BOTWATCH 78 - the latest in a long series of threads where we keep an eagle eye on the lies and deceptions practised by MLMs. Unbelievably people are still being hooked in by these schemes where 97% of those who join LOSE MONEY and the top bots are struggling to pretend they are taking it in

Thanks @ticktock19. If it will make it easier for her I can give her the dates of the posts from the last 12-14 months that are confusing or rather contradictory! The ability to screenshot is not her friend.

I’ve never seen any size 20 clothes on her Vinted page or 18 for that matter.

Nope, funny that....

YouOKHun · 04/09/2023 18:26

@WilkinsonM before she started her WL journey she was very careful about the images she put up and during her “journey” she carefully edited the photos on her SM. This was obvious as her photos were very different from the ones that snuck through on other bots’ SM. I think the before (half way through) photo was taken earlier in 2022. I also noticed that early on in her WL is avoided mentioning her starting weight and would only show transformation photos, it was only in the second half of 2022 she gets more specific about her starting weight.

I guess it’s tricky to strike a balance between posts that will be ego massaging and aspirational yet relatable and interesting enough to keep your followers engaged. What isn’t required in the mix is honesty.

SnoogyWoo · 04/09/2023 18:39

Did anyone catch the live where castle was talking about down sizing, can’t seem to find it anywhere.

Angrymum22 · 04/09/2023 21:01

I had a quick scroll through it because the first five mins was the usual hi x, hi y, oh that’s so lovely if you z. It was just about her experience developing a 10figure income but how she would have been a 20 figure income if only she had sought out the right coaching.
It didn’t really address downsizing apart from a reference to the new abode ( I presume it’s smaller and has no swimming pool).
The only bit that stood out was her realisation that social media is all fake and everyone is making up what a wonderful life they are leading. She used her recent experience of an all inclusive holiday with her children which apparently was awful. Presumably because she had no one to look after the children while she relaxed.

Angrymum22 · 04/09/2023 21:04

I think the all inclusive dig was to her exbff who recently posted about their perfect all inclusive resort.
I think she may be about to pull the plug on scamversity and just offer 1 to 1 expensive coaching.

After being quite quiet of late Uber suddenly seems to have woken up.

Her Insta story mentions that she's suffered from anxiety over the last 5 years. I can't help but wonder if this is like the shyness/lack of confidence that she claims to have had when younger but someone on here (sorry can't remember who) who knew her back then said it's bullshit.

I guess it all part of the "look at little old me, I'm just like you and I'm so successful. You could be to" line to draw in fresh blood.

Sugarplum48 · 04/09/2023 23:19

Yawn is much akin to vetuca salt from the mystical film Charlie and the chocolate factory. One moment she's a normal size 12, then she's a huge 14, 26, 28 40000 after consumption of gloop and then low and behold she's been sucked of into a alternate reality and is now thin!!! Who would of yhunk it!! Remember though SHE DID AlL HER VErY SELF !!! No help from any more magic pills

YouOKHun · 04/09/2023 23:30

@NormalForNuneaton yes I really loathe the “I’m vulnerable” way on trying to hook people in. “I’ve always been anxious” or “I was anxious but my MLM saved me” is likely to resonate with people who are struggling in a similar way and looking for a solution or what they are lead to believe is a supportive community. It’s such a mean trick.

It’s me that knew her years ago. Up to when she started Forever Fibbing and maybe saw her a bit after.
Never shy at all. That is complete bullshit. I would say she was the most confident person I knew, who always believed she was better than others.
I think anxiety as a result of peri menopause could be possible as it’s something I am struggling with now.

Sugarplum48 · 05/09/2023 08:07

Yawns the same. Claims she hates public speaking and being the centre of attention. She literally has no concept of how ironic she is. She's never shyed away from being the centre of attention. She loves nothing more than being on her self made pedestal

meatbaseddessert · 05/09/2023 09:52

NNN has an actual client today. Who knew?

Also she's starting C25k... again. She's failed 3 times apparently (what about her constant refrain that when she decides something she always gets it) but this time she's 100% going to do it and she's visualised it so it will happen.

I'll give that one 2 weeks and it will go the way of the squat challenge, step challenge various C9s and gym going that have also been ditched at some point.

YouOKHun · 05/09/2023 11:09

@meatbaseddessert I didn’t see that but the fact she is telling people she has a client shows it’s not a regular occurrence! I’m sure she will be announcing every client she has, so I am assuming this client is the only paying client she’s had so far (if they’re paying her). She has also said that she doesn’t coach men - why not? That’s half the population written off as potential clients.

What she actually does is “coach” female friends by saying positive things they want to hear (they might as well just go to the pub for the evening and get her to buy the drinks), or she “coaches” the occasional MLM victim trying to work out why the bizniz they are trying to make work isn’t working, she does this by passing on the same gaslighting bollocks in which she is already marinaded. Scrub that, she doesn’t do any of it because she hasn’t got any paying clients. The Huns at her level can’t afford coaching, or not enough of them for her to have a viable business.

The other thing I notice is that for all the Likes from her mother there is not a single bit of endorsement or engagement from her three siblings who all seem to have sensible jobs (as did Nurse). If she was my sibling I’d be worried/irritated by the direction she’s taken.

Sugarplum48 · 05/09/2023 13:59

Yawns triggered!! She's let the "trolls" get to her!! She's missing the point of the negative feedback completely. You are disliked because you are a liar and con artist. No one gives a shit wetter you're fat, thin or have eyebrows or not. It's simply because you are a liar!!!

Spongebobette · 05/09/2023 18:23

Ah I think this is part of her regular trolls / I’m being bullied/ victim/ won’t let them get me down cycle that happens every so often, purely for sympathy and engagement

I've been lurking here for a few days as I'm embarrassed to admit I nearly fell for MLMs twice this year!!

