You can get that BT thing which means if they ring they are in serious trouble. will try to find out.

Oh - RavenAK has mentioned it, get that. But then also complain about the three times they have rung.

How upsetting for you what fools

ClausImWorthIt · 16/12/2008 22:58

Well - not my brother's company. A relief for me, but also means I can't help you personally with it.

inscotland · 17/12/2008 09:43

Pieroth are known for not giving up. I have had to complain about them several times. I have caller display on my phone so whenever the 01786 number comes up I just don't answer. They phoned 11 times last night!

Write to head office by recorded delivery.

lou33 · 17/12/2008 09:48

what about also signing up for the bt choose to refuse service?

for about 11 pounds per quarter it gives you the option to block up to 10 numbers from calling your landline, including withheld ones i believe

sorry you have to go through this, i do hope they leave you alone now x

eemie · 17/12/2008 14:01

Report them to the Data Protection Registrar. They are committing a criminal offence by keeping your husband's details on their database after you have asked for them to be removed.

scubagroover · 17/12/2008 14:20

I think that it is the Information Commissioner to report them to and I had to do this once (nothing as upsetting as you) and they took it very seriously. If you go to www.ico.gov.uk it looks like they have a section on how to stop unwanted phone calls etc.

Ivykaty44 · 17/12/2008 19:12

eemie - data protection doesn't apply, unfortunately it only applies to living people.

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 18/12/2008 07:21

I'm so sorry.

You've had some good advice and I vote for e-mailing the chief ex/chairman direct. Normally their e-mails address are very easy just their name and @ the business.

this is them I would copy in the owner and the uk sales manager

NotQuiteCockney · 18/12/2008 07:42

Hmmm, DH works with the data protection act, and says 'marketing suppression' portion of it applies here - if you tell them, on your DH's behalf, that he does not wish to have any marketing contact from them from henceforth, that should stop it.

piscesmoon · 18/12/2008 07:59

I would write to them and tell them how upset you are.

Good emails. Do you think it would be a good idea that MNers email them and flood their inboxes with a standard email saying how disgusted we are with their behaviour IF they dont respond? Get them where it hurts them(potential/excisting customers ...)

  • and that's it!!!
midlandsmumof4 · 19/12/2008 01:48

This is awful. Firstly register with TPS. www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/.This should stop the phone calls. there is also an equivalent service for stopping junk mail. Do a google but don't pay cos u can do it free & it works .

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 19/12/2008 11:15

TBH nothing they said would ahve been good enough but they could try!!!

Shiner · 19/12/2008 11:16

That's a really poor response from the company, but I just wanted to mention that it is completely typical of many German firms. I live in Germany, and have almost exploded with rage on several occasions at the sheer cheek, rudeness or unhelpfulness of shop assistants/firm staff here. It doesn't seem to be deliberate, since I get the impression that for the most part, the Germans are lovely people. But they really should keep out of customer service jobs.

It won't be any consolation to you, but at any one time there is for sure a large number of people in Germany all spluttering with indignation at the poor customer service they have received.

I hope you manage to have a good Christmas despite all this.
