We're very pleased to announce that Labour leader, Ed Miliband will be joining us for a webchat this Thursday between 1.45pm and 2.45pm.

Ed is MP for Doncaster, former Minister for Energy and Climate change and won the Labour leadership in the autumn of 2010. He's keen to hear your views and answer any of your questions.

Do join us for the webchat. As ever, if you can't make it, please post up your advance questions here.

Thanks,

MNHQ

We have had a couple of questions come in via our Facebook page

Erika-Maye Davies says Can we have a private rendition of "Endless Love", please, Ed? They were discuss your liking for it on HIGNFY.

Sarah Brown says Could you ask - Work by the Fawcett Society and other womens organizations has shown how the cuts have disproportionately affected women. If back in power how does he propose to tackle this problem? Many thanks!

JustineMumsnet · 01/12/2011 13:48

Ed Miliband is caught in traffic so has promised to stay late. Eta of chat now 2-3.
Thanks for your patience Smile.

@reelingintheyears

Bugger..i've got to go out.

Will try to make sure he gets to your question in your absence Reeling.

JustineMumsnet · 01/12/2011 13:53

Note to all - only one question each please. There are an enormous amount of questions already, and we can't guarantee to answer everyone but am sure he'll try his best. If you ask more than one, though, it most likely won't get answered.

JustineMumsnet · 01/12/2011 14:01

Ed Miliband is in the building and ready to go in a sec.

@lubeybaublely

Dear Ed,

There are some very important questions on the first page of this thread (including mine) Just pointing that out :)

Don't worry it's not been missed - Ed's just dived straight in but we will make sure he sees the early ones too.

JustineMumsnet · 01/12/2011 14:26

@herbietea

I agree with Alibaba.

I asked this question very early on this thread. Please don't cherry pick the easy to answer questions. Please tell us what the Labour Party would do if they were in Government.

Hi Herbietea,
I'm sure that Ed will get to your question but of course he has to start somewhere. Please be reasonable and remember our webchat rules. Thanks Smile.

JustineMumsnet · 01/12/2011 14:29

@herbietea

One thing he has in common with DaveC is he is a slow typist!Grin

Another, final, reminder Herbietea to follow our webchat rules - ie please be civil or don't be here.

JustineMumsnet · 01/12/2011 14:31

@Masserrato

Did you tell Ed that he will get a VERY bad name if he picks and chooses questions?

He has to pick by definition but he's just asked me what are the difficult ones, so again, please be patient!

JustineMumsnet · 01/12/2011 14:34

@Masserrato

Oh come on....you've jumped from the first question aeons ago and come to the last question. Sad.

Don't be sad, Masserrato, think Ed is answering your question right now Smile.

JustineMumsnet · 01/12/2011 14:44

@FelicityNavidad

Ooh Rhubs, you are NORTY.

I think everyone needs to calm down a bit and let him answer some more questions before C+P their stuff again otherwise it just gets far too difficult.

Quite right, it doesn't help if you do this, just makes answering the questions harder.

JustineMumsnet · 01/12/2011 15:31

@Bucharest

And I am one of the 2 (AFAIK) people on this thread who voted for you. (was it me mentioning Ann Widdecomb that put you off? Are you scrubbing your eyes with a brillo pad?)

Apologies Bucharest, he just ran out of time. He was whisked away with a print out of yours and CatalieSisters' (excellent) questions in is hands. So you never know....
