Hi Ed. Firstly, don't let the bastards get you down- you're doing a pretty good job & I think people are slowly appreciating what you stand for!

My question is, from the period when labour were last in power, what one thing are you most proud of, & what one thing would you do differently with the benefit of hindsight?

teddyandsheep · 01/12/2011 13:57

I would be interested in Mr Miliband's view on the provision of pre-school education. The current system (which I think was put in place by the Labour government) has resulted in a number of pre-schools closing and a two tier system as nurseries withdraw from providing 15 hours "free", as funding at just over £3/child/hr is clearly inadequate. I would be very interested at how would you address this given other pressures.

Hello Ed.

JanetNaylor · 01/12/2011 14:03

so is it women's fault you're late?

northeastofeden · 01/12/2011 14:03

I would like to second Vivalebeaver's question and add my own...

Surely if the NHS pension scheme was run in a way where that £2billion surplus was ringfenced and invested every year the scheme would be sustainable?
I don't understand why the surplus goes back into treasury coffers currently... I don't work in the NHS nor am I a teacher, but having found out the facts I totally support their strike action as this seems to be a stealth tax on public sector workers. Please start sticking up for ordinary people!

woollyideas · 01/12/2011 14:03

Biscuit not a 'no comment' biscuit, but a real one to dunk in Firefly's tea...

caramelwaffle · 01/12/2011 14:03

Will you (Labour Party) consider making All childcare 100% tax deductible?

I know lots of people are going to be affected by the cuts to nursery and childcare provision. Much of it is a false economy--bad for women and men who want to work, and for their kids. What we can do will depend on the situation we inherit but I am worried the government is going backwards on this.

MyRealName · 01/12/2011 14:05

A Q&A with women no less, heavy stuff.

Anyway, welcome. Will be watching with interest.
