Help please - newborn twin prams!!!

Just found out we are having twins!

Been looking at prams, I really don't want a side by side and I can't afford £800!

I don't like the graco stadium duo.

What other choices do I have? Have seen the kids largo duellette, can anyone recommend??

What do/did you have??

Honestly, tandem buggies (imo) are pretty crap.

I had an icandy which I hated! I got rid of it when my twins were 16 months and got a Out and About Nipper. It is a great buggy, light and easy to push. We never had problems fitting through doors and on the bus. They are really affordable too and you can pick them up for around £100 second hand.

The majority of twins mums I know (and I know a lot!) have a Nipper.

Honestly do reconsider a side-by-side. Nipper or BJCM or Mountain Buggy tend to be the ones I see the most of. You should be able to pick most up second hand.

Out n about nipper is a fab buggy. So easy to push. I have a phil and teds navigator tandem as well but much prefer the nipper (as do the dcs).

Thankyou, funny I was totally against a side by side but now after having a look I do like the nipper and a couple of others.

We have a tandem one (egg) but only because it's the only one that will fit through the ridiculously skinny front door- which is VITAL!

I would love to have a side by side nipper- it's definitely the most popular one in our twins club.

Have to agree with the last comment on the peach, I had one for my girls and my sister has one for her twin boys. I great compact pushchair that is easy to use and really good looking.

The icandy is tiny though for bigger children. Almost everyone seems to swapnit once children 18 months. I can't imagine x2 3 year olds fitting in for example if needed

The mountain buggy duet is narrowest side by side, but the nipper is cheaper and lighter

I spent loads on an uppababy vista. It was amazing for 9 months and then it just became really really heavy to push around. Any kind of uphill walk became miserable. I ended up getting a second hand city mini side-by-side and I'm really happy with it. It goes through almost all doors and it's so much lighter and easier to use.

Thankyou, I can't stretch to an egg or vista or icandy im afraid, I have too much to buy as starting from scratch-the mountain buggy duet and the nipper are the two I think I will look at.

We have been looking on eBay/preloved.. so many really good quality prams at fabprices available!

I bought a second hand nipper used it for four years....And sold it for a tenner less than I paid :)

I had a super narrow front door and had twins when ds1 was just two. Got a Jane tandem as was only thing that would fit thru front door, also had a mountain buggy in the car (2 year old cld sit on top, got it 2nd hand off Tamba msg boards and self it for same as I bought it for ). Borrowed a Graco SD off nursery when I bust the Jane abs had to send it off for repair. Once twins were about 18 months I picked up a second hand nipper.

All had good and bad points. The Jane was the most useful for two with my v narrow door, the MB was a lifesaver for moving all 3 around on my own, Nipper was great and so easy and the Graco I could fit all 3 in if nesc not it had the turning circle of an oil tanker.

I eventually worked out how to transport 2x2 yr olds and a whingy 4yr old on a single maclaren techno (flatten seat, sit two yr olds back to back so one faces pushing parent, have 4 yr old stand in foot strap facing parent and hold uprights!)!

I'm swaying between a nipper and a mountain duet - I don't know if the extra cost for the duet is worth it, I know it's a few Cms narrower, but you have to pay extra for everything else, Like the rain cover!!

Does the nipper fit through doorways? It won't go through my living room door, but my front door was ok.
Would it fit in the rear of a zafira?with all 7 seats in use??

Lots of twins in my town. General consensus is to use the baby jogger city select until they are on the move and then move to a side by side (either the baby jogger CM GT - tires make the push easier, or the the mountain buggy duo).

I had the out n about for a newborn and toddler and it's great. My only issue is the awkward basket underneath. One of my best ever buys

THe best thing to do is go somewhere with both those prams and your car and try them in the car for size

I think the mountain buggy would beat the upper on size for me as much narrower for doors and shopping aisles and buses. But the nipper is probably lighter to lift into car
