I can't believe this has been going for nearly a year! I feel rather emotional Blush

I'll pop the list up in a second for any newcomers.

Here's to a fantastic December, and bolstered bank balances for January!

Has anyone on Appen not had Anything back re Nov invoice yet? And is this normal? Seen lots of people saying they have had approved or rejected but I've had nothing.

SNISR · 07/12/2019 12:54

@Starlight2004 mines not been approved either yet. I'm sure we get it much sooner normally.

girlicorne · 07/12/2019 13:31

Mine hasn’t been approved or rejected either I think they just have loads to do and it s not due for payment til Friday so plenty of time 😀

Catatemyhomework · 07/12/2019 14:01

I have just bought an amazon echo. I'm hoping it will enable me to qualify for some of the related projects on Appen. We'll see! The plan is that the echo will pay for itself in no time! Grin

Buster27 · 07/12/2019 15:07

My appen invoice hasn't been approved (or rejected) yet either. Guessing it won't be done at the weekend so will forget about it until next week, though I'll feel better once it's approved!

TheLolaMontez · 07/12/2019 18:36

Have you heard anything about Crescent yet @Bemystarlord ? Still not been able to access it, although I haven't tried today...

LivingDeadGirlUK · 07/12/2019 19:03

So if I manage to work 10 hours a week on Crisp what could I expect to earn?

justtheonethen · 07/12/2019 19:34

@LivingDeadGirlUK depends how quick you are but £10 an hour is about normal on there.

Catatemyhomework · 07/12/2019 20:13

Anyone else got the text to speech evaluation task on Neevo? Could be a while doing these as you have to comment on each one and they're worth $0.02 each. Not much really as I don't know how much commenting they expect. I'm going with not much!

anxiouswaiting · 07/12/2019 20:14

My Cresent account has been reactivated - I sent a support ticket and they sorted it out.

67% accuracy on my Appen 20hr task so hopefully I get to stay on that.

Neevo I managed 2270 pronounce tasks but now it is gone, sad about that as was a great hourly rate. Not sure if task is ended now or if I was kicked off for getting too many wrong as it shows as active still in my completed tasks.

SNISR · 07/12/2019 20:17

@Catatemyhomework I've done 600 exactly and giving it a break as my phone got really hot! 😅
I haven't commented on a single one of them as I thought it was optional. It doesn't say it in the instructions either.

Catatemyhomework · 07/12/2019 20:36

@anxiouswaiting, that one ended for me yesterday. Was a bit disappointed as I only did 1000. They were good for when you had a spare 5mins. @SNISR, I thought that speech evaluation task did ask for comments. I just wrote things like clear, natural, unnatural, etc. Very time consuming though and not worth it for the money. I'm still waiting to hear back from appen for things I've applied for so at a bit of a loose end and happy to do 100 every now and then. I never realised how much work goes on behind the scenes in developing artificial intelligence systems!

SNISR · 07/12/2019 20:42

@Catatemyhomework the instructions didn't say we need to so I just left it. It's very time consuming and not really worth the money if comments are mandatory. I will do a few every now and then if that's the case.

seizethecuttlefish · 07/12/2019 21:10

I got accepted for training for Crisp! It's been months. I'd nearly given up. Hoping the training and the test are ok.
I've hardly done anything this week as ds has croup and a bad cold. Gutted but can't put him down for 2 mins. He's very clingy and not sleeping. But yay for Crisp!

DontCallMeDarling · 07/12/2019 21:13

@seizethecuttlefish - am so pleased for you. When did you hear? You will do fine with the test and training. Fingers crossed for the rest of us waiting.

seizethecuttlefish · 07/12/2019 21:44

@DontCallMeDarling I applied in July and heard yesterday. I made a fab friend on this thread and she texted yesterday to say she'd heard and I was so chuffed for her. I checked my spam folder and it was there!
This thread has completely changed things for my family and I! @Otterses needs a blooming medal!!!

user000000000001 · 08/12/2019 07:36

I’ve been lurking on these threads and posted a couple of months back. I was also accepted for Crisp on Friday. I’ve signed everything and submitted, now just waiting for the email with the training links etc. I’m so happy, I applied in august so never thought I’d hear back.

lannister · 08/12/2019 08:06

Congratulations to all those who've heard from crisp. Hopefully I'm next. I've applied twice 6 months apart and still waiting

lannister · 08/12/2019 08:08

A question about Appen- is srt where we do the tasks/projects? I've got my log in but all I can see is it seems like a forum type site? Can't see what else to do there.

lannister · 08/12/2019 08:15

@MynameisJune I think my account is active too because I've got more qualifications test emails but when I click through and log in I just get an error message saying access denied or page not found. Very frustrating

MynameisJune · 08/12/2019 08:36

@lannister yes I get that as well, and then if I log in to Appen I just get the status letter. I’m just going to wait and see if it resolves itself and concentrate on Crisp for now.

XXYY · 08/12/2019 08:43

Hi all, I am thinking about joining an Appen project that requires passing the qualification test, it says if you qualify you would be allocated tasks after one week. If given the task you would need to put in a certain amount of hours each week (3 month project). Assuming I pass the test before Christmas, does it mean I have to start working straight away over the Christmas period once the task is sent to me? Hoping to take some time off over Christmas, may I start in January? The project is Yalong by the way, does anyone has any similar experience with this or other projects? Thank you very much.

Catatemyhomework · 08/12/2019 10:56

Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back from appen once you have selected the qualification option for a project? I have applied for a few in the last week and not heard anything yet. Just wondered if this is normal. Thanks.

Wolfff · 08/12/2019 10:58

@XXYY

If you don't apply straight away you may well find that you have missed out, especially if it's a limited time project.

If you can't do the hours in a certain week you can let them know once you're enrolled in the job.

Wolfff · 08/12/2019 11:02

@Catatemyhomework

Unfortunately that is normal. If there is a lot of work you hear back within a day or two, otherwise it is pot luck. Some people wait months before they are allocated a project.
