My child has a badge that sees ghosts?

Lighthearted!

DS 4, has a badge he calls “birdie friend.” I may post a photo later! It’s a badge with a bird on.

Birdie Friend seems to have the gift of the “sight!” “Birdie Friend says Bob and Rose are here mummy, they like to have tea with us. Bob and Rose are DH’s grandparents who died many years ago.

“Birdie Friend says the men who lived upstairs looked like you mummy when their faces burned off.” We used to live in a former military hospital and I had a sheet mash on my face! The ward upstairs had indeed been a burns/plastics ward!

“Mummy, Birdie Friend says the end is coming soon.”

😂😱😨

I've seen a modern day ghost. A friend, my sister and I were walking home from school one day through an alley way and there was a man walking right behind us. Turned around a minute or so later and he had disappeared, there was nowhere that he could have gone unless he ran ridiculously fast back out the entrance and he didn't pass us.

Also as a child my cousin used to live with our grandma. One morning she announced to Grandma that Uncle Steve had been in her room that night and stroked her head. This wasn't possible as our uncle Steve was serving abroad in the army. Later on whilst looking for something in a box with old photo albums my cousin pointed to a photo of our Grandad (who had died before we were born) in his marine regalia and said that's uncle Steve who came to see me last night. My grandmas house was always a bit creepy and we heard a few things there.

Why does BF think that he would be able to help re UNI. assignment ? whats the topic ? - what are his “ particular set of skills “ ? Were the wedding people friends of yours or your DP, Or family friends? This needs a mental Venn Diagram just figuring out the overlaps! I hope the military connection doesn’t mean he turns out to be Dai from the Welsh Guards or some other name that puts the wind up you when you hear it !

Cherrysoup · 19/01/2020 22:50

@FlamingoAndJohn are you seeing modern ghosts?! All the Eastern European blokes round my way in their 30s/40s wear a standard outfit of jeans, trainers, shell top which makes me think of the 90s.

Howmanysleepsnow · 19/01/2020 22:51

@Dowser I can’t attach photos in PM, but this is his most common location

Oh my fricking world of nightmares. Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely creeped the eff out now!

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime I’ve had physical marks left by what I believed to be a spirit or ghost. My family and I on holiday in France, staying in the grounds of a 12th century priory. I felt a really sharp pain across my back during the night. I woke up and asked my mum to check my back for me, I had long scratch marks diagonally from my shoulders down.

My mother lived in a house years ago where she believes a woman died on the stares. She had her ankles pinched and was slapped around the face. She used to get my sisters to say good morning/good bye to it. She said after that they didn’t get too much trouble. Horrible stuff.

I worked in a huge Manor House which had been converted to offices when I was a teen. The house had been a children’s hospital/home for awhile and the top floor had had a fire. Our offices were on the top floor. I never really got sick ever but when I started working there I became really run down and lethargic and constantly feeling quite ill. I was also with my manager (just her and I in the office at the time) we were sat doing the accounts, when at our office door behind us we both thought we heard a little girl take in a breath. We turned around and looked at each other, both saying the same thing. My mum and I went into the office one weekend, we put crystals and holy water high up on a shelf and left the bible open at a prayer about it being okay to cross over. Didn’t have another sick day and never heard the little girl ever again.

I worry about my DD being sensitive to it all. Mainly because I am ClassA coward!

TLBftm · 19/01/2020 23:01

Get rid of the child!

😂 obvs joking, I am loving this thread even though I’m now feeling creeped out looking suspiciously round my room....

I think this BF is actually communicating with your DS. I could tell you so many little stories like this one.... but one, we lost my grandad 2 years ago and my sister was at work in the store room a few months later chatting to a friend, when suddenly she flung round and was all creeped out etc, and told her friend ‘that was so strange, I just got a really cold feeling and I could smell my grandad’ he wasn’t a smelly grandad haha but you know someone’s smell don’t you.... then randomly her tv in her room was turning itself off almost every night. Doesn’t sound too funky but one of the last time’s she saw grandad she had gone round to sort his tv Ariel for him as he kept losing the picture.... months went by and she went to a clairvoyant who spoke a lot about grandad and told my sister, if you let him, he will come say hi! She went on to tell her that she has the gift too and if she begins practising it and opens herself up to it, she will be able to see people etc. She said it’s about choosing to let them in and that he’s being trying to get through to her for a while! Her response was ‘I don’t bloody want him to come say hi tell him’ 😬😂

For me, I just gets too many stories such as these to discredit them, and although I’m not 100% sure what I believe, I believe there is something....

I agree with PPs about you should quiz BF on stuff your DS wouldn’t know unless BF really is a spirit or whatever

TanselleTooTall · 19/01/2020 23:13

Modern entities are what people describe in situations of "glitches in the matrix".

WiciousLittleFerret · 19/01/2020 23:19

Fascinating thread...very interested in @Dowser input.

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 19/01/2020 23:30

Some of these stories are petrifying. I’d also keep a note of it all for when he’s older, I find this stuff fascinating (although obviously when it’s not my house or kid!).

My Nan visited me shortly after she died to say she was ok and looking for our old family friend in heaven. It was a lucid dream but my god it felt real – we had a proper conversation. I’d love for her to visit again, it was incredibly comforting.

WalkingWithTheBuffalo · 19/01/2020 23:41

Full disclosure: I have some training in woo (yes you can train in this stuff). 🤓

My reading of it is this. DS is obviously sensitive and psychic and reading the atmosphere around him. It's not actually that hard to do if you have a gift for it and or some training. People, events, leave what I would describe as an etheric imprint. If you're sensitive you can tune in you can 'read' it. A bit like finding a radio station.

