not only see the Hairy Bikers live at the nearest venue to you, but to join them on stage and be cooked for by them. For more details and tickets, please go to www.hairybikers.com/tour

Chat with the Hairy Bikers at 1pm on Monday, or post a question in advance.

Why, why, why are all the good web chats on when I am at work? So not fair.

Loved the Hairy Dieters series.

My question is have you lost anymore weight or some crept back on?

Fantastic to have you both on for a web chat :)

My question is could you recommend a recipe or two that will be quick and easy to make, as I have a 3mo DD, but that will help my DH with his health issues whilst being something he will enjoy. He has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, borderline diabetes and is overweight. He is trying to lose weight but loves his carbs.

Thank you :)

Just ordered the book, enjoyed the program. Are you still cycling and do you eat extra when you exercise a lot?

Great. Loved watching the hairy dieters series recently - very inspirational, especially as I'm trying to lose weight at the minute too (over 2 stone down.....but 3 to go Hmm ).

I'd like to know how much weight have you now both lost (looking fab btw Grin ) and if you are still keeping to the meagre 1300 kcals you were limited to during the show and if so then how on earth do you do it ?

I have watched a lot of your lovely TV series , I especially liked the Bakeation .
I've looked for a book of the series , and haven't seen one . Is there one ?

But my real question is the same as I asked Lorraine Pascale ..

My dream TV show would be a celebrity version of The Great British Bakeoff , would you take part , if you were asked ?

Hi Si and Dave! I loved your Hairy Dieters series, as did my husband, who would like to lose a few stone pounds, but is addicted to sausages. So my question is: is there a way of cooking a tasty sausage alternative at home with less fat and salt, without using any fancy machines?

Also, is there a book to accompany the series? I'm sure my hairy dieter would be delighted to find it in his stocking if there is.

Thanks guys!

Hello Hairy Bikers I missed your dieting series which sounds like it was brilliant.
I love rich creamy food and cheese, not great I know. Can you make delicious food by avoiding these ingredients? Please say you can!

Hello Dave and Si,

My question is about white bread. We read that it has bad GI and therefore affects weight. My favourite 'meal' of all time is freshly baked crusty white bread with butter. My favourite comfort meal is white toast and butter. Am I doomed or is there a tasty, healthy alternative with that unashamedly 'white bread' taste? (I have three stones to lose :-( )

Hi, we're all big Hairy Biker fans in this house, and have all the cookbooks so far!
My question is as you're cooking such great food all day every day, do you ever just go home and think "can't be bothered with cooking" and put your feet up?!
I bet you live on baked beans on toast and Pot Noodles really, don't you... [grin}

I've recently bought a Cobb which has revolutionised our camping cooking. What's the best thing you've ever cooked on one?

Hello Si and Dave
My question is:
If you had done something very bad and were on death row (god forbid obv) and you had to pick your last meal, what would it be?
Thanks!

I love you guys.

Thanks to you I've lost a stone in a month.

But there's one searing question I just have to ask:

Where the actual fuck do you get those little oval foil pie dishes? I've lost the will to live trying to find them.

What are your top tips for keeping weight off once you've lost it please?

I am egg intolerant and really struggle trying to find good recipes that don't contain egg. Please do you know of fruit cake recipes that I can used for everyday and in particular for a Christmas Cake. Also, is it possible to make royal icing without egg white. Yours eggstremely gratefully!

I love your food and really enjoy trying new recipes, but I don't have a very receptive audience. My daughter (aged 6) is reluctant to try anything new and greets all efforts to encourage her to widen her food repertoire with great suspicion.

Any idea on how I can get her to try new foods so that we can sit down together and eat the same meal instead of me eating something delicious and her eating chicken sodding nuggets again?