First an Arbonne school mum rep accosted me at the school gates, just chatted about life and our kids (nothing Arbonne related). Then must have got my number from the WhatsApp school group chat and sent me a video message, super cheery about how 'she'd been thinking about me' super smiley, super positive, how I'd be a great fit for her business and would I like to try some of her products for free. Me being a people pleaser and feeling I couldn't ignore her as would be awkward at the school gates agreed to trying them. She hand delivered a package to my door (obvs asked for my address in order to do so....). Then a total barrage of messages, have I tried them, would I like to attend her WhatsApp event, would I like to come for drinks with reps, is there anything she could do to help me (eh?!) In the end I bought some overpriced protein powder as I needed some anyway and somehow paid another £10 to be a 'vip client' (whatever that means, I never did find out). The protein powder was gross and if I thought this would get her off my back, I was wrong. Months of messages and hounding, needless to say I just had to ignore in the end and she slowly got the message. Polite hello's now at the school gates but I never stop for chats. At this point I had no idea about MLMs and just felt confused, harassed and a bit miffed I'd spent so much money! Fast forward a few months and I see a Facebook post on a local mums group 'do you and your child LOVE reading, why not earn some extra money doing something you love'....sigh how silly was I to comment 'interested' next thing I know I'm added to a group and tagged in a zillion posts for Usborne books. That's when I started to see the similarity to Arbonne and just the way I was hounded and love bombed by the reps. Luckily I didn't spend any money this time, but I've since done loads of research in to MLMs and am fascinated! So my question to you all if you've got this far, is are you able to share the usernames of some of these individuals you're discussing as I really want to follow this thread and see how this is all playing out, it's just nuts!

YouOKHun · 05/09/2023 21:04

Welcome @Lostmyway86, firstly don’t be embarrassed. If you don’t know about MLMs then it’s very easy to respond to what seems like friendliness only to find some time later that it wasn’t for your benefit and to find yourself feeling out of pocket and exploited. These companies have been teaching stealth recruitment techniques for years. It really is shocking that MLM is not better regulated.

You might find some of the articles on the Talented Ladies Club site really informative if you haven’t already seen them https://www.talentedladiesclub.com/articles/tag/mlm/

MLMs and their reps seem to assume they can operate outside the rules. When you gave your phone number to the parents WhatsApp group you consented for it to be used for that purpose. Presumably you didn’t expect it to be used for anything by else. When she lifted your contact details from the WhatsApp group to use for her commercial purposes she breached your privacy. There are rules about that and about holding people’s data without their consent. She is not off the hook because she has a pretend business!

Arbonne was one of the first MLMs I noticed. There was a teacher at my children’s junior school who lost her job as a result of borrowing the parent contact sheet and using the details for her own commercial purposes. Unfortunately for her one of the parents was a very senior counsel in an American bank with expertise in data protection, privacy and identity theft. The parent in question reacted very badly to the approach made using emergency contact numbers she provided to the school.

The sacked teacher’s side hustle? It was Arbonne.

Lostmyway86 · 05/09/2023 21:28

@YouOKHun thanks for your message, can't believe a teacher did that, imagine jeopardising your career for something so stupid. Arbonne just seems so cult like, I'm still following the mum on FB and the events, photos and videos are just bizarre. I've heard she's made it pretty high up the chain so clearly it's worked for her but I do cringe watching the videos and wonder how many other mums she's going to alienate along the way...thanks for the link will check it out.

BSintolerant · 06/09/2023 08:09

Hello @Lostmyway86 - welcome to the place where lies about MLMs come to die.

This documentary is fascinating and well worth watching. Certain brainwashed bots didn’t like it when it came out and were shouting about taking legal action against the BBC (how’s that working out for you Uber?).

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/p076n2hg/secrets-of-the-multilevel-millionaires-ellie-undercover

Has Arbonne UK managed to file its accounts on time this year? It’s been a while since I’ve looked on Companies House.

Secrets of the Multi-Level Millionaires: Ellie Undercover

Ellie Flynn goes undercover to investigate a multibillion-pound online selling industry.

YouOKHun · 06/09/2023 09:05

@BSintolerant I didn’t realise Uber was chucking her weight around and threatening to sue the BBC! The reality is the producer of that documentary had enough material to make a series, all of it damning footage of bots’ conduct and victims’ true tales of woe. Getting the contents down to a mere sixty minutes was a task. BBC lawyers had already crawled all over it especially as it was going to include covert filming of bots being told that only recruitment matters etc.

I expect Uber realised that if she started pointing the finger too publicly she might have to demonstrate the contents of the programme wasn’t true and her own methods were different! Either that or Rex rugby tackled her on the lawn at White Elephant House while Bob clamped his hand over her mouth and through gritted teeth said, ‘shhhh! Shut the feck up! We need to go under the wire, you mouthy bint’. Or words to that effect.

BSintolerant · 06/09/2023 10:09

I’m pretty sure someone on one of these threads said Uber was spitting fire about it all. They have no clue how media law works - lawyers spend an awful lot of time going through stuff like this.

I'd love to see uber try to take the BBC on!! They'd chew her up and spit her out sideways!!

YouOKHun · 06/09/2023 12:31

@Sugarplum48 they would probably just have ignored her tantrum! I would have liked to have seen her chuck her weight about. A lot has happened to her since 2019 when the documentary was released (aside from the declining fortunes of her MLM) and I wonder if she would be quite so bold now.

Sugarplum48 · 06/09/2023 13:37

@YouOKHun imagine huh! She'd get laughed out the court room. How all their lives have changed!! Declining fortunes or lack off, trying to be wannabe tiktok stars. Yawn will be in one of those tiktok battles next with some of the tiktok bots...it's all quite laughable
