Washing machine recommendations- samsung eco bubble?

I currently live at home and have loved the samsung eco bubble that my mum has, unfortunately it’s an older range and can no longer get it.

I liked that it had a cycle called “daily wash” in my laziness I could just throw random towels, clothes and whatever else in and it wasn’t weight limited. if I had little amount or bigger amount (I know not to overload the drum etc) but this was ideal as think some new washing machines only allow cycle if its at certain weight etc. I also liked that it only took an hour and 2 mins I’m sure, definitely not more than that 1hr 10 mark. I could also put it to 40, or 60. I know these seem like high temps but due to health stuff I like that these temps kill the bacteria (hopefully) this is probably where I find that it is weight limited but been no harm the last few years!

Now with a newborn, there is sometimes clothes with sick or if poop explosions and also have partner who works on construction site.

Looking for: Good energy rated, can wash that won’t take over 1hr30 mins at higher temps, can do mixed/daily cycle (clothes and towels) (40,60) but doesn’t matter if I’m putting different amounts each time.

also does anyone have the newer samsung eco bubble as pictured or any other recommendations that would do what I’m after, - (I also am looking into heat pump dryer but unsure if best)
thank you

Not the latest model but I've had my Samsung eco bubble since 2015 and touch wood its still working like new

Best machine I've had and will buy Samsung from now on

Last machine was a Beko and that was crap and broke after 2 years

Hugasauras · 24/05/2023 09:55

We bought a new Samsung Spacemax recently with Eco bubble tech. It does all you want. It's a good machine!

I saw you are looking at 1400rpm same as me. I thoroughly regret not getting the 1600rpm

Moving to 1600 rpm will only probably get your clothers 3% drier than 1400 rpm.

If you want them drier than the 1400 rpm produces probably just better to spin them twice, which is what I do with my 1600 rpm machine.

I think if I knew the above, I would not have bought my 1600 rpm machine.

Ever wondered how much extra water a faster washing machine speed will get out of your laundry? It might not be as much as you think..

I have a Samsung Eco bubble. I love it. So many cycles to choose from; my favourite is the steam clean. Wouldn’t ever have any other machine now

wherethecityis · 24/05/2023 12:15

We have the addwash one with ecobubble. It seems amazing so far. I think it has all what you want and the added advantage that when you find that random sock you dropped on the way to the machine, you can just add it to the wash even if it's already started.

iusedtohavechickens · 24/05/2023 12:24

My Samsung was so awful I scrapped it after a couple of years. We have a Miele now and it's amazing.
It has a quick wash function but also weighs the washing and if the load is smaller it reduces the time.
I also went for the twin dos that auto feeds the liquids into the wash. X

DappledOliveGroves · 24/05/2023 12:35

We have a NEFF - I LOVE it. It's super quiet, has a range of cycles (there's a quick 15/30 minute option), you can pause it and add any random socks or other items to the drum. It makes me so happy.

MaterDei · 24/05/2023 12:44

Yes I have the new model! Love it and highly recommend. The daily wash is my go to was cycle which I use at least twice a day. It takes one hour two minutes or maybe 6 mins. Not Y home to check. But I had the old model your mum had too OP and loved it for all the reasons you do!

MaterDei · 24/05/2023 12:44

Sorry for the annoying typos

Thanks for this, a weirdly interesting read for an article about washing machine speeds!

we love our Samsung ecobubble and also our Samsung heat pump dryer which is brilliant. no need for plumbing, just empty the water tray when full, supposedly less energy too though I cant check that

powerrangers · 24/05/2023 15:31

Just be aware that everything Korean will sing to you. It's not a problem but you may find it annoying 😂

DiscoBeat · 24/05/2023 15:37

I've had the same machine for years now, and it gets very heavy use. My husband did replace the rubber seal but that's the only repair it's had. I would definitely get another!

ReviewingTheSituation · 24/05/2023 15:39

No point looking for a good energy rating if you're not going to use the eco programmes (which are much longer than the 1hr you're looking for). The eco ratings are based on the most economical programme on the machine - other than that all bets are off.

I can't see why any machine wouldn't cope with clothes and towels going in the same wash - any 'normal' programme will be fine for that. It also won't really care how much you're putting in.

You'd be better off putting in a full load (not overloading) and doing an eco wash, rather than putting in smaller amounts and doing several quick washes. If you want to save electricity/water (and therefore money) that's a much better way to go about it.

Amazing, do you know how long it takes for 60c wash on a mixed or cotton cycle - does it have any weight limits for these too? Ie if machine was say 8kg (just example) as seen some with quicker settings only allow it for shorter amounts. Thank you @Hugasauras

@ReviewingTheSituation Thank you for this, that definitely makes sense and with me not knowing much on settings and eco side. It’s good to know! I think also sometimes there is machines that have so many settings yet for me as long as it does bedding, towels and clothes. I usually wash my clothes and towels together. Always liked a higher setting due to health condition! (Killing bacteria) xx

I have an LG 9kg it has a "mixed fabrics" cycle you can shive everything in takes 90 minutes usually. It also has rinse + and intensive functions I love it.

If this does the higher setting (60) at around that it would be brill as miss the older model!
if you manage to find out would be great! Thanks :)

Thank you @Mrsjayy what temp does it wash at for those at 90 min, is it weight affected? if you have link or that would love that. Thanks again!

In that case my 1400 is only pretending to be 1400 as its really crap at getting water out. I read all the blurbs prior to buying with them saying the difference was negligible but it really isn't. And yes I do extra spin and its still wetter than my previous 1600 at one spin.

Like I said though, mine could just be pretending.

Yes it does. I made a mistake the old version was daily wash but the newer one it is mixed load but they are exactly the same and it does a 60 and a 40 degrees wash on that setting hth!

@MaterDei Thanks, how long does it take on the 60 for mixed load? Does it change during cycle at all? Was trying to see that online :)
