What small, mundane things have you stopped buying because you just can't afford them anymore?

I was just reading threadbandbthinking about shower gel and bath soaks.

I used to buy a couple of shower gels a week, £2ish ones and now I just buy bars of soap and will occasionally buy aldis own.

I also used to buy the rigid toothpaste tubes that have the push down button so the DC had a one push portion.
I just get the normal squeeze tubes now.

I used to get midrange shampoos and conditioners. Now it's Alberto Balsalm apple shampoo.

I don't buy bubble bath at all

I just little things but I miss having a nice bubbly soak and using a nice shampoo.

I haven't bought any moisturiser in a while either. I still have some soap and glody ones left but after that I will probably go without.

It's just surprising how in such a short space of time I've gone from buying these things as standard, without a thought, to cutting back on them even though they're quite basic things. Not fancy at all. 😩

Lunch at work. Used to buy a sandwich most days, now bring something in.

Cheese. Only cheddar but we always bought good stuff and have now gone for cheaper options.

This has made me realise that I haven't had a mushroom croissant from our favourite lunch place for flipping ages.

I think I'm just automatically cutting back all over the place.

We struggle with cutting back. 3 to 4 bed changed most weeks sometimes two in one night due to my feed and disability. 2 baths a day sometimes due again to my disability. Cannot digest lentils chick peas and the like. Cook from scratch for dH make own bread. Life being this way is very expensive never really worried about it til now.

Olive oil. I used to cook with it regularly. Can't justify it now.
Heinz products. I now buy the cheaper non branded versions.
Fresh orange juice.

Using tumble dryer much less, only for towels and because we have lots I only wash them about every 2 weeks.

Hardly ever have a bath even though I could live in a warm bubble bath.

Andrex toilet roll - now buy lidl own brand.
Fairy washing powder - again, Lidl own brand now.
Car parking - I walk into town from the closest free supermarket car park.
Pepsi Max - I cannot justify paying £2 a bottle - it has doubled in price from not so long ago.

In fact lots of the branded stuff we used to buy has been swapped out for own brands or Asda yellow label. We have not had a joint of lamb or beef for years. I am sick of chicken to be honest.
