Ie after all bills mortgage food etc.

Money to do what you like with/save...

Wondering whether I have stretched myself with my outgoings.

About £1500 some months, sometimes more, sometimes less, after all the fixed outgoings that come out as direct debits. Food, fuel and other general life expenses come out of the £1500. No kids, partner doesn’t live with me.

QueenOfPain · 01/08/2019 00:55

That didn’t make sense. Around £1500 (after fixed outgoings from bank account), but sometimes more, sometimes less - dependant on overtime, unsocial hours, how much A/L i’ve taken, etc.

Around 60000$ sometimes more, sometimes less. Weve 2 kids. No mortgage. We think about moving to Europe, i dont know about taxation and i try to find it out here. I`m new to Mumshet

luckygreeneyes · 01/08/2019 12:43

A lot. However I treat saving as bills so I transfer them as soon as we get paid. I have separate accounts for house renovations, holidays, short term savings, personal savings for each me, DH and the 2 kids.

After all that DH and I have around 600 each personal spends available.

Megan2018 · 01/08/2019 12:46

None. But that is because I have a very expensive horse. If I didn't have the horse then about £700.

That's after absolutely everything else is paid though.

Magpiefeather · 01/08/2019 12:47

About 2 quid

ShabbaDo · 01/08/2019 12:55

With absolutely everything paid (including full weekly food shops and the like.)
Just over £2000.

sanityisamyth · 01/08/2019 12:57

Nothing. Outgoings more than income at the moment, before food, petrol, clothes, days out etc.

tiggerandpoohtoo · 04/08/2019 01:52

I now feel really stupid. We have about £3k a month for food, petrol and general spend. All other bills like car tax etc are covered.
We have nothing and I mean nothing left at the end of the month and nothing to show for it!
I have no idea where to even start with budgeting.
We have no holiday abroad, shop at Primark. Where does it go?

thoroclock · 04/08/2019 02:02

Pennies most months.
Absolutely hate living hand to mouth.

IndieTara · 04/08/2019 02:28

About £70

dudsville · 04/08/2019 08:07

Just over half my income goes into a joint pot for all the aspects of our lives. A minimum of a 3rd of my income goes into savings towards my early retirement. I'm left with approx £300 a month for myself, which is ample (if I don't go seriously spending on things I don't need, much as I have done this year - just stopped that!).

Pennyandthejets · 04/08/2019 09:39

£900. That currently all goes into different saving pots though. One for further education, one for home improvements and one for Christmas so still no holiday or big nights out etc.

Littlechocola · 04/08/2019 11:30

Around £300 (changes monthly but this is average) after all bills, food and fuel although despite budgeting I tend to be in my overdraft by around £100 each month.

JoJoSM2 · 04/08/2019 14:42

1k is a lot to have left over. It means you're probably an above average/high earner.

Fragalino · 07/08/2019 16:47

Personal for me I have 40 a month.
I'm saving it 😂😂 I rarely buy clothes and just get hair done or wax.

All rest is divided up every penny, to car, petrol, fun, weekends, etc.

BobTheFishermansWife · 07/08/2019 16:54

Before I went on mat leave we had about £1200 between us, although we saved half of that. Now I'm on statutory pay it's about £600.

StillIRise87 · 10/08/2019 15:59

About £1000 a month after all bills food etc . £200 into savings/ emergency fund / holidays and about £400 each for spends. All mine is spend on our child.

Lazypuppy · 10/08/2019 16:02

I have £50 a week for fun money

moccaicecream · 10/08/2019 18:51

none whatsoever - no savings, no treats eyc. but one of the DC is severely disabled and I can only work very few hours so I suppose it's fair and square as I don't really provide financially for them but have to rely on benefits. But the children never go hungry.

eve34 · 10/08/2019 19:30

On a four week month £330. On a five week month £230.

If the children's father paid his child support that would increase by £500 a month.

We get by. I know I am lucky. But I'm sick of juggling everything.

LettuceP · 10/08/2019 19:36

Probably about £800

CherryBlu · 10/08/2019 19:37

If I'm lucky £100 a month ☹️ some months I'm in the minus. Hopefully it will get easier as the kids get older 🤞

LettuceP · 10/08/2019 19:37

As a family I mean, not just me. 2 adults and 2 small children.
