I know Im not the only one.

I cant even be arsed to name change, here goes.

Nervous fanny.

You know when someone falls - hard and cracks their chin or elbow or whatever, my stomach drops, I get a shot of anxiety that shoots through the pit of my stomach down to my fanny. Right in the middle of my fanny I get a horrible feeling of anxiety.

Its only started in the last few years, its really unpleasant. Its like a bolt of aniexty, and I ONLY get it when someone hurts themselves. Wtf is that all about?

Anyway, what weird shit does your body do? Confess.

I get tingles when a cashier is processing my credit card.Seriously, all down my spine. It's odd,I know and quite enjoyable

garlicbutter · 21/07/2012 12:55

Oh, now I've written that I can smell bacon again! Dammit, it's like having a song stuck in your head!

TapirBackRider · 21/07/2012 13:36

Phantom smells can also be linked to migraines and epilepsy.

garlicbutter · 21/07/2012 13:48

Hmm, Tapir, since following links to all the fascinating quirks on this thread (Grin) I've realised I seem to have quite a few minor epileptic symptoms. I would much rather orgasm after a pee! Is there a Quirk Exchange?

TapirBackRider · 21/07/2012 13:50
Grin

I wish there was, other people's quirks are far more interesting than mine!

singleWhiteMale · 21/07/2012 14:43

I get nervous fanny, but I dont have a fanny Hmm. What a freak.

Also have photic sneeze reflex (sneeze in bright light).

Something weird that I haven't heard anyone else describe is that there is an invisible object in my right hand. It feels like a fairly large, soft disc. It's imaginary of course, but if I hold my hand cupped and imagine this disk moving about I can actually feel it. Only in the right hand though. Bizarre.

Sucksoutthejoy · 21/07/2012 15:32

What an excellent thread Grin I get nervous fanny particularly if I'm running late for something or can hear an annoying repetitive noise e.g dog barking. I find irritating noises physically painful, twitchy fanny and gripy stomach, really unpleasant. The human body is fascinating.

AmberNectarine · 21/07/2012 16:07

My toes crack when I walk. This is probably some degenerative disease like osteoporosis isn't it?

I believe DH suffers from javelin arse. I haven't been very sympathetic up until now, but it is obviously debilitating...

feckingnora · 21/07/2012 16:58

i too get javelin arse, but only when on my period! I asked my doctor what the hell it was he said it was because i had a tilted uterus?! I called it my butt cramps.

BerryCheesecake · 21/07/2012 17:35

An wondering about nervous fanjo, and if I have something similar. How ever mine is not triggered by nerves, it's anything particularly heart warming and I get like a 'wave' in my fanjo / womb area! It's a nice feeling and seem to get it whenever something is
Particularly lovely. It only lasts a second and cannot be recreated. Feels nothing like arousal before anyone says Grin

nbee84 · 21/07/2012 18:39

Sometimes when I wake up in the morning I will have a small itch on my hand - maybe between my fingers, the base of my thumb or the back of my hand. It then grows and spreads at least halfway up my arm and nothing relieves it. I don't feel the need to scratch it with my nails but have to rub it intensely with a towel or hold it under cold running water. It can last 5 - 20 mins before it just disappears. I presume it's to do with nerves and the way I've slept on that arm.

BuntyCollocks · 21/07/2012 18:40

If I get a fright, it's like someone gives me an electric shock all over my body.

I also have nervous fanjo.

If I'm watching someone on something ridiculously high, in real life or telly, my stomach lurches.

Not me this time but my Dad. If he was coming down with something, for several days before, he'd lose is memory. Very weird and worrying for him.

