6 months in and still going strong! It's the July earn £10 a day thread!

Let's try not to fill this one up too quickly Grin

I think everyone had an absolutely smashing month in June, with lots of luck thrown in at the end of it for good measure. I think we're all proving it's possible you can earn £10 a day from the comfort of your own sofa.

I'll pop together an updated list of earning methods later, I haven't had coffee yet Grin

All new joiners are welcome Smile

Hi all - checking in again :)

I asked this before a few months ago but honestly the replies got lost in the thread and I don't remember the answer 😂

I take it doing these things, surveys/Crisp/Appen etc counts as a side business? So if we earn more than £1000 it needs to be self assessed? Is that right?

I'm young and dumb and know nothing about taxes I apologise in advance. But the taxman scares me and I don't want him at my doorGrin

Mamaslave18 · 08/07/2019 08:58

I got 19 on my crisp test and have been waiting since Feb. So I don’t think it’s your test score that gets you recruited quickly.

CatHopeful · 08/07/2019 09:44

I did my initial Crisp screening test in May, passed first time and got recruited in the recent batch. I seem to remember a question about how many hours per week you would be looking to work, and I wonder if that is used to decide who gets taken on when?

I'm still on training data, though ought to come off that at some point this week according to the email I had at the beginning. Still no Klipfolio, so no idea how I'm doing. No idea if surges apply to me or just to live work. No idea if I'd be getting any feedback re mistakes as I go along or at the end of the training data. Generally feeling a little at sea with it. I haven't been able to do anything at all since the middle of last week anyway as have had so much else on at home. But if it all pans out, that's one of the real upsides of Crisp I guess.

DontCallMeDarling · 08/07/2019 10:09

@NeverSayFreelance yes is the answer!

@cathopeful I suspect you are right on this. I picked one of the middle options. I imagine a large number of people do. Probably should have opted for loads of hours or hardly any lol. I got 20/20 at beginning of June and still waiting. I suspect we will never really know how they do it!

reddA · 08/07/2019 16:54

I'm aiming for £1000 again this month, I don't have any other income though, on £374/£1000 so far so ahead of target but that's only due to crisp being so busy!

I don't think I had training with Crisp, just thrown straight in. Glad Cloudworkers is okay too, I haven't done my Pecwan test as I've been too busy so might pass on it, I've got until tomorrow to take it.

@Otterses hope your day in the real world went well :)

merlotqueen · 08/07/2019 17:16

Afternoon, Is anybody doing the cloudworkers chatroom moderation? The email warns of explicit content.

@Mamaslave18 Me too, I have actually emailed for an update after seeing people more recently passing the test up and working!

NeverSayFreelance · 08/07/2019 17:32

Thank you @DontCallMeDarling ! Grin

Otterses · 08/07/2019 18:10

Thank you @reddA Grin it was quite uneventful (though DS decided to projectile vomit twice this morning before I got out the door!) I'm still not 100% sure where my desk is... and lots of information being thrown at me about personal safety, varying routes from work, etc. Was a bit dull if anything!

They seem relieved I'm coming back tomorrow though Grin apparently most don't.

Going to attempt some crisp this evening. DS is ignoring me so that should be easy... Sad I admit I got in a bit of a state this morning. DS really wanted me to stay home with him, and I did make me wonder if working outside the home was the right call. Felt absolutely awful about not being able to stay with him.

Trying to remember I'm trying to make the world a better place from him though.

reddA · 08/07/2019 19:01

Aww, bless him, he'll get used to it though, just a change to his (and your) routine. I think I skipped out of the door to work with DS1 - he was a whingy baby Grin Blush

Otterses · 08/07/2019 19:26

@reddA

I did when he was 9 months! he was an absolute arse when he was smaller. I think I'm finding it harder this time round, at 19 months I think he's actually more bothered about me leaving Grin

My crisp money is going to buy me a nice pot plant for my desk so I remember where I work. Was a bit gutted to realise I can't have photos of DS + family out for security reasons Sad

A mini pumpkin plant? Grin I'm knackered, off to bed and some crap tv for me - Crisp gets a little addictive when it's busy but my brain has switched itself off so game over for today

SorryDidISayThatOutLoud · 08/07/2019 20:32

CatHopeful, I feel the same way. I would love to know if I am doing stuff right or wrong! Also although I am logged into Slack I am not sure if I am supposed to be announcing it? I'm just sneaking it atm, lurking while I work and then disappearing out when I'm done.

SorryDidISayThatOutLoud · 08/07/2019 20:34

Plus - Appen people, is anyone working Java? Each time I log on there is nothing there.

SorryDidISayThatOutLoud · 08/07/2019 20:36

Aww, Otterses. Glad your first day went okay (ish)

ShinyButtons · 08/07/2019 21:16

I've still not got login sorted for crisp so hopefully tomorrow it will be sorted and I can log on.

Cloud workers is going quite well though I've managed to speed up quite a bit tonight and have stopped putting so much thought into my messages. I find the young Australians hard, mainly because I often have no clue what They are talking about lol

FloofenHoofen · 08/07/2019 22:08

SorryDidISayThatOutLoud did you pass the exam? You must be the only person on Appen to pass it if you have!

SorryDidISayThatOutLoud · 08/07/2019 22:12

FloofenHoofen, really? Yes I did, and got the login for Baseline. Makes no difference, I’ve been in and out of there like gawd knows what and there is never any work!

FloofenHoofen · 08/07/2019 22:21

Amazing well done! I'm on Baseline, but I work Index. So can't speak for your project sadly. Could it be that there's tasks but perhaps not perhaps not for your locale.

Have you tried sending them an email and asking when tasks will be available?
I can only assume that the reason there's no work is because so far I've not seen a single person pass it, other than you.

m00rfarm · 09/07/2019 09:44

@ CatHopeful - have you had your Klipfolio login yet? I have not had anything (and we were accepted at the same time so assume we will continue to run the same path!)

3dogsnorth · 09/07/2019 10:14

I've registered with Streetbees. Can anyone tell me how you get info on jobs?

MrsGaryLightbody · 09/07/2019 10:20

@3dogsnorth hiya , have you got the app? Just refresh page , click on any job you fancy. Mainly at beginning I took pics of my breakfast Smilebut now it seems more out to eat type jobs. I've been doing it about a week or two and earned 5£ but I don't eat or drink out so am limited.
Hope that's helpful, good luck!

CatHopeful · 09/07/2019 10:21

@m00rfarm no Klipfolio yet, and still on training data...

m00rfarm · 09/07/2019 10:22

@ CatHopeful - thank goodness - I was getting worried. I am not doing much training data - not sure how much longer we have to wait before we can start properly but the Klipfolio login I thought we would have had by now!

CatHopeful · 09/07/2019 10:36

@m00rfarm - I'm not doing much of the training data at the moment anymore. I'm really unclear on WHY I'm doing it, when others are not, and on why it's just training data for monitoring and not also moderation. The content is very samey but also really quite vague for a lot of it. I don't know whether the surges apply to training data (I can't imagine they do). I'm not clear on whether I'm making mistakes, and whether they would be flagged in more or less real time as they would with live work. The initial email said it would be reviewed at the end of 7 business days, which assuming they count day one as the same day they gave me the Crisp log in, would be end of day yesterday. So I'm hoping for some sort of progress this week. And on top of all of that, I cannot track how I'm earning.

m00rfarm · 09/07/2019 10:38

@ CatHopeful - that is exactly how I am feeling. If I am making mistakes, then unless they tell me, I will continue to do exactly the same mistakes as I believe I am doing things correctly! Hopefully someone will come back to us today (otherwise I will email Tracy and see what she says)
