37+2
DCDA fraternal girls.
I’d a c-section as twin 1 was breech.

LightSpeeds · 21/01/2024 23:29

Induced, natural delivery and twin 2 was breach born in her sack

36 +1. Fraternal DCDA. Elective c section (and they removed cervical stitches as I’d in fact gone into v early Labour at 21 weeks which they stopped with drugs then stitches). I had my eldest (singleton) by natural birth (gas and air only) and while it wasn’t long (9 hours) I’d now always always recommend an elective c section!!!😜

Induction at 38+3 but wish I'd let myself go naturally...
Had them vaginally but the midwife did have to put his hand inside me to pull T2 into a better position as he was frank breech... Felt like a puppet haha...
Edit to add DCDA

fraternal girls
C section due to pre eclampsia
both breach

Stayeduptoolateagain · 22/01/2024 00:00

39+5 planned c section. Fraternal boys. They were 6lbs and 7lbs!

MissSmiley · 22/01/2024 00:00

38.5 weeks
Went into labour naturally (was 4cm at a midwife appointment and I hadn't realised) labour started a few hours later.
Had C section at 7cm due to midwife thinking she could feel a blood vessel in the sac, it was where the two sacs joined.
7lbs each

ChimneyPot · 22/01/2024 00:01

35+2 identical MCDA girls.
Vaginal following just over an hour in labour. They caught everyone by surprise but I was already in hospital for observation for pre eclampsia and obstetric cholestatis

Opine · 22/01/2024 00:42

Fraternal.
Induced at 40+1
vaginal delivery.

saamantha19881 · 23/01/2024 20:30

rickandmorts · 23/01/2024 20:35

For those that had twins vaginally, how long was there between each twin? What do you do with twin 1 whilst you're giving birth to twin 2? Does the dad or birth partner hold them and do skin to skin? Sorry being nosy as I just always presumed they were born via c-section!

idontlikealdi · 23/01/2024 20:46

31+2, Emcs following placental abruption, also had TTTS.

7 minutes between mine, T1 was being checked over by the midwives/having cuddles with Dad while T2 made his way into the world...

Opine · 23/01/2024 23:56

@rickandmorts

18 minutes between them. I held the first then they were passed to DH. The second needed to turn from transverse so I had to move position.
Both at the breast within minutes of the second being born.

C section is of course an option but if the first twin has a favourable presentation then vaginal delivery is possible too. Many twins are born vaginally.

i was encouraged by the consultant to have a c section and harassed about induction at 37wks(for no valid reason) but I did what I wanted with the support of my midwife. I agreed to induction in the end because they weren’t budging and their heartbeats were so in sync that monitoring couldn’t distinguish who was who anymore. It was the right time.

ChimneyPot · 24/01/2024 00:43

8 minutes between them and twin 1 was being checked by a NICU team.
i didn’t have a plan as it had been a very high risk pregnancy due to preeclampsia and a liver disorder with a plan for an induction, followed by a short trial of labour which was to move quickly to a section of not progressing.
A spontaneous vaginal of labour that was too quick for any intervention wasn’t on anyone’s agenda.
Both babies were discharged from NICU within 30 minutes.
I was in shock that everything had been so straight forward.

35 weeks. Identical boys. C-section was planned, but my waters broke a few weeks early, they didn't want to wait!

Ladyj84 · 24/01/2024 01:00

Girls, 35 weeks and a straightforward home birth like my singles

HolidayHappy123 · 24/01/2024 01:38

33 weeks
Fraternal
C-section because they gave me the option and I'd had a couple of hours of contractions and didn't fancy going the whole way.

Redcar78 · 24/01/2024 05:54

28 weeks, fraternal boys, emergency c section
