What do you earn …

Sorry this is a nosey question … but I’d love to know what people earn! As it’s all anonymous I thought I could ask as it really interests me what different jobs earn.

this is partly as I wonder how so many people can afford new cars/holidays/big houses.

I’ll add mine … I earn 68k … but can’t afford a fancy car or holidays every year. I have my own house, but it’s not big. I also didn’t get any family help so bought on my own with no help for a deposit etc.

thanks! And hopefully the question doesn’t offend anyone!

NHS lower band 5 so £28.5k
DH is an IT consultant on £55k basic plus bonuses
Both mid 40s, two DC, live in NW England in large detached house and just paid off mortgage. Have a holiday abroad about once every two years. Were more focused on getting the house paid off.

£75k, senior consultant, live in SE. Get by well, able to holiday and have 2 nice cars (not on finance). Budget every month though to make it all happen

I earn NMW and I work in geology and engineering. it's very a difficult job

Well, it wasn't NMW but it will be next year with the new NMW rise.

Tempted to scrap my STEM role and have another NMW role with much less complexity and responsibility 😊

(I live in an area where NHS and Local Authority roles pay the most)

I earn £30k as a call centre TL. Husband on £37k but on track for a pay rise to £60k plus bonus next year in business development.
We're in the North West, own pur house on a fairly low mortgage and have a baby with a childminder. We had no financial help from parents

@cornishsqueezy I’m really shocked by that. Is it a skilled, specialist role? :( how can a geologist/ engineer, presumably with a minimum level of a degree quali m, only pull in NMW? That is so bad :(

I'm on 140k, Director in property development. Mortgage free, ramping up my pension (50-55k contributions a year) to retire at 57.

Can't believe the IT salaries, only on MN can you feel naff on decent money lol.
