I saw this in another thread and became curios.

What is it?
Is it legal?
How do you do it?

I don't trust google when it's stuff like this

OP posts:

The amount of money you start with makes no difference to the profit you'll make from each offer. A bigger starting pot allows you to do multiple offers at the same time, so you can make money quicker. If you've only got a small pot to start with it can take a while to get going as you'll have to keep waiting while you withdraw money from the bookies (which can take from a few hours to a few days depending on the bookie and your bank).

savvy7 · 17/04/2021 05:54

Start small and take it slowly .. it takes time to get used to it. You're more likely to make mistakes if you rush it and mistakes generally lose money

magicstar1 · 17/04/2021 23:15

Thanks...that’s what I thought. I’ve just played my first bets...fingers crossed.

Bigfatpicnic · 18/04/2021 14:06

I’m coming towards the end of the sign up offers, and need to move on to the next stage. I’m still only doing football as I’m to scared to do anything else!
The guides are steering towards taking out a subscription for profit accumulator, as I’m almost at the end of my free commission on Betfair, so I think I’m at the tipping point. I’m less keen on smarkets as it isn’t so user friendly as BF, but it’s free with the subscription, also I’m not sure if it will be worth it. Has anyone got a subscription?
I’d be very happy with £2-300 a month, is that doable with reloads?

£300 a month is totally doable, with relatively little effort - follow the boosts thread, do a couple of betclubs and you're good to go.

The link to Profit Accumulator is new, but I assume it's pretty similar to Oddsmonkey which is what I use. The subscription pays for itself in 0% smarkets commission, and tbh you get used to teh smarkets interface pretty quickly.

Bigfatpicnic · 18/04/2021 22:57

@Effzeh, thanks for your response. I’ll switch to using smarkets and hopefully the more I use it the easier it will be.

As I understand it OM is similar to PA.

I think I just need to commit to the PA subscription and get cracking!.

PrincessTilly · 18/04/2021 23:48

Only just started as well. Started with £30. I'm on WH offer. Still taking it real slow. I'm still not sure about joining PA.
Do you use your phone or desktop? I'm wondering if it's doable on the phone long-term

savvy7 · 19/04/2021 06:27

I use Oddsmonkey and find it easy to make money by the difference in odds, rather than relying on "offers".

In terms of exchanges, I prefer Smarkets and Matchbook to Betfair. Betfair is linked to Paddy Power and doesn't accept lays less than £2 (although there is a workaround that I haven't quite got my head around).

savvy7 · 19/04/2021 06:29

I would definitely recommend taking out a subscrption, on a £1 or free trial to start with. I relied on welcome and reload offers for about 4 months and was getting gubbed from lots. I think I would have been gubbed a lot less by relying more on difference in odds.

Bvop · 19/04/2021 07:03

It is real and legitimate. The reason that the gambling industry allow it is that they’ll be able to convert a proportion of the players who start on matched betting into gambling proper - i.e. the cash cows that fund the matched betting and the vast profits made from gambling more generally. Another proportion of people doing matched betting won’t understand how to do it successfully so they will also contribute to gambling companies’ profits rather than losses.

I know that on this thread it’ll be an unpopular opinion: the profit you’d make from matched betting, if anything, isn’t simply free money from big companies: it’s the proceeds of misery and addiction.

savvy7 · 19/04/2021 07:35

No the bookies don't allow it. Their terms and conditions specifically exclude it. Once they're onto you they ban you from the offers or restrict your wagering to 20p etc

magicstar1 · 25/04/2021 13:21

Just wanted to update. I’m at the end of my first week. I joined 9 bookmaker sites and am up €670. €500 of that was a complete lucky fluke on a free casino bet, the rest is normal football etc.

Did you have to wager the casino? I’ve not even dipped my toe in the casino water yet!
magicstar1 · 27/04/2021 00:50

I got a 10 free bet and used it...that won me 500 (total shock). The wager was 30x so I had to wager 300 in order for the balance to turn in real, cash money. I just used spins ...first one made 90, another 48 etc. so I ended up with 520.

Oh, yeah, the betting sphere is so important nowadays and that is not surprising. People want to receive money and don't work. But, as I think, betting is not an easy income. That is necessary to be professional sports analytic if you want to earn from this sphere. I am not a pro and just playing on sites like 888casino.com , because it is much easier for me. I understand that it is not a way to earn, it is just entertainment for me.

You've misunderstood what matched betting is. For matched betting you don't need to know the details of the sports because you're betting on both outcomes, so with most offers you make the same profit regardless of which team/horse wins. You just need to understand the principle and the maths involved in extracting value from the various types of offers.

Matched betting definitely is a way to earn good money, in the short term from welcome offers, and in the medium term from the reload offers for as long as the bookies will let you keep doing it.

soloula · 28/04/2021 09:39

I need to get back into matched betting. I started about 5 years ago and made a decent amount over a few months but when I hit the more complicated offers my baby brain kicked in (DD2 was about 6mo then). This thread is making me want to try again...

