Aibu over lady using my parking spaces.

We live in a housing estate and each house or flat has one or two spaces allocated to them. Most of the spaces are directly outside our houses except a few that are round the side that have garages. The spaces aren't numbered but everyone seems to know who's is whose. There's a new neighbour that has moved in next door to me (a corner house) and has a garage parking space round the back of her house, however she uses both my spaces as she parks in the middle of them. It's quite annoying when there's nowhere else to park as you have to park further down the road.

I went over today and introduced myself and poilitley told her the spaces were mine and hers was round the back but she was welcome to use our other space when we don't have guests but could she park to one side so I can fit my car next to hers. She looked at me with a blank expression, said no and shut the door on me! What do I do now!? I just stood there for a moment open mouthed and then went home.

Now I'm not sure if she has mobility problems as she's not exactly nimble anymore (about 65) but I am shocked at her one word reply!

EstRusMum · 17/02/2015 05:46

I read whole original penguin bollards thread. That was a good one. I just googled it in incognito mode. So now I don't have them all over my browsers.

Anyway, this one is quite good as well. Hope the stupid hippo situation will get sour for stupid hippo. Will wait patiently. BrewWink

Placemarking Grin

nunkspugget · 17/02/2015 07:29

NAR sounds like me as bit, I can never hold in rage!!

StarCrash · 17/02/2015 07:46

Ahh this reminds me of why I'm glad I don't live in a management company/allocated parking area anymore! always issues with parking!
We moved into ours before our ndn (new build) and once they moved in they started parking in our spaces. Refused to move as they thought it was theirs. Long story short, the developers tried to sell the same space twice! They definitely had our spaces on their plans, but not land registry. Took ages to sort but they refused to move until it was.

Another time someone parked in our space and dH blocked them in by parking behind them (at 90 degrees) and felt a note to say where we lived to move it. Woke up in the morning to find they had physically pushed our car out of the way and it was now blocking someone else/the road! Shock
We now have a drive THANK GOD

WhatchaMaCalllit · 17/02/2015 08:08

I'm dying to see the update where the NAR says to the NDN "Do I look like I give a shit" when NDN asks NAR to move their car that is blocking them in so they can't get to work this morning! Smile (or something to that effect)

DakotaFanny · 17/02/2015 08:17

Hello!

youarekiddingme · 17/02/2015 08:26

Love a parking thread Grin

We have the same set up re spaces in my estate but the spaces are numbered (mostly). Other than that we know unnumbered spaces are allocated. We have the street to park in if needs be.
In fact by your description I wonder if you do actually live in my street!

She's clearly not going to back down easily - clue being the parking over 2 spaces rather than just choosing a space. She's pissing you and NAR off massively and I sympathise - but at least she'll keep MN entertained for a while if she doesn't give in easily!.

Collaborate · 17/02/2015 08:35

OP - check your household insurance policy for legal cover. What she's doing is trespass. Your insurance may well cover the cost of a warning letter from a solicitor followed by an application to the court for an injunction to prevent future trespass. Also photograph her car every day that she parks in your space.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 17/02/2015 08:35

Oo, someones already probably thought of this, but is there any way that if you cant block her car in, you can park across her front door? Grin

If you change your mind on the moral high ground

forago · 17/02/2015 09:09

god I hope NAR gives it to her this morning

weeblueberry · 17/02/2015 09:17

Organise a sit in one day for when she's out and get all your friends and neighbours friends to come round and fill every single parking space so she can't stop anywhere when she arrives home.

Then ask her if it looks like you give a shit.

BunnyFint · 17/02/2015 09:25

Ooh! A parking thread.

MrsJohnLewis · 17/02/2015 09:32

.

BreeVDKamp · 17/02/2015 09:38

Hurrah for you and NAR!! Don't give her an inch, unite and nip this in the bud ASAP!! Glad you have an ally OP. And thanks for the regular updates, I hate an unupdated parking thread!

KitKat1985 · 17/02/2015 10:11

So OP, where is she parked today?

I bloody love a good parking / obnoxious neighbour thread. Grin x

SirChenjin · 17/02/2015 10:37

Update please, OP??!

Buttyfly · 17/02/2015 10:44
SirChenjin · 17/02/2015 10:56

The neighbour has killed the OP dead, hasn't she? Sad
Damn - now we'll never get an update Grin

wowfudge · 17/02/2015 10:58

I'd have thought it was obvious: waiting for bloody Royal Mail to deliver the letter. If it was posted yesterday first class it might arrive on Friday around teatime this afternoon.
