PREMIUM BONDS MAY/JUNE 2026

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2026 13:19

PB have been about since 1957
Been 30yrs (April 2024) since a million was then the highest prize

Each bond is £1. You have to buy in minimum of £25 so means 25 chances to win every purchase - years ago you could buy £1 at a time.

Odds of winning £1 million on Premium Bonds at face value with £25 bonds are

1 in 2,737,857,636 - but 2 people have to win it every month so ……

To win anything odds are 1 in 23000

So providing you have more than £100 you have better odds winning something from pb than winning the lottery 😄

And obviously far better than the lottery - you don’t lose your stake !!!!!!

https://www.saga.co.uk/money-news/premium-bonds

Bonds have to be in for a clear month before going into the draw

If you want to cash bonds in then usually takes 3 days to go into your account

Winnings can be reinvested if holdings are under £50k

This means they will go into the next months draw without losing a month

Or sent to named bank account if winnings take over FH /want winnings in bank account
More info here

www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en/savings/types-of-savings/premium-bonds

The best time to buy premium bonds is on the last day of the month, as this means they are only held by NSI for one month and one day, without being entered into the prize draw.

PB to me is the fun and thrill each month of what if I win big and a millionaire - to then hoping win thousands to a day or two later being grateful if win £25😂

I have nowhere near the maximum and probably never will unless I win £50k + on pb

But only takes one £1 to win that million !!! Or in fact any prize

I love seeing the low holdings win high amounts

We've seen over the years £100 holding win a million (March 25) also a £100 holding win £100k and £50 win £25k and even £1 won £10k

Maximum is £50k per person so some do have all for family- mum dad and 2 kids so £200k etx

Those on the thread are varying from few hundred /few thousand - to 20/30k to full holdings of £50k

Everyone is welcome to join in whether small or full holdings

Obviously some people have better 'luck' than others and some worse - Ie full holdings and not winning anything a month or two or even longer

PB odds calculator below

https://pbprizes.com/calculator/

shows the interest rate of the winnings - obv anything over 3.30% is good as if in an account you wouid be taxed so be more like 3%

In August 2023, we had the highest 4.65% But it has been steadily falling since, and of April 2026 it’s 3.3 %

The consistent winners are the 1.16 million people who have the maximum £50,000.

They hold almost half of all premium bonds and, at current odds of 1/2300 can expect a monthly stream of tax-free prizes: two a month and three almost every other month, 28 or 29 a year totaling £1650 (3.3% interest on £50k)

So the median average will always be lower than the mean average.

This means that, with average luck, most people will win less than the prize rate each year, regardless of how many bonds they hold

To work out your own personal % rate
Winnings divided by amount have x 100

But many on here do have £50k and then consider moving it to an account that pays 4% if their bonds aren't doing very well as would then def get extra money

But remember savings /interest get taxed

PB and their winnings don't

So anything over 3% in winnings is considered good.

People dither whether to pull out from pb and put in high interest account if not winning anything so that they will def earn x amount of interest

But then lose the what if won a million or £100k

If you have PB but not sure if you have ever won esp if moved about a lot

There are 2 apps afaik
Cream - prize checker and if won previous month will show a pic - which we all get excited over 😂😂😂

Blue - the app its self works but the showing early often doesn't work for me but those who reinvest their winnings say it shows if won the day before app shows 🙀🙀🙀

Seems the higher the winnings the earlier it shows and can be from 6pm the night before the app shows

And to confuse things I have a White app that is a bookmark - which shows info/list 😄😄😄

Now this has been debated on MANY times but seems to be correct

When do we find out if going to get a visit from AM 😂

The two winners of the £1million prizes will be contacted by Agent Million (AM) 😂😂 the day before the first working day of the corresponding month.

There may however be exceptions to this, such as when the first working day of the month is a bank holiday, for example.

So
AM - Day before first working day - Millionaire knock /call

LIST - First day of working month showing all winners million to £1k winners - which I always put up for those who can't find it

APP - Day after first working day , including weekends - cream app showing all winnings

You can also check to see if have won via this link with your holders number

www.nsandi.com/prize-checker

Hopefully I've covered everything
Good luck one and all 😄

I won £525 on 40K Holdings and DH got £125 on £32k holdings.
We're happy with that, tend to get at least one little win between us every month and it's set to reinvest, we're aiming to build up to FH each.

JollyHostess101 · Today 08:11

@WTDACcongratulations but I know how you feel take having redundancy and loosing a parent in a short space of time recently! Take some time and see how work pans out first!

£100 on just over 10k for me…. Weirdly having better luck now I have less after paying for the building work maybe @Blondeshavemorefun
smaller holdings luck has rubbed off!

RosaMoline · Today 08:12

£100 for me.

Netaporter · Today 08:15

WTDAC · Today 07:51

I invested the full £50,000 after my Mum died and my siblings and I sold her house last year. Have had lots of little wins since then, a few hundred some months, and some months nothing.
Was tempted to take it out and reinvest, but never got round to it.
Checked the app at midnight last night and I've won £25,000!
Weirdly, it has made me feel really sad. I am going though a redundancy process and am about to turn 60, and this should be such a boost, but it feels odd. I can't even decide whether to tell my family, or how much to give people.