SummerRain · 21/07/2012 20:12

Just remembered another. a few years ago I started getting tiny red dots all over my arms and torso. Teeny tiny little blood spots, if i gently scrape them with a nail they disappear and then another tiny drop of blood comes to the surface. But more bizarrely I have a huge cluster of them on my left knee, it looks like a fresh graze/blood bruise.... sometimes it fades and is barely visible, other times it's really bad. Can't take aspirin as I get thousands of the blood spots and panic!

aurynne · 21/07/2012 22:25

LaQueen, I think your mum also has echolalia... when somebody catches me repeating or mimicking what somebody else said, I also feel incredibly embarrassed and upset. Please be understanding to her :)

claudedebussy · 21/07/2012 22:47

Sparklegeek i also get the elastic band pinging in my neck! it's awful. glad i'm not alone - there are 2 of us now.

i also get pins and needles in my hands if i get a shock, like trip or miss a step. very annoying. it only happens a couple of seconds after i get the shock so i spend that time anticipating the pins and needles, which somehow makes it worse...

Whiteworm · 21/07/2012 22:51

LaQueen my mum does that too! I get a shooting stabbing pain in my in one of my breasts. Always hoped it was a growing pain. Sadly not. But it hurts so much it makes me wince and groan out loud.

Also if I am parking and feel nervous because people are waiting for me, my right leg starts shaking uncontrollably.

Whiteworm · 21/07/2012 22:54

Also cannot bear chalk, velvet boart rubbers, cheap felt tip pens that squeak when a child presses too hard. My arms goosebump and I cannot stand it. I had to ask the mother (luckily a friend) whose child was colouring in at the dinner table to stop. It is so bad I cannot put up with it.

Fiendishlie · 22/07/2012 00:07

I also have the 'stroke-like' symptoms with migraine. My consultant told me it was because a migraine is a compression of the blood vessels in the brain, a stroke being a blockage or a bleed, so very similar in extreme cases.
My DS sneezes in sunlight.
I get the mini orgasms and also the sleep ones, I think of it as a female wet-dream.
One other person upthread mentioned the black and white patterns seen when a loud noise is heard when my eyes are shut. Very weird!
I'm another who cannot burp. Ever. Gets annoying sometimes. I fart a lot

SuddenlyMadameGlamour · 22/07/2012 07:42

Migraines are scary aren't they fiend? I had had them for years and never seen the doctor as I knew what they were cos my mum got them, but when I started getting them frequently so went to gp. They immediately panicked and took me straight off the combined pill cos the combination puts you at a much greater risk of stroke (only if you have aura symptoms)! Was very annoying as it was the only thing that helped with my troublesome periods, and have never been able to get on with progesterone only. I even asked if I could go back on it at my own risk but they wouldn't let me. Sad

Seems daft as when I first went on the pill I smoked 20/day and much less fit and active than I am now. And I still had migraines they just never thought to ask! Grin

Timepasses · 22/07/2012 08:03

I have suffered with javelin arse since I was a child. Glad i now know the correct medical termGrin

I also get a pain in the same tooth whenever i have any type of illness.

It is comforting to know I am not the only one who has these strange pains.

FrankieAndArthur · 22/07/2012 08:05

I have very slight nerve damage on my left leg and occasionally I get the sensation that the front of my thigh is wet. It feels really real and I have to check despite knowing it is fake.

I also get the thing where you scratch one place but feel it in another.

I have a small hole in the roof of my mouth which I can suck air through and sort of 'whistle'.

When I am very stressed, and usually just before a Migraine, I will be convinced to the state of anxiety that I have left the house undressed. Part of me knows it is irrational and the bother part has to pat my clothes until that part of my brain recognises I am dressed.

Sometimes when I get out of bed in the morning, I get what feels like electric shocks in my toes. And it hurts!

FrankieAndArthur · 22/07/2012 08:08

Oh and I get the phantom smells thing, especially in my dreams.
The two main ones are smoke and I have to get up to check nothing is burning, and an aftershave. Despite no one in the house using it.

onmehols · 22/07/2012 08:15

Twitchy eye anyone? People say you cant see it but ive looked in the mirror and you can. I also get a feeling in the arch of my foot as if it will split if I walk normally so i have to walk with my foot scrunched up.
