We're very happy that Justin Fletcher is joining us again for a live webchat on Friday lunchtime between 12 and 1 pm. Justin needs no introduction to mumsnetters, who enjoyed a fab webchat with Mr Tumble back in April. Justin is here in his role as a Patron of Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK who have been supported by Cadbury since 2009. This year through the launch of Wishes Cadbury will donate 10% of all profits from the product to Make-A-Wish. Put the date in your diary for Friday midday and if you can't make it, post a question in advance to this thread.

hello Justin, welcome back!!!!!! Since the last time you were here, the price of something special dvds has gone down and the hello song is back on the beginning of the episodes again, thank you sooooooo much. You are still very much loved in this house, dd3 (sn) is absolutely rapt every time you are on the tv, she's got into gigglebiz as well as something special now.

Will there be a gigglebiz dvd out any time soon? I'm quite happy to watch you all day but a little more variation would be nice Xmas Grin

sorry, I have to ask a second. Cliff Tumble is fantastic, so, does Cliff know and what does he think if he does Xmas Grin

Justin,

You are literally a hero in our house. When it first became apparent that our son had special needs your show, Something Special, got me through some very difficult times.

I learnt all my Makaton from watching the show and it helped me to feel like I was doing something proactive in helping my son. He and his twin brother ADORE you and have learnt so much from your shows.

I want to ask, what's the most enjoyable part of your job and what do you plan to do in the future?

PS I also have a secret crush on you Blush Grin

Haven't thought of a Q yet, but just wanted to add to the masses who love Something Special and Gigglebiz. My children are nearly 6, 3 and 2 and all of them adore both shows. You are a genius and we love you. Thank you for making such great programmes.

Hi Justin,

I was watching you on Cbeebies a few years ago and you held up a school photo from Hazeldown Primary School, I was in the photo !!! We must have gone to school together ? Is that right - I dont have a great memory so can you put me out of my misery and tell me if I am right, my kids think I am famous !!!!

Hi Justin

My 22 month old DD is one of your biggest fans. She really doesn't like tv at all unless you are on! She will regularly grab my iPad and demand "Tumble" on the iplayer.

So thanks for all you do and we really hope you decide to tour with all your characters!

My question - will you marry me? Grin

Oh my, oh my - so excited to get a chance to ask you a question. I have a huge crush (and now realise I am not alone!).

So I guess my question is: How are you different when you are off screen from when you are on screen? What makes you tick? What/who makes you laugh? (Three questions but all related I feel) :)

So, now thats out my system.

Just wanted to say, we travelled 2 hours with our 3 DC's (all under 5) to see you in panto last Saturday as my 2yr old son idolises you. You were fantastic! He has not stopped talking about seeing you, and tells everyone that you were very funny. He also sleeps with the programme. And continually sings the hello song and tells everyone his name is Justin (it isn't.) Thankyou for making his christmas! And mine. (secret crush) Grin

So my actual question is...would you ever consider doing panto as a dame? Just thought that nanna knickerbocker would be ace in aladdin or Jack and the beanstalk!!

Also... and this is not a question, its a statement...you should film something special out and about in Weston-super-mare sometime...we have donkeys and a brand spanking new pier which is very lovely. And I'm here. Wink

hi we only came across Something Special since DS (15 months) arrived and personally I think it is the best children's programme on the TV currently. It is actually the only TV programme DS will stop, take interest in and dance to the music to!

Without wishing to seem patronising it is really refreshing to see children with special needs portrayed in such a positive manner on the telly and i wish this was the case across other mainstream channels.

My question is .... do you have any thoughts on how we can portray more positive images of children (and adults for that matter) with addtional needs in these times when the media seem to be obsessed with `perfection' and celebrity status?

Also I would like to know what is a normal day for you (other than being swooned over on MN - I include myself in the swooning Grin)

Hi Justin

Just wanted to say thank you!

We love all your shows, both my kids started signing before they could talk, which was really helpful, especially around meal times.

It's great that the comedy apeals to adults too, Cliff Tumble, Lord Tumble (especially the tennis match), Farmer Dung, absolutely fantastic, the list goes on!

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and carry on the good work in the New Year xx

Loving your work!! Really big fan of Cbeebies taught both my children at such a young age, and with the help of programmes like "Something Special" gave them an understanding of the fact that not everyone is the same, so avoiding staring in places where we may come across all different races and capabilities and it was never questioned so Thank you for that and the part of which you played! Xmas Smile

If you could put across one message through your entertainment that you haven't so far what would it be?

pick me pick me Xmas Grin

Hello, we saw you at Camp Bestival this summer - we were there at the bandstand on the Friday. When the whole crowd started singing the hello song it almost made me cry (pregnant hormones and all that)

Did you enjoy it? We loved it.

It never ceases to amaze when I start my live performances, when the whole crowd sing the Hello song, accapella - it's an amazing sound to hear 10,000 people sing in unison, and signing at the same time.

@5GoldenFimbos

Would you like to ever move into presenting adult programmes on televison?

At the moment, I have the next two and a half years mapped out at the BBC already and I'm very happy with where I am on CBeebies, but I would certainly look into adult presenting and acting in the future.

I love working with the children on the show Something Special. Since we changed the format of the show and decided to film it out and about, we are lucky enough to film in lots of schools around the country and the interaction and the response we get from all of the children is just incredible. And it lifts the show to another level, because the stars of the show are the children.

I started writing the Gigglebiz characters 15 years ago! Whilst at drama school and would write my ideas on the back of post it notes. And I always wanted to put a preschool sketch show together. And finally when the time was right, I pitched the idea to the BBC and thankfully, they commissioned it! We've just finished filming series 2 which comes out in January.
