Hiya Rubester.

DH and I have been to Las Vegas twice - long before there were any sons at our house. We loved it too. We lived in Utah and travelled all around the West coast in 1980/1981 - came home and applied for our work permits. The same day we got that one step further with the permits we found out I was pregnant with the twins....that certainly clipped our wings. Oh happy days xx

Thumbs up for the cowboy boots - they sound just fab!! I have only just recently chucked my t shirt that said right across the front - I'VE ESCAPED FROM ALCATRAZ - incidentally I really love San Francisco the most out of all the places I visited in America. Probably because they have loads of nutcases living there and thats what I am used to.

Hello all - I am back in "sunny" England! Landed late last night at MAnchester and yes, am in work today! I must be mad. Its not too bad actually because we had a few nights in Dubai on the way back (not my cup of tea) so only had a 7 hour flight to contend with and a few hours time difference.

Aus was differetnt this time round, I cant make my mind up how I feel about it, it used to feel like everyone was the same and that there was no class divide but this time it has felt like there is much more of a gap forming between rich and poor. And it is expensive all of a sudden - weak pound not helping! We are now in even more of a quandary about whether we should go and live there or not....its too hard!

Anyway enough about me - I have tried to catch up but struggled so hurrah for FG with her round up! Congrats to Oooggs and to Meeely on your news and welcome to Lydle. Of course huge congrats too to Shabster on becoming a grandma and to Triplets on becoming an honorary grandma!

Must away to do some work.....hope all is well with everyone.

MarsLady · 16/06/2008 14:26

How's HD?

lydle3 · 16/06/2008 14:34

Hi everyone,

Had an awful time at the hospital this morning. they managed to get 100 mls out of cyst, hand function returning and eyelid looks better, but they said to me that by draining such large amounts frequently, they run the risk of a bleed to the brain and they asked me if that happened would i like them to resusitate her or not, they needed to know as their wouldnt be time if it happened. I was very shocked and upset, what a question to ask a parent .....havent given an answer, said i will think on it.
Just wondering if any of you have any thoughts on this ?????? They said a bleed would be like a big stroke.

so many tears while she was painting in the playroom, they washed my face and put on my brave face, went for scan and await the results, maybe by Thursday. Sorry to add such a gloomy post to this cheerful thread !!

MarsLady · 16/06/2008 14:36

It's why we're here lydle... not just the happy but the sad and the downright fecking awful moments! [encouraging smile]

MarsLady · 16/06/2008 14:39

We know exactly whose bobos you are holding down young lady!

lydle3 · 16/06/2008 14:43

Thanks Mars

So heres a really horrid hypothetical question, i dont want to upset anyone, but i know some of you are berieved, and would really value your opinion, would you want that child here at any cost, or would you say no if they were badly brain damaged and didnt have much quality of life.

My selfish parent says save her at any cost, i will care for her, but im not sure she would want that, but i couldnt ask her beacause shes 8.

lydle3 · 16/06/2008 14:43

sorry my selfish parent side of me ...

shabster · 16/06/2008 14:43

lydle - Mars is right - we are always here to help each other.

To doctors statements and questions like that are everyday parts of their job - but to mums I dont know what I would have said - think I would still be crying.

Theres nothing worse than your child being so poorly. My little baby had two holes in his heart, leaking pulmonary valve, lung problems.......it is heartbreaking but you have to try to not let them see the sadness.

Will be thinking about you my darling....chin up - you can borrow my smiley mask if you want to - Im sure I have a spare one somewhere
