Hi a bit tmi sorryBlush , we had some friends round tonight, we were having a nice chat when suddenly I got an agonizing stomach pain, it passed after a few seconds and I thought nothing of it until about five minutes later when it happened again then it started coming every few minutes, it felt like labor contractions. I had to excuse myself as the pain was so bad. I went to the bathroom, worried it was something I had eaten and there was something in my pants that looked like the mucus plug you loose in early labor probably about the size of two 5p coins stacked then the pain eased.
I went downstairs again and half an hour later it happened again, the regular pains then the loss. I am not pregnant and there was no bleeding just a slight pink tinge to the clots.
Any ideas? feeling a bit Confused

awful pains started again at 4 ish, woke dp as they were so bad he insisted on taking me to hospital so waited for fil to come and look after dcs and got to hospital at 5:30 ish. I was examined and was in labor and 5cm dilated. Still trying to come to terms with it all.

Oh wow! Congratulations! How on earth did you get to full term with no idea you were pregnant?

ImperialBlether · 17/08/2013 01:12

Oh my god! Oh my god!

Were you still having periods?

What about the KICKING?

AuntPittypat · 17/08/2013 01:13

Congratulations! What a shock you must have had. Hope you are all ok, and hope you enjoy getting to know your beautiful little surprise! Flowers

ImperialBlether · 17/08/2013 01:14

But... but... what about your belly? Wasn't it bigger?

thebeastisback · 17/08/2013 01:15

I have no idea. Had such awful sickness before, especially with ds and was huge with both of them. I have put on weight but not a huge amount, I thought I had just been overdoing it.
Feel a bit silly really but I honestly had no idea, maybe because I was so I'll during my last pregnancy that I didn't notice any symptoms this time

ImperialBlether · 17/08/2013 01:15

And Flowers of course!

Are you going to be in the newspaper?

SinisterSal · 17/08/2013 01:15

Oh that's crazy!

Best update ever

Congrats OP

thebeastisback · 17/08/2013 01:18

No newspapersBlush

I have felt like I had odd episodes of trapped wind which I now assume were kicks.

What a shock! Fab but shocking! I guess you'll have some shopping to do! We're you actually full term then? Can they tell exactly how far along with you having regular periods? Oh god you might have been overdue with no clue! I was huge when I had DD, I can't imagine not knowing! I suppose since you didn't get a big belly then the baby will have been in quite tight so not as much movement as you would expect so the kicking will have been minimal. DD was like an alien trying to break out I could grab her elbow and leg!

I'm shocked for you. What a lovely end to a bad belly ache!

DeepPurple · 17/08/2013 01:22

Have you named her?

thebeastisback · 17/08/2013 01:26

luckily we have kept most things from ds, we didn't find out the sex before he was born so lots of neutral first size things and still got cot, pram etc
in the loft.
Both my other dc have been like aliens trying to escape and although with hindsight I did feel some movements they were much softer and less frequent.
Midwife said she was around 38 weeks.

Totally outing myself ( as if I hadn't already) she is called Ella Grace

DeepPurple · 17/08/2013 01:30

What a lovely name! How on earth did your family react? I can't imagine making the calls to announce such an unexpected birth!

notanyanymore · 17/08/2013 01:31

Lovely name Smile congratulations! !

PeriodMath · 17/08/2013 01:31

You didn't feel the wriggling and squirming? I'm 36 wks and am aware constantly of what's inside me! I feel her bottom and knees and hands poking me all over. Did you never see your tummy moving? My jumps and shudders all the time and things stick out when baby is stretching.

What did she weigh? Do they think she was early?

Congratulations, of course. I'm glad you're glad about it.

thebeastisback · 17/08/2013 01:32

Thanks.
I was a wimp, told my parents, sister and best friend and asked them to tell everyone else Smile

Oh my goodness! Incredible! Congratulations, and welcome to the world little Ellla.

Definitely best ever outcome to a worrying health thread. I thought the people suggesting labour were being a bit hysterical, but no! Aww. :)

Rumours · 17/08/2013 01:33

Wow congratulations op Flowers

BumgrapesofWrath · 17/08/2013 01:34

Massive congratulations!! Wow!

PeriodMath · 17/08/2013 01:34

DeepPurple, I would have thought a small bump would make you much more aware of the movements. Have a very neat bump and feel as though baby is just millimetres below the surface - I feel every little squirm! Surely if you gain lots of weight and have a huge bump, baby as more room to spread out and you are "cushioned" from the body blows!

thebeastisback · 17/08/2013 01:35

period she weighed 6lb 3 oz.
I just can't explain it.
Going to try and get some sleep now. Night feeds do seem easier without the pregnancy worries they are still tough.

OP posts:
thebeastisback · 17/08/2013 01:37

I didn't gain that much weight but I was already too cuddly so the extra cushioning probably softened some of the movementsBlush

Sorry, I didn't mean the 'really?' to look as bad as it did.

Massive congratulations! Welcome Ella!

Would you like a stiff gin? You're bloody amazing! x
