I can't believe this has been going for nearly a year! I feel rather emotional Blush

I'll pop the list up in a second for any newcomers.

Here's to a fantastic December, and bolstered bank balances for January!

@Catatemyhomework don't be disheartened and just keep applying. There seems to be a lot of projects hiring at the moment which is great but previously many of us here waited for months and months with nothing. The work isn't guaranteed and even if you pass the qualification, it also doesn't mean a thing because you can pass one day and the project is over before you even get the logins. It isn't you and it isn't personal, unfortunately, it is the nature of this type of work and this type of company. Have you applied for Crisp? Again no guarantees but if you are one of the lucky ones it seems like a constant stream of work.

Crabonastick · 04/12/2019 11:44

How many hours are you doing on crisp/Appen?! I’m tempted to join but not sure if too many hours will be expected!

MoreMoneyPlease · 04/12/2019 11:47

@Catatemyhomework don't feel bad about the tests. I've failed ones which have been similar to my work/education, then passed totally random ones where I've had no idea about the answers. The questions are often so ambiguous that Einstein would have struggled to pass all the tests!

MoreMoneyPlease · 04/12/2019 13:12

And, having said that, I've just failed the Sitka test! Would help if they gave you some actual helpful information in the guidelines!

rhij86 · 04/12/2019 13:16

@moremoneyplease sorry to hear that! I haven't been invited to that one. I find their guidelines so subjective! And the examples rarely relate very much at all to the questions in the tests.

MoreMoneyPlease · 04/12/2019 13:27

Exactly! I was so torn between a couple of the answers but couldn't find any help in the guidelines so just had to made a decision - obviously the wrong ones!

Catatemyhomework · 04/12/2019 13:42

Thank you rhij86 and DontCallMeDarling and MoreMoneyPlease for your kind, reassuring words. I just felt that I really should have passed an english language test! Oh well, onwards and upwards. Sorry to hear about the Sitka test MoreMoneyPlease. I know what you mean about the guidelines. In the test I did, they didn't seem to be relevant at all.

Catatemyhomework · 04/12/2019 13:46

Has anyone been invited to do neevo? I just received an email and told to click on a link. The link takes me to PayPal. Just wanted to check it isn't a dodgy link. I'm very paranoid! DontCallMeDarling, I have passed the crisp initial test but not heard anything from them yet. I think I applied a couple of months ago at least.

TheLolaMontez · 04/12/2019 14:17

Anyone on Crescent for Appen? I can't get on today, says I've expired Confused wonder if I e been kicked off?

Starlight2004 · 04/12/2019 14:18

I've passed one today on a second attempt, and I only changed one answer so I really do think sometimes you can literally only get one wrong and that's it! They are very tricky and very time consuming. I wonder when these new ones will start. It will be nice to have a bit of a change although I am happy to have any regular extra work for now. Smile

Catatemyhomework · 04/12/2019 18:42

Has anyone signed up for the calls tomorrow? Never done this before but it's $50 for 25 conversations, 4 hours work apparently. Quite scary!!!

MoreMoneyPlease · 04/12/2019 18:45

@Catatemyhomework I did a batch a couple of weeks ago and plan to do the ones tomorrow. It didn't take me four hours last time.

It will make a nice change from Appen, although I am getting to watch lots of crappy Christmas films on Netflix!

Catatemyhomework · 04/12/2019 18:59

@MoreMoneyPlease, that's good to know. Quite nervous though. Do you just log in in the morning and get in the queue? Although, will have to remember to leave the queue by 11 as have a work call. Also, with neevo, do you get paid when not working on customer data, as I have done 1000 pronuniciation tasks this evening and it still says not customer data? Thanks. So much to learn.....

Zofloramummy · 04/12/2019 19:08

I’m very new to this idea of earning extra. I’ve joined prolific academic and opinion outpost and have earned about £25 in 2 weeks.

However, I’m looking at some of the earnings from Crisp and Appen slightly open mouthed! My concern is as a low income single parent how I would manage tax returns and how much time it would take? I work school hours and have an 8 year old so am only available late evening and weekends time wise. How do you juggle it all?

I’m considering earning 100-200 on surveys then trying my hand at MB. Does anyone do that on here?

AliciaWhiskers · 04/12/2019 19:56

@Catatemyhomework are they Neevo calls you are doing tomorrow? I did some a few weeks ago but haven't been asked to do any since. My partner has done loads - I'm a bit jealous! Did they email you about them?

Catatemyhomework · 04/12/2019 20:06

@AliciaWhiskers, yes they are neevo calls. I registered with them a couple of days ago and they emailed me today about something else but when I logged in that was there too. I'm nervous to be honest. Never had to pretend to be someone else before. I might forget and give them all my personal details! Grin

AliciaWhiskers · 04/12/2019 20:07

@Catatemyhomework don't be nervous. They are really fun to do and the people who do the calls are all really nice and lead you through the task. Once you've done one, you'll be fine. For my first ones I made notes about who I was going to be etc. You'll be fab!

MoreMoneyPlease · 04/12/2019 20:14

@AliciaWhiskers @Catatemyhomework I really enjoyed them and found my inner actor, especially the ones when I had to complain Grin I spoke to the same person about 6 times and we were having quite a laugh by the end!

Catatemyhomework · 04/12/2019 20:24

@AliciaWhiskers and @MoreMoneyPlease, thanks that's good to know. I hate to think what I'm going to come out with Grin. Do you know your script when you're waiting in the queue? I guess each call is a different scenario? Also, I have noisy background. Do you just put the radio on? I will log in at 9 and see what happens!

MoreMoneyPlease · 04/12/2019 20:48

@Catatemyhomework Yes, you can see the script while you're waiting in the queue. Some of the agents just read it out word for word which was a bit dull (and didn't always make sense!) but most put it into their own words. I put a 'noisy bar' youtube video on my ipad, took the calls on my phone and read the script off my laptop! I made a list of names and addresses to use so I was ready to go (but then I recycled them during the calls). You'll be fine!

Bemystarlord · 04/12/2019 22:17

@TheLolaMontez same here for crescent, lots of others having the same problem on chat but ive sent a message to be sure.

TheLolaMontez · 04/12/2019 22:20

Thanks @Bemystarlord hopefully it's just a glitch! I can't afford to lose any income no matter how small!

Bemystarlord · 04/12/2019 22:27

@TheLolaMontez definitely, fingers crossed 🤞If theres loads of us in the same situation chances are it is just an error.

Catatemyhomework · 04/12/2019 23:18

@MoreMoneyPlease, thanks for the tips. I'll let you know how I get on!
