£6 for a load in the tumble dryer?

someone on the news just said that it will be £6 per load to use the tumble dryer? is that right? I am searching online and the rates I see are more like 37p per hour a year ago - if that doubles its still less than a £1/hour.
Be grateful to confirm the realistic cost for 2022 as if it is £6/hour I will have to abandon it.

2 of us in a 2-bedroom flat with no outside space. I use 2 airers in spare room and hang clothes on the curtain poles with the windows ajar (not if heating is on, obviously) and do the same with sheets on trouser hangers, and, in 20 years have never had any damp problems. I wash everything at 30° on a 30 minute cycle and then give it an extra 16 min spin. All my washing smells fresh and clean. The flat might look a mess but most of it is put away that evening or definitely following morning. Oh, jeans have to be finished off on towel rail.

TLDR, but I have experimented for years, and I get the best results by using the tumble dryer for about 10 minutes (gets the wrinkles out, and gets things started drying) then hanging outside or in the house. Things dry much faster this way and no ironing!! They smell better, too, and whites stay whiter.
