I'm fortunate not to know anything about babies in the scbu, I'm going to guess that you don't put anything on or in the baby unless directed to do so by a medical professional.
I know from friends that they do everything to promote the bond between mum and baby with as much skin to skin as is possible.
I breastfed all of my children for at least 2 years each. I haven't breastfed for years but I still don't use anything on my body that has a fragrance. No perfume, nothing. You don't want to give your baby a face full of perfume while holding them close, or get them covered with a lotion that may not be suitable for their delicate skin.
I can't think of anything that forever sells that would be suitable for a new mum and a poorly baby.
If the mum is giving the baby breast milk, either from the breast or via pumping then you don't want to be taking anything that a medical professional hasn't okayed.
Though if you've just given birth you won't be skinny so really you should be doing a C9 by day 5 after the baby is born.
