Paul McKenna is joining us for a live webchat on Wednesday evening between 7 and 8pm. Paul will be chatting about his latest book, I Can Make you Happy which claims it can make you feel happier than you had ever imagined.

Paul will also be happy to answer questions on his 'I can Make you Thin' programme which he says has helped 71% of people who have tried it successfully lose weight and keep it off. He will be taking over the Hammersmith Apollo on Saturday 19th February to host his first Live Weight Loss Seminar.

Paul is Britain's best selling non-fiction author and is published in 30 languages as well as hosting television shows and seminars in hypnosis, Neuro Linguistic Programming and motivation.

Join us on Wednesday evening to chat to Paul, or send in your questions in advance to this thread and he'll attempt to answer as many questions as possible over the hour.

Tortoise · 12/01/2011 21:00

Thanks Deafworm. Added to basket and will buy tomorrow when i have money in the bank!

solo · 12/01/2011 21:03

I considered that being invited personally as a guest would mean just one ticket, not two...? Hmm

Deafworm · 12/01/2011 21:04

good luck, come join us on the paul mckenna 2011 thread if you like, i restarted on 1st jan and most of us have started since then

MaxineQuordlepleen · 12/01/2011 21:10

Please can I go in the draw for tickets, if it's not too late? Thanks.

AnyFuleKno · 12/01/2011 21:12

I didn't want to be impolite to my response but I obviously do realise that Russell Brand is a comedian, and do find him funny, that's why I bought his book.

The bit I was referencing was a direct quote of Paul Mckenna.

No matter. His system is very good anyway.

blinder · 12/01/2011 21:25

AnyFuleKno I think he knew that but very skilfully seemed to answer your question without tackling it really.

I'm sure he did use that misogynistic language but he's obviously not goin to focus on it here.

Rindercella · 12/01/2011 21:31

Missed webchat (and can't see that PM made a specific reply to my question Sad), but pretty please, can I go in the draw for a ticket? Please??

whethergirl · 12/01/2011 21:38

Can I go in the draw please!

dontstopmenow · 12/01/2011 21:55

Pretty please can I go in the draw?? Thank you!

mariel · 12/01/2011 22:04

Another request to have my name entered in the hat for the ticket draw please - hope I'm not too late!

PinkCustard · 12/01/2011 22:08

If it's not too late can I please be entered into the draw for tickets too xxx

futurity · 12/01/2011 22:51

Please put my name into the hat! Thanks !

whomovedmychocolate · 12/01/2011 23:14

Incidentally the 'I can make you happy' CD is v good. I've been slightly high for two days now. Which considering the events of those days is remarkable :)

Tomorrowslookingfine · 12/01/2011 23:45

I'd like to be in the draw for tickets please, if its not too late! Cheers

WilfShelf · 13/01/2011 00:02

Bloody hell. I can't believe nobody asked:

  1. Will you look into my eyes. Not around my eyes.
AnyFuleKno · 13/01/2011 00:49

Wilf in answer to your question 2. I think it's down to three things:

Suggestion: taking advantage of the way we interpret language (NLP). Part of it is that humans instinctively want to obey commands. An example NLPers give of this is 'don't think of a purple banana'. Your brain interprets the command and carries it out before it interprets the negation of the 'don't'. In hyponosis, the suggestion is really just a set of commands. The 'trance' is just a relaxed state where you feel compliant.

Visualisation: by visualising yourself doing something or behaving a certain way, you're starting a habit. If you visualise it often, your habit becomes more ingrained (for example, eating slowly, putting knife and fork down etc).

Identity: As behaviour is so often tied up in identity (i.e. I am a smoker/I am a non-smoker), by giving someone a new identity to adopt it allows them to approach situations with a new perspective, and behave in the way a non-smoker would behave

JetSetWilly · 13/01/2011 02:58

I didn't think it was a great webchat actually. He didn't tell us much other than "Sorry you're feeling this way. Try, my CD/book or contact this mate of mine for help".

I'd still like to go to his seminar though Smile

lilibet · 13/01/2011 08:36

Is it too late to beg and plead ask nicely if I can go in the draw?

Thank you
