The Hairy Bikers - Live webchat, TODAY, Monday 17 September, 1-2pm

Si and Dave are joining us for a lunchtime webchat on Monday 17 September at 1pm.

A bit of background info: The Hairy Bikers met on the set of a Catherine Cookson drama Shock. Si was Assistant Director and Dave a makeup artist, specialising in prosthetics Shock Shock. On discovering their mutual love of motorbikes and food, The Hairy Bikers were born. Since then food has been their mission, producing several TV series and six books.

In August they embarked on a mission to change their lifestyle and lose two-and-a-half stone, while staying true to their love of great food. The Hairy Dieters gave themselves just three months to complete the mission and simultaneously produce a book, The Hairy Dieters: How to Love Food and Lose Weight which, they say is 'real food for real people, not skinny minnies'.

Kicking off at the end of September 2012, The Hairy Bikers are embarking on a whirlwind tour of the UK. If you send in a question to The Hairy Bikers or join in the webchat, you will be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets to not only see the Hairy Bikers live at the nearest venue to you, but to join them on stage and be cooked for by them. For more details and tickets, please go to www.hairybikers.com/tour

Chat with the Hairy Bikers at 1pm on Monday, or post a question in advance.

Ooh, just followed the link for your tour! Will head off to get a gaggle of fellow stalkers adoring fans together for your show up this way.

My question is... who bakes the cakes for your birthdays and are they always a surprise?

Our family all love the Hairy Bikers, the tour comes here in March and we have tickets! Grin

I love that you make normal, everyday food that we can all serve our families without anyone giving it the Hmm look and asking "What's that?"

My question - what is your favourite "comfort food"?

Big fan of your show; your enthusiasm and delight in cooking really shines through and I find it really inspiring!

An important question:- out of all the bikes you've ridden in the programmes, which has been your favourite?

Can't think of a question, just wanted to say that my dses think you are the funniest thing on the tvGrin

Actually, there's a fairly sensible question! Any plans to do a cookery programme aimed at children? You both seem to have a sense of fun that children connect with.

If yes, I won't ask you to say which ones, cos I know you're both lovely and wouldn't sayWink

Hi Hairy Bikers Blush Grin

I really enjoyed the honesty of The Hairy Dieters, especially hearing about Si's upbringing, my mum and I had a tear in our eyes when you talked about your schooldays. That series meant a lot to me as I've lost 8 stone in the last year, and have had to deal with a lot of Issues around food. I still have a little way to go however.

My question is- are you continuing to lose weight, and if you are at a weight you are happy with, how are you finding maintaining it?

Thank you :)

No question here either but wanted to let you know that my 3 year old son Dylan loves you. He's asked to see you as his birthday present so we're going to the good food show. He is always helping to cook.

Actually I do have a question from Dylan. Will you come to his party in December? Grin

Hi Si and Dave:)
Love your enthusiasm for food.

One question -

I am vegan, and find there is a complete lack of even vegetarian cookery shows, never mind vegan. I think it should be made law that any recipe in a book or on the telly should always have a vegan alternative shown at the same time. What do you think Grin

Hi Si and Dave Smile

Love your shows and recipes!

My question is: what is your earliest memory of cooking, what were you making and was it edible?

Will look forward to see you in Birmingham Smile

First and foremost, I need to say that you are both brilliant, funny, inspiring and unpretentious unlike many so-called chefs on the box and that I always look forward to your programmes.

Well done on the weight loss and on showing people that you can eat healthily and still enjoy some delicious food...However, my question is: now that you've lost so much weight, how are you going to continue on your calorie-laden travels without sacrificing your waistline?

Oooh where's that poster that had an inappropriate Hairy Bikers dream?!

Hi guys - think you're both superb. Your programmes always make me giggle, and I love the healthy by still enjoyable menus you've created recently.

What's your favourite healthy snack? (And biscuit...!)

Oooh the Hairy Ones My mum, MIL and I regularly scrap over you Blush

You both look even more dashing post weight-loss. Can you honestly say that you aren't compromising your love of good food for being svelte. I ask this as a voluptuous woman who can't equate being thin with being able to enjoy food. Am I wrong?
