AIBU to ask DH to wear underpants?

JuniorMumber · 03/09/2014 22:13

Ever since we've lived together my DH has always enjoyed relaxing around the house with just a t-shirt on and no under garments. We jokingly refer to it as 'Donald Ducking'. Now that we've had a baby (six weeks ago today!) I think it's time he started wearing under crackers around the house. It just seems more appropriate. AIBU to ask this of him?

And get him to workout lifting heavy weights (leave "bigger leaner stronger" book about the house). In about a year he will resent wearing clothes and start taking his top off. Your house will be like a coke ad.

Buy a Rottweiler. They don't like to peel their snacks.

Stupidhead · 06/09/2014 18:03

Any joy on getting some cloth between his teatowel holder and the DFS?

Even my DP thinks it's weird and he is weird Wink

sweetnessandlite · 06/09/2014 18:17

Say you fancy eating some fried food (sausages and eggs) and would he cook it.
Some burning hot oil, sizzling and spattering all over HIS sausage should soon have him reaching for the pants.

"Buy a Rottweiler. They don't like to peel their snacks"

LOL. That's been tried and tested at my house BigChoc and it doesn't work I'm afraid. My Rottie crept up on my naked DP, gave him a friendly lick hello on the closest bit of bare flesh, which just happened to be his arse. DP let off a surprised squeal, turned around and pooch then licked his meat and two veg, LOL. No harm done, just a little dampness Grin

OP I'd suggest buying a PVC sofa. Skin adheres to the damn things, so no-one in their right mind would sit on one naked. You have to peel yourself off them and hope your skin stays with you!

"Teatowel holder". Oh god I think I've ruptured something.

JuniorMumber · 07/09/2014 09:16

Ok, so there has been some progress.

DH and I had a domestic yesterday about an unrelated issue, but I harnessed my anger and the moment to shout out: 'and I want you to start wearing underpants around the flat!!' as he walked away from me. He turned around and looked bemused, so I qualified the statement by saying it was unhygienic to do otherwise. He muttered an obscenity under his breath and walked off initially, but after the dust had settled half an hour later he came into the bedroom to make peace - donning a pair of underpants. He pointed out that he'd put them on especially for me, so now we are friends again and it seems like he's come to terms with the new arrangement.

Relieved.

So your DH made up with you by putting his pants on?
I thought it was more common to take the pants OFF to make up?

dontbesillyhenry · 03/03/2017 22:04

Another zombie thread that needs resurrection, featuring the infamous quote 'using your settee as a giant pair of pants' Grin
