Yawn has a response from Virgin on the latest post. I’m guessing she’s yet to take it right to the very top as the response is very much generic customer service speak. Unless she can produce the proof they said her return flight was confirmed she will get nowhere.

I thought this trip was all expenses paid? Surely if FL pay for all flights and transportation then it’s up to THEM to get this rep home? Why are they acting like it’s some grand gesture? Do they get given an allowance for flights instead?

Oh wow. Virgin have commented on her face book post. Obviously they are worried about the Sun getting hold of it by tomorrow. I would be very worried if I had exaggerated the story. Libel is a serious business. And as I said above they will have a recording of the call and of any correspondence they have had with Yawn.

Don't worry everyone I reckon Virgin are going to be ok. Litigation is expensive and Yawn can't afford to sue. It's not free for things like this, and she's not out of pocket as FL paid for the ticket so she can't use the cheap small claims court to claim it back.

Her threat of "never flying Virgin again" is also empty. She can't afford to go where Virgin fly so they're safe on that empty threat too. It's not like she's some trans Atlantic model like Kate Moss back in the day flying back and forth across the pond every week, a trip to Manchester in a Fiesta and a night in a Village Hotel is lauded by Yawn, so they're not loosing any repeat business.

I know this is a geeky derail but what do you actually do in this situation if you're Scot bot?

Claim the whole wasted virgin flight on travel insurance? Or can they sort it if you can prove outbound some other way?

there’s a lot of naivety and entitlement being displayed by Yawn. I suspect that normally ‘someone else’ does all the checking of documents and booking (mr Y) and it never crossed her mind. And Scotbot just was there as a plus one and will have assumed it was all under control
