Weird things your body does, and you wonder if it happens to others too?

I know Im not the only one.

I cant even be arsed to name change, here goes.

Nervous fanny.

You know when someone falls - hard and cracks their chin or elbow or whatever, my stomach drops, I get a shot of anxiety that shoots through the pit of my stomach down to my fanny. Right in the middle of my fanny I get a horrible feeling of anxiety.

Its only started in the last few years, its really unpleasant. Its like a bolt of aniexty, and I ONLY get it when someone hurts themselves. Wtf is that all about?

Anyway, what weird shit does your body do? Confess.

Javelin arse is a shooting pain in your arse that feels exactly like someone has rammed a javelin up it.

Midwife99 · 24/07/2012 22:11

Yeah I get that! I reckon it's high internal haemorrhoids!!

Midwife99 · 24/07/2012 22:38

Olivestree - do you think you're allergic to the toner?!!

Midwife99 · 24/07/2012 22:39

Duchesse - that is scary!!! Lol

youarekidding · 24/07/2012 22:49

This thread has had me in hysterics. Grin

I am glad to know I am not the only nervous fanny twitcher in the world though!

One of my hips sort of pops - apparently the muscles running vertical to the ball and socket aren't quite in the right place Hmm It's never come completely out of it's socket yet! but if I lean arkwardly it does make a funny popping noise!

NotGeoffVader · 24/07/2012 23:12

Here's another one - my left knee makes a rattling noise (or it could also be described as the sound of removing tape from a slightly porous surface) when I walk downstairs, always as I am shifting the weight on to it.
If I stand still and bend my knees it makes a bubbling noise and hurts.
My right knee is silent.

duchesse · 24/07/2012 23:45

My thing just makes me wonder if anyone ever has had a lovely butterfly tattooed on their arse and woken up morning to find they have a rude word on the forehead instead. It could happen...

Midwife99 · 24/07/2012 23:55

It could happen ..... But only if pregnant apparently!!

Midwife99 · 24/07/2012 23:57

I also have a noisy left knee but my right one is silent. Also I can only sneeze in threes! Either 3 or 6 sneezes but never any other number, apart from once when I did 9!!!

QueenStromba · 25/07/2012 00:01

I also sneeze in 3s, 6s and 9s (and sometimes 12s). The general consensus on javelin arse is that it's hormone related - some posters (including myself) only get it during periods and others attribute it to ovulation.

Midwife99 · 25/07/2012 00:07

Hmmmm interesting - I did get alot more javelin arse when pregnant so perhaps it is hormonal not haemorrhoidal!!! During my periods my SPD rears its ugly head a bit plus an aching right hip kicks in.

WishingRLwouldFuckOff · 25/07/2012 03:36

I actually do have a "standby button" but it is not a pressure point. It is an area on my neck, which, when stroked gently will actually send me to sleep. I am not very good at relaxing and not hugely tactile but stroking this spot will first make me relax and more tolerant to being touched (hugs etc) and the will send me to sleep. Useful to know when in the middle of a long bout of insomnia

I get the visual disturbance migraines, with tunnel vision that makes everything seem very far away. i also get the paralysis migraines with inability to speak coherently. I have strong med set up for dealing with this and it scares other people more then it does me these days. Also get the phasing out with the migraines - like some described previously, as if you suddenly wake up and you have no idea how or why. Had eeg and an ct scan so it is just migraines. But scary if you don't know.

Sometimes if I lie on my back you can see my pulse in my stomach. Just below the diaphragm is.

Clicky hip - check
displaced nerve pain - check

olivestree · 25/07/2012 09:03

I don't think it is the toner. It feels more like a sensitivity to some kind of electro magnetic photocopier force field. Blush

olivestree · 25/07/2012 09:05

I also have just one little spot on my forehead that sweats noticeably. Very annoying. DH tells me when my forehead is 'weeping' again.

garlicbutter · 26/07/2012 11:38

olives - "... sick building syndrome, such as sore eyes and throats, headaches and tiredness. ... the British Allergy Foundation (BAF) is warning that ozone, given off by office equipment such as photocopiers and computers, fax machines and printers, can make office workers ill. The gas can make asthma and allergies worse. And even people who are fit and well can be affected."
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/1238580.stm
Ozone is a biotoxin. Does it ring any bells?

garlicbutter · 26/07/2012 11:45

"If it is a chemical allergy, the risks of exposure to the allergen can be cumulative, which is why you may only be developing the allergy now. Inhaling the fumes of a photocopier once might not make you sick, but the more chemicals you are exposed to, the greater the chance of your health being negatively affected."

The face-copying might have given you a sensitising dose! And, yes, the irritants are gases, so would form a 'field' around the machine.

shaky · 26/07/2012 13:41

If I ever have to do an emergency stop in the car I get a sort of whooshing sensation through my whole body right to the ends of my fingers and toes. I think it is the adrenaline release.
I also get twitchy eye (very annoying).
Restless legs
Pinching my nose makes me sneeze.
No one is allowed to touch my knees, EVER. It makes me feel all weird.
Going into big supermarkets makes me want to cry.

Mintyy · 26/07/2012 13:44

When I eat chocolate my mouth hurts (not toothache) but a sort of ache in my jaw right at the back near the ears. Luckily (or perhaps because of this) I hardly ever eat chocolate.

olivestree · 26/07/2012 19:13

Oooh, maybe that is what I have. I don't get any of the above symptoms though. Only the ones I mentioned previously. And I am not often near photocopiers and when I am it is only for very brief periods, but I always get it and I have done since I was at school. Maybe it is an acute ozone allergy.

OHforDUCKScake · 31/07/2012 20:01

I cant believe my nervous fanny got my thread into Mumsnet Classics.

My fanny is now practically famous.

A big clap for Ducks' fanny!!! Oh wait a minute... better not... :P

EatingSwansHorror · 01/08/2012 07:03

I see words in my head as I speak and can flip them round and talk and write backwards as fast as I can forwards. No value apart fom as a party tick. Never met anyone else who can though...anyone out there??

EatingSwansHorror · 01/08/2012 07:03

Trick.

leguminous · 01/08/2012 13:28

If I poke my tummy button quite hard, a little spot right up my fanny kind of goes...zing. Almost an itch and almost a pain, but not quite either.
