Aibu over lady using my parking spaces.

We live in a housing estate and each house or flat has one or two spaces allocated to them. Most of the spaces are directly outside our houses except a few that are round the side that have garages. The spaces aren't numbered but everyone seems to know who's is whose. There's a new neighbour that has moved in next door to me (a corner house) and has a garage parking space round the back of her house, however she uses both my spaces as she parks in the middle of them. It's quite annoying when there's nowhere else to park as you have to park further down the road.

I went over today and introduced myself and poilitley told her the spaces were mine and hers was round the back but she was welcome to use our other space when we don't have guests but could she park to one side so I can fit my car next to hers. She looked at me with a blank expression, said no and shut the door on me! What do I do now!? I just stood there for a moment open mouthed and then went home.

Now I'm not sure if she has mobility problems as she's not exactly nimble anymore (about 65) but I am shocked at her one word reply!

I think this must be the greatest thread that I have ever read. It's been a brilliant distraction while working on a novel - sadly it is historical fiction so I am unable to work a parking dispute into the narrative but maybe I'll get someone getting all up into other people's faces about stabling, or something.

Thanks OP! Grin

That's wicked OP, if she doesn't learn her lesson then you'll all have to do it again and go away for a fortnight!

frankie001 · 19/02/2015 19:14

Brilliant update! Does ndn know they are mundane famous?

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 19/02/2015 19:15

I really really hope she learns her lesson from all this. It's a nightmare when people decide to use your space as theirs. It's almost as if they're brains are wired wrongly, instead of being grateful for anything they receive that isn't theirs, instead they feel aggrieved when they don't get what is yours Confused

Good luck!

nilbyname · 19/02/2015 19:18

Thats kind of fantastic!

VivaLeBeaver · 19/02/2015 19:30

Nannyplum, please once this situation is resolved I hope you don't intend to let her park in your spare space after she's been so rude and horrible? Tell her to fuck the fuck off.

bloodyteenagers · 19/02/2015 19:46

I wonder if the ndn has called the management company to complain about her being blocked in? And how she took being told over the phone that she shouldn't be parking in other people's spots as per the letter stated. Would love to have heard that call lol.

LlamaLove · 19/02/2015 19:55

I would just love to know mad parking ladys thought process today when she realised she was fucked with regards to going out!

I wonder if the giving a shit penny has dropped for her yet!

donnie · 19/02/2015 19:55

oh God above how I love this thread.....thank you OP Grin
I'm loving nukspugget's suggestion of pay per view webcam....it could finance a new car for the OP - a massive hummer, perhaps?

Nannyplum2015 · 19/02/2015 19:59

ImperfectAlf · 19/02/2015 20:02

De-lurking to say that this is brilliant, as you all know, and if I don't find out what's happening, my DH is going to die of hunger. Neither of us wants to sort out dinner until we know!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 19/02/2015 20:02

This keeps getting better!

Keep the updates coming OP!

Nannyplum2015 · 19/02/2015 20:03

I had a nice cuppa and he's decided to let her out tomorrow (FONAR needs the car). It's turns out NAR and FONAR work together and NAR has been collecting his friend so he doesn't need the car during this week but he will be taking it away tomorrow half five ish. Apperently NAR's wife has been in a couple of times when she's knocked but ignored her. NAR is going round tomorrow after work and is going to lay down the parking rules!

Excellent. I hope NAR is going to update you with her response.

ImperfectAlf · 19/02/2015 20:05

Oops. x post. Sorry, OP.
I have to say, you and NAR are my heroes.....sigh

Comito · 19/02/2015 20:05

We need another thread so we find out what happens when NAR goes around to lay down the parking rules!

bubalou · 19/02/2015 20:05

X post!

That's great!!!

NAR is the new Jamie Dornan to us on this thread. Wink

Does anyone else picture a tall and tanned Adonis of a man in a tight t-shirt and slightly ripped jeans.

donnie · 19/02/2015 20:05