I guess it's because I would have talked about stuff like this with my Mum.😥

So sorry for your loss, but huge congratulations for your win!

you don’t need to decide what to do right now. You may well need the money if the redundancy programme doesn’t go your way so I’d sit on it for now. The universe has a way of giving you what you need and I’m firmly in the camp of what’s meant for you does not pass you by’ so resist the temptation to share your good fortune until you are certain you don’t need it for yourself. You’ve told us, and we’re thrilled for you 😘

jmstar · Today 08:16

£125 for me and only have £1000 in there so very happy. Also won £100 back in August so great returns!

EdwinaLIzzard · Today 08:18

I have won £300 this month on FH spread across 7 prizes which is amazing in itself - very happy indeed with this.

Huge congratulations to @WTDAC a wonderful win but bittersweet memories of your mum 💐

well done to all winners, large or small, and hugs to those who have not been so lucky this month 🧡

Jins · Today 08:24

Congratulations on the win @WTDAC and I understand the feelings you have as my FH is money from the sale of my late mum’s house too. I see every win as a gift from her. In your position I’d definitely be seeing it as a gift to help you out through redundancy etc. Personally I wouldn’t be making any gifts from that amount at this point in your life and I wouldn’t rush into doing so.

Feelinglucky2025 · Today 08:26

1 prize of £100 for me this month on nearly £16k. This is the biggest single prize and most I’ve won in one month so I’m really pleased. Nothing for DD’s but they have very low holdings.

Goldenphoenix · Today 08:28

£500 win for me this month. It's the most I have ever won so am very pleased!

Lilly11a · Today 08:32

nothing on just over 7k , I ll see you all next month

Happiestathome · Today 08:35

I couldn’t quite make it to midnight and fell asleep in the 10 minutes before. Unusual for me to be a breakfast checker. £200 over 4 prizes, which is a lovely start to the day.

Won £5000 on FH, 😀 happy days.

Congratulations WTDAC, definitely take time out, I had a win in the past and it caused problems, unfortunately people change when money is involved, even family...if I could do it again I would have told nobody!

claireymrsd · Today 08:41

£125 for me on FH (£100 & £25). Takes my winnings for 2026 to £1075 now.

Congrats to all the winners.

Blondeshavemorefun · Today 08:42

@FabulousFreshias well done. This months winner so far

hellswelshy · Today 08:42

£50 here on 8.5k holdings- very pleased as I withdrew £2k last month so wasn't expecting anything. Congratulations to the winners and better luck next time everyone else!

Blondeshavemorefun · Today 08:45

That was short lived.

wow @WTDAC

i wouldn’t tell people. Your siblings obv all got the same £50k after house

and this will make your life easier

sorry about your mum but I’m sure she would be looking down smiling

Vinorosso74 · Today 08:45

Congratulations to all you winners. Some decent prizes too.
Nothing again for me. I only have £300 so my odds are low but even a small win would be nice.
I was going to add at the end of April but completely forgot so have set a reminder to add at the end of this month.

LatteLady · Today 08:49

After a couple of months of no wins, I have come back with £50, for which I am v pleased, taking my total for 2026 up to £200 on £12k.

@WTDAC I am sorry to read about your redundancy but pleased that your mum has given you a boost via the monies she had left you. Sit on it a little while until you decide what you would like to do... it is not going to tell anyone and it will be going nowhere... and maybe you could get yourself a treat from your mum to celebrate.

3678194b · Today 08:51

Just thought I'd log on and check, was surprised results were there as I thought they might not show until after the BH.

Anyway £250 won on both accounts, FH. Quite happy as some months get zilch. Also better than my Euromillions attempt last night!

Villanellesproudmum · Today 08:56

@WTDACsorry to hear about your mum it must be hard sounds like she is still wrapping her arms around you. ☺️

I won £500 really grateful, hold £8k.

freezingmytoesoff · Today 08:59

Last month of premium bonds for me before we cash out for our house deposit, so was hoping for a little something to help with moving and it’s the first time in a year I’ve won nothing on FH.

Disappointing but had a good run! Congrats to all the winners!

EightSteps · Today 09:02

£150 on FH. Happy with that.

Well done to all the winners, especially @FabulousFreshias (amazing ROI!) and @WTDAC. Yes, it's bittersweet, but as others have said, just sit on it for a while. I'm sorry for your loss, and hope things work out with the redundancy. (Agree that your Mum would be smiling down on you).

thornbury · Today 09:03

Congrats winners! We both have FH, nothing for either of us. Total this year £50 me, £750 him, so pretty crap really. DH's chemo side effects have massively kicked in now and we could have done with a nice win to boost the mood around here.

3678194b · Today 09:05

Hypothetical question, if anyone knows. Say you do win a million. When you log into the App, would it show this? Do you still get a visit from Agent Million?

I quite like the thought of the old days, it being a surprise getting an unexpected knock on the door, wondering who is that, being told hello I'm from Premium Bonds. Not being sure if this is real or not. The shock and excitement of it! I'm presuming the person didn't get prior notification that they would be visited!

HouseHouseHouse7 · Today 09:05

Nothing on my first month of FH which is disappointing but I’m hopeful for June.

I’ve maxed my ISA and pension for 2026/27 so will be keeping the PB until at least the April 2027 draw.

I am happy that big wins on here went to someone who has been ill and someone who is facing redundancy whilst bereaved.
