Has anyone received theirs yet? I read that it will be paid out between the 2nd and 7th September. I received the first installment but so far not received the second yet.

Ah yes "You're are disabled and being a nuisance. Please stop claiming the pittance that keeps you alive." Great response.

Thank you for being on my side and understanding the fear we disabled live in.

@Always4Brenner

Stop claiming then 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you I’ll slit my throat then that’s another statistic then.

piegone · 26/09/2022 17:49

Reported.

piegone · 26/09/2022 17:52

The DWP haven't done anything wrong here btw. Yes the bank holiday was a week ago but it was a short notice BH which meant reworking millions of payments. That took the staff away from processing the COL which has meant it is taking a bit longer, but still within the time frame they gave.

Eightiesgirl · 26/09/2022 17:55

Yes, this is in addition to our normal disability payments but with prices for food and energy rising so astronomically, no one should be blamed or ashamed for relying on this extra 150 payment that was promised.

I wasn't going either of those things.

Eightiesgirl · 26/09/2022 18:05

I didn't accuse you of either of those things if you read my post. My comment was aimed at the poor person who felt so worthless they threatened to slit their throat. There is nothing to be ashamed about in relying on these extra payments and its such an anxious time for people, no wonder they are checking their bank accounts for this extra assistance.

Mammma91 · 26/09/2022 18:10

We haven’t received it yet. We get DLA for DS and haven’t got it yet either.
I think though, it’s due to be paid by Friday. Fingers crossed we have a hefty bill due out Friday 🫠

Sorry I read your post completely wrong.

Eightiesgirl · 26/09/2022 18:18

Thanks, that's OK, money is a very emotional topic isn't it, particularly with the current cost of living increases. I think people, myself included, are just desperate to receive this payment ASAP. I, personally, am very grateful for it, but to be honest, benefits payments are so low compared to inflation and the cost of living, the least the government can do to assist disabled people through the coming winter is make this payment to them.

Eightiesgirl · 26/09/2022 18:36

Also, for many disabled people in receipt of PIP, this 150 will have to replace the Warm Home Discount, as under new Government rules receiving PIP will no longer automatically entitle you to the payment. The payment has risen this year from 140 to 150 but you can no longer apply for it. Instead, you will receive a letter from the DWP if you fit the new, stricter criteria. So, in effect, if you are disabled and used to receive the Warm Home Discount based on getting PIP, then this 150 disability payment means you are no better off.

piegone · 26/09/2022 18:47

@Eightiesgirl

I hadn't thought about the warm home discount loss for people. I applied for mine the other day, DH fit the low household income (less then £17k I think it was) because he gets carers allowance.

@piegone that's great that you are still going to get it. I didn't know you could still apply, when I looked, it just said the DWP will contact you if you are eligible but the criteria has changed this year. I think this is why they are giving PIP claimants this 150 to make up for the fact they may not get the 150 Warm Home discount. It's going to be a tough winter for such a lot of people.

NewBootsAndRanty · 26/09/2022 19:40

Re the WHD, anyone in last year's "broader" group (in England, at leaat) will not only have to fulfil specific benefit receipt criteria, but also

."Your home must meet the new ‘high energy cost’ rules. The government will use data from the Valuations Office Agency (VOA) to identify households that are likely to have high energy costs, using the following three benchmarks – Floor area, property age and property type"

piegone · 26/09/2022 19:41

@Eightiesgirl

I'm in Scotland, we still have to apply unless we qualify by pension credit.

NewBootsAndRanty · 26/09/2022 19:43

^suppliers in Scotland are going to repeat their criteria from last year's scheme, so those in the broader/not in the core group can apply for the scheme - it won't be awarded to them automatically.

Eightiesgirl · 26/09/2022 19:59

I definitely won't get it again then this year, based on the new criteria. Even though my house is tiny and only 7 years old, it's very draughty and cold. I'm even more desperate for the 150 disability payment now, as I'll rely on that to help pay my heating bill.

I also get DLA for my DS and ours came in this morning. Fingers crossed for you and everyone else when you all wake up!

Still haven't had the DLA cost of living payment for my child. Is there a deadline to receive it by?

By October. I got mine today though.

Prettybubblesintheair · 27/09/2022 07:34

Anyone know anything further about the £324?

sashh · 27/09/2022 08:43

Those of you ho have got the disability payment, was it paid with your DLA/PIP or a separate amount?

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 27/09/2022 08:48

A separate payment for us @sashh.

Eightiesgirl · 27/09/2022 09:27

My 150 is in my bank account today. It arrived separately to any other payments I receive, which aren't due at the moment. I hope everyone else waiting for it gets theirs soon.