I don’t think you’ve got any idea what actual matched betting is!

To anyone else reading this thread for info, please don’t use any sites betting or casino) for “entertainment”! There’s a proper process to follow with regards to both.

Furries · 28/04/2021 20:08

@soloula - could be a good time to restart soon. Both for your existing accounts and new sign ups you may not have done. We’ve got Ascot, the Euros and Olympics coming up, so hopefully a good time for some decent offers while domestic football heads into a break.

sallievp · 28/04/2021 20:13

I do it too...made around 9000 pounds...go for it...take it step by step and you'll do fine

soloula · 28/04/2021 20:25

@Furries thank you - I knew about the Olympics but not the others. More incentive to get back to it.

What sites do people use these days? I think I was signed up to profit accumulator before which made it a lot easier.

xyzandabc · 28/04/2021 20:36

I started matched betting about 3.5 years ago but had a year out so been active for 2.5 years. I read about it and watched videos for months before taking the plunge. I started with £100 as I was happy I could afford to lose it if it all went wrong. I've only ever used my winnings to fund new offers, never put a penny more in to it. I've made about £14K, 5K from matched betting and 9K from casino.

After the initial few months which were very slow, whilst building my funds and learning how to do things I was making £2-300 a month on matched betting. Started to get gubbed (banned from taking part in their offers) by a few bookies, so looked in to casino. I am now gubbed from the vast majority of sports bookies so most of my income is from casino offers and make on aver £5-600 a month from 10-15 hours a week.

Matched betting is pretty much guaranteed profit as long as you follow the guides. Start with this to build up your bank roll and your confidence.

Casino is more risky, you will win some, you will lost some, but on average you will profit. The last few months I have either lost or broken even but this month looks like I've made £1K ish, on average over 18 months its £5/600 a month.

I'd recommend Team Profit and Odds Monkey for guides and tutorials. Watch the videos, read the instructions, think you understand, ask questions on the facebook newbies page, read the instructions again, watch the videos again, do exactly as they say and go for it. Before you begin, set up a new email, specifically for matched betting, and open a new bank account so that you can keep everything separate from your day to day banking/life. I just opened a new current account with my usual bank (Halifax) and never had any issues.

Good luck

Furries · 28/04/2021 20:53

@soloula - I use the Team Profit website. They’ve revamped it this past year and their reloads page is way better. Then the team profit Facebook group is always really useful.

Team Profit have recently aligned with Profit Accumulator, they’ve got an offer on for signing up with them. I use OddsMonkey, as that was who they were aligned with when I started - still find it a really good system. Plus there’s a linked deal with Smarkets for 0% commission on your laybets (I hardly use Betfair as an exchange).

If you’ve been out of it for that amount of time, Team Profit have launched a “sister” site called Team Casino. It’s subscription only (£15 a month, with a 10 day trial for £1). It is DEFINITELY worth it. Their website and general guides are fantastic - and their guides for each welcome offer and daily reload offers explain the best strategy for each.

Bookies-wise re betting. Offers are not as good as I’ve heard they were back when you were doing it! Paddy, Coral and Sky seem very quick to gub now. BetWay are still notorious for incredibly fast gubbings (though somehow I managed to keep them for 18 months!). William Hill are still good for 2nd place refund racing at the weekend. Bet365 are still good for 2ups, plus they’ve been fairly generous throwing out in play free bets and random bet credits. They also had a great offer on for the grand national which was worth about £80 guaranteed profit.

Team Profit website has also got a good guide showing the level of funds protection for each bookie, in the event that they go bust (quite a lot of people had a very stressful time when MoPlay went bust last year). This has been helpful as I’ve logged the levels against all my bookies on my own spreadsheet - helps me easily see which ones it’s ok to leave funds in when using regularly, and which ones I aim to keep limited funds in.

I’d say go for it now while you can. I’ve only been doing it for 18 months, but I can see the change in frequency/value of offers in that short time. Make hay while the sun is still shining! I’m hoping that they’ve all been fairly “careful” during the pandemic and protecting their own funds as much as possible - and therefore may improve offers slightly as we start to come out of lockdown etc.

Good luck!

Firefly2021 · 29/04/2021 17:06

I’m pretty new to matched betting (2 months in) and I’ve made profit and made silly errors that have lost money. But I want to stick at it - I have run out of sign up offers and seem to be in the field of offers that make £3 here and there (OddsMonkey’s Daily Offers). Am I missing something - are their bigger offers to be found. I know I need to do proper research but roughly what should I be looking at next in matched betting. The bookies haven’t sent much in the way of offers, generally their casino ones tbh which I am avoiding for now.

TeamProfit have instructions for just this situation.

The next thing after the introductory bet-and-get offers is to get into doing boosts and betclubs. Boosts in particular are easy money.