DS may well be expressing his own perceptions through birdie. However entities do exist, and I have seen, although I have not personally dealt with, children to whom an entity attaches itself. The entity can talk to them and influence their behaviour.

So I would be careful. I don't think it's the badge itself, but if you destroy the badge you may destroy the bridge, or at least convince DS the bridge is terminated. It may well continue because of course the entity is independent of the badge but it's worth a try.

You can get a Catholic priest to bless DS and the house. But what you really need is a very good healer who is psychic enough to perceive actually what is going on. Priests aren't necessarily psychic and can't often can't perceive anything behind the material realm. They just do what they're taught. Exorcism often frightens the entity/ghost away rather than actually moving it over to the other side. If anything has attached itself to DS it may need healing too.

I was actually an atheist most of my life, but I could always see dead people and remember past lives.

Children are very open and sensitive before the Western paradigm imprints its norms and they forget what they once knew.

If you're in the London area I can recommend a couple of people to help you.

Ellamar · 19/01/2020 23:41

When I was a child I saw someone in a house we recently moved in to and my parents said it was my imagination. Later a close family member saw the same person and they never knew about my sighting. Myself my husband and children have lived a few decades in our home but we had a similar situation. When we moved in one of our children said she saw a soldier and we laughed about it. Her brother was born the next year and when he was three he started talking about the soldier and we said how do you know and the reply was because he told me so. We downplayed everything and i think that is the best way as children forget and move on then.

LookingGlassMilk · 19/01/2020 23:42

This is a fascinating thread. I am a bit freaked out about 'the end' though!

PixieDustt · 19/01/2020 23:48

@howmanysleepsnow looking at your picture made me feel all goosebumpy when I looked at the left hand side of the picture and I don't even know why! 😳

PixieDustt · 19/01/2020 23:49

This thread is getting weirder. You're seriously braver than me OP. I'd of run from that house and lit a match on the way out leaving the badge in there!

WalkingWithTheBuffalo · 19/01/2020 23:51

I've just read dowser's posts. I agree and disagree. I agree DS is clairaudient and clairvoyant. But 'ghosts' actually cover a range of phenomena lumped together. No ghost is an actual whole 'soul'. The type of ghosts that referred to are generally the etheric shells. People can leave a bit of their energy behind or leave a part of themselves stuck in a intense experience which is why they're often associated with trauma and dramatic events.

OwlBeThere · 19/01/2020 23:55

My son used to tell me stories about the lady with the little dog who slept in my room. He was accurately describing my nan and her dog who used to live in my old house. He had no idea it had been her house. ‘You have to leave the door open downstairs mummy because the little dog is scared and needs to see the lady’ said when we had a thunderstorm 1 night. Which is exactly what the dog used to do; scratch the door to bits until she was allowed to sleep with my Nan.

Howmanysleepsnow · 20/01/2020 00:00

@PixieDustt PM’d you.

incognitomum · 20/01/2020 00:20

My family have been mediumstic since at least my great gran. My eldest son could see solid spirit from 2 year old. He used to talk about playing with the 'other ds1' and I'd had a bleed when pg with him. Go said it may have been a twin? Ds1 also talked about grandad with a hat on he'd talk to. One day he pointed to a photo of my dad and said there's grandad with a hat on. Dad died when I was 20 so 9 years before ds1 and dad wore a cap. Ds1 had never seen a photo of him. Ds1 was around 2 or 3 then and very articulate for his age.

Sadly he's an adult now and doesn't mention if he sees anything.

I still do as was weaned on spiritualist churches so it's a normal way of life. I don't believe you take them home with you and don't know anyone in the churches who would say you do either. I do believe we all have guides and they are there to do just that...guide us. Just need to ask and believe Smile

incognitomum · 20/01/2020 00:21

Gp not go

TheSheepofWallSt · 20/01/2020 00:22

Just reading Dowser’s posts... brought back to me some sort of forgotten memories.

In my early teens I started hearing people call my name in the night, and seeing lights and shadows moving around the house. My mum was mentally ill, and I often jumped out of bed in the night convinced she was calling me- only to find she was asleep.

I met a clairvoyant when I was about 15, who (without knowing any of this) told me I had a gift and that I could choose to embrace it and it would grow, or I could choose to let it fade. I chose the latter, because frankly I was exhausted by it- and it made me feel “different”. Which no teenager wants. But I always kept tarot cards (id been reading since I was 12) etc. Just because I found them comforting.

Although I’ve had less “woo” experiences as I’ve got older, I have at times had a strong sense of “there’s more here than I can see”. I’m a hugely emotionally perceptive person even now, and can “read” a room (of the living!) very easily. My 3yo son and I also seem to “share” thoughts a lot!

I actually was granted forewarning of DS’ when I read my own tarot cards- I drew The Sun 6 times in a row from a randomly shuffled pack. I assumed it was about my new boyfriend Grin . It was said new boyfriends baby I was being told about, who I fell pregnant with 12 weeks later.

Anyway- suffice to say- I’m someone who has always been perceived (by family and friends) as a bit “woo”- that I intuit a bit too much- but honestly, I just choose not to engage with it. It makes life simpler.

OP- I’m sure your DS will have a similar choice at some point- and it will be up to him what happens next.

incognitomum · 20/01/2020 00:23

@PixieDustt I agree re left hand side.

PixieDustt · 20/01/2020 00:28

@howmanysleepsnow

I do see an outline of a boy.
People can say what they want. I believe in this sort of thing 😬

Now to go delete the picture off my phone entirely 🥴
