Well done sponge, although I fear you are screaming into a void (of rational thinking).
My botted ex refused to have the kids vaccinated, despite the wealth of well-presented evidence I gathered for her. She would always refer to that fraud Wakefield's study as scientific evidence, until he was exposed. At that point, the defence changed to "my gut feeling as an uninformed lay person is as valid as cumulative years of research by highly trained specialists".
One of the greatest pleasures I have had since she left was completing my sons' catch up courses of vaccinations last week.
I had always, out of respect, avoided having the argument or disparaging her views in front of the boys and had never had a conversation about it with them, so I was a bit worried about what they'd say when I told them I wanted to take them for their shots... the 15 year-old told me "I've been reading up on it and I was going to ask for them myself when I turned 16, as it becomes my choice". The 11year-old asked "is Mum being an anti-vaxxer connected with the aloe stuff?". And there I was, worried about the effect on them of spending so much time on the internet! Definitely a proud Dad moment.
@BSintolerant I used exactly that quote about the definition of madness when I told my ex that, after 8 years of her throwing good money after bad at FLP and 'mindset', I could no longer take it.
