I can't believe this has been going for nearly a year! I feel rather emotional Blush

I'll pop the list up in a second for any newcomers.

Here's to a fantastic December, and bolstered bank balances for January!

Thank you very much, Wolff!

Catatemyhomework · 08/12/2019 11:07

Thanks @Wolfff, that's what I thought. At least it's not an outright rejection yet. It's difficult to know how many to apply for as I think I have applied for about 5, but may fail the assessments anyway!

XXYY · 08/12/2019 12:25

@Wolfff
Thank you very much indeed!

DontCallMeDarling · 08/12/2019 12:53

@Catatemyhomework as wolfff mentioned it is very much potluck. I did not hear for months then had loads of qualifications to do and pass. It can also go as quickly as it arrives so my advice is apply for everything and work what you can but also don't expect it to last forever. I have heard of people who have been on a project for 2 days and those who have have been on a project for 2 years! But when it stops it just stops and you just get an email saying thanks its over bye!!!

Catatemyhomework · 08/12/2019 13:22

Thanks @DontCallMeDarling, that's good to know. I have applied for another two this morning as don't want to put all my eggs in one basket so to speak. I can't remember what I've applied for now. We'll wait and see. Would love to hear back from Crisp. I passed the original online assessment in October. Fingers crossed.!

AdaShelby · 08/12/2019 13:38

SIL heard from crisp too. She signed up back in May time.

She's going to drive me potty trying to get me to help her I can tell already Grin

They must be on a huge recruitment push.

Wolfff · 08/12/2019 13:42

I was lucky I have been on Appen since July and picked up a long term project for a max of an hour a day. It’s boring, but I do it most days and earn about £300 a month. I was working one of the 20 hour projects but it coincided with a major event at my day job and I only worked a few hours and now I have more time it’s finished.

Apply for everything you can possibly can and hope for the best!

Catatemyhomework · 08/12/2019 13:56

Thanks @Wolfff, I will do

DontCallMeDarling · 08/12/2019 14:53

@AdaShelby I glad for your SIL and I hope you don't get inundated with too many questions!

I really hope I hear from them soon although am feeling quite disheartened now as I passed back in beginning of June and so many people have heard last week. I know I am lucky in many ways so think I just need to buck up and get on with things! Especially as I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet! Xmas Grin

ZetaPuppis · 08/12/2019 15:43

I’ve signed and returned my Crisp documents. Fingers crossed.

Any Crisp workers able to tell me what the work
Is like and how much they pay please?

lynsey91 · 08/12/2019 16:45

I am jealous of all of you hearing from Crisp. I keep thinking I will hear but, sadly, I don't. I passed in May!

Frenchdoors1 · 08/12/2019 16:56

@lynsey91
Oh nooooo, what a long wait and you're still none the wiser!
I'm only October.
Hope you hear soon.

AliciaWhiskers · 08/12/2019 17:00

Not sure if here is the place to ask, but thought I'd give it a go anyway.

Anyone recommend any bank switch accounts? I've got a joint account with Metro Bank which has been hopeless so want to set up another joint account and hope to do a switch. Anyone know if that is possible with a joint account?

ZetaPuppis · 08/12/2019 17:03

@lynsey91 I think I passed in May too. Fingers crossed for you.
I’m a bit anxious about the test to proceed as I found the first test quite tricky.

KnowBetterDoBetter · 08/12/2019 18:56

Hi everyone! I joined the thread in May time under a different name (can't even remember it now Blush) and did the crisp test then. Never heard back, and apart from the odd prolific survey, I haven't had much luck with anything else. Gave up really, and my financial situation is worse than ever since starting my masters in September.

But I finally got an email from Crisp last week! So happy! Just wanted to ask - have many people failed the final test, and if so, can you apply again? I think I did alright; there was only two out of about 90 that I did that I wasn't sure on, because of the lack of context. But who knows! So hope I've passed.

This also prompted me to catch up with the threads and apply for Appen (I used one of your referral links; sorry, can't remember who). I signed the forms on Monday, but haven't heard anything since then. Is this normal? I can't actually get cracking for 10 days anyway as have lots of exams and essays due at uni - but I just want to know I can start earning some extra money after that, once the Christmas holidays start and I have some time off work too.

A couple more questions, if OK:

If I am successful with Crisp & Appen, is there any point signing up for Neevo etc., or is there enough work across these two that there isn't much point?

I've read on the threads that work on Appen can come in dribs and drabs, but with Crisp, is there usually always work available? Can I literally log on, work for a couple of hours each night and make an extra £400+ a month?

I'm so so so skint. I so hope this works out - it'll be life changing. Sounds dramatic, but it really will. Thank you so much to OP for starting these threads, and to the rest of you for all the info I've learnt whilst reading. And hope everyone waiting on Crisp hears back ASAP Thanks

Yugi · 08/12/2019 19:18

I am at the end of the first week of Crisp and liking it a lot. Now on tenterhooks to see if I have passed phase 1.

dreamyflower · 08/12/2019 19:40

Hello all. I have just had an email from isoftstone and my gmail has flagged it up as a dangerous message. The email seems legit and I signed papers last week for an upcoming job but I have to sign into my yahoo live account with my passwords and I am a little unsure. I haven't worked with them before. Has anyone else had an email like this?

MrsWombat · 08/12/2019 22:23

@lannister Not sure if someone has answered your question but if you go onto your project page on Appen and go through the tabs there will be full instructions on getting started with SRT on there. There is a different web address you need to go to, but if you've accessed the forum type bit you should be able to access the second bit, although I can't remember if you have to wait 24 hours or something. If you ask in the chat room for your project someone will give you the url.

Catatemyhomework · 08/12/2019 22:24

Well done all of you who have been accepted by Crisp. I haven't heard from them yet. Mind you, I took the test 3 times and got 17, 18, 19 so they might have it logged somewhere! Grin. I don't know about isoftstone @dreamyflower, I have just applied for a job with them tonight so we'll see how it goes.

TheLolaMontez · 08/12/2019 23:02

I've just reapplied for Crisp, but had no email to tell me my score - is this a new thing? Nothing in spam either Hmm

TheLolaMontez · 08/12/2019 23:04

Oops spoke too soon! Just arrived Grin

dreamyflower · 09/12/2019 06:11

Thanks @catatemyhomework Did they email you about the job? I am so unsure of what to do. I googled the person's name from the email and they are on linked in so surely that is legit? Their email address does look strange though.

Catatemyhomework · 09/12/2019 08:11

@dreamyflower, I applied from their website, although I have heard someone else on here with the same query I think and I think someone said it did look a bit weird but was genuine. This might be a silly question but I have been asked to create a payoneer account with Appen. I have already created one with isoftstone so do I need to create a new one with Appen or can I link to the account I've already created? Thanks.

Catatemyhomework · 09/12/2019 08:44

Ignore my last query, I have now linked my payoneer account.

Buster27 · 09/12/2019 08:54

Phew, Appen invoice approved. Now I just need to find the motivation to crack on this month, last week could have been better.
