MLM Bot Watch 42

Spongebobette · 18/08/2018 12:09

This is the 42nd thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, TS Life, and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs
Over 90% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

Messiah is so full of crap that nothing he posts, either words or photos, can be relied upon as truth.

Has he had any products manufactured other than the samples he's shown?

Is the whole thing a scam?

Is he actually going to attempt to make his MLM work knowing that the only one who will come out on top is him?

I've got absolutely no idea, but I don't believe anything he says.

acatcalledjohn · 21/08/2018 21:44

Yeah, my PT mention the words pyramid and scheme when telling me about Herbashite client.

I was most impressed given that this has never been a topic of discussion during my PT sessions.

acatcalledjohn · 21/08/2018 21:48

Less than 250 hours before the unveiling of the messiah as a very naughty boy.

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 21/08/2018 21:52

What is a PT?

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 21/08/2018 21:52

Personal Trainer?

acatcalledjohn · 21/08/2018 21:56

That's it!

Brokebot's latest video (I'm about a minute in and struggling to listen to his BS already) tells us he ended up in the nick for growing his own marijuana and using it as pain relief.

Does he really think we all are as stupid as him?

StrongTeaDropOfMilkNoSugar · 21/08/2018 23:07

Hi all, I’ve been following these threads for a few months as a lurker. An ex-colleague had become a fully fledged Arbonne bot, and as I started to Google more about it I found Ellebeau’s blog, and then found myself here.

Although I wouldn’t say ex-colleague and I were friends as such, I’m still worried about her. She’s a single mum with 4 kids and works full time, but seems to be constantly pissing money away with attending people’s white Merc presentations, training days, launches, and she’s even done the Vegas thing a couple of times too. She’s constantly necking ‘fizz sticks’ so she can get up at 5am for her ‘miracle morning’ of mindfulness, mindset training and goal setting. I just wish she’d save the cash or spend it on her kids! I’ve tentatively messaged her a few times suggesting she track her BizNiz expenditure vs income, and asking how much of her sales are retail rather than to other arbonnites, but she’s convinced the spend is ‘investing’.

Anyhoo, thank you to all the regular posters who are keeping up the focus on exposing MLMs. These threads have helped me realise it’s a much bigger problem that just arbonne.

If someone could DM me who the likes of Broke, Yawn, W&S, Salon, Castle etc are then I’d be grateful thanks.

Lonelybutnice · 22/08/2018 06:10

Place marking - a little late.

Whiterangey · 22/08/2018 09:31

@StrongTeaDropOfMilkNoSugar Sleep deprivation, getting up at 5am for a couple of hours of brainwashing, is a classic cult tactic. One used regularly in MLM.

Your ex-colleague sounds like she is in deep, that really sucks.

9dartfinish · 22/08/2018 09:43

Yip, Miracle morning......seen it all before from the bots in my life.

Up at the the crack of dawn to head into the home office, then later on at night come the live training calls and don't forget those late night gratitudes.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 22/08/2018 12:09

Roomie's done a boast post with a Mulberry bag .

I take it that she's hoping that everyone will have forgotten that she previously posted about the fake Mulberry, fake Ray Bans etc they brought back from their holiday and that we'll think it's a genuine one.

What is it that they say is the first rule of lying? Something about remembering what lies you've told to who??

ArbunneHun · 22/08/2018 12:37

A friend of mine just applied for a ‘Retail Assistant’ job on a job centre website.

Guess what?

It was MLM. Oriflame, to name the brand. Outrageous that they can do that. He told the Bot where to shove her ‘pyramid scheme’.

9dartfinish · 22/08/2018 12:56

Herbalife are back in the mire again, Ex-Distributors have launched a class action lawsuit in Florida.

www.cbsnews.com/news/herbalife-sellers-say-marketing-events-were-a-sham/

Herbalife are more vulnerable now following on from the bad publicity of Betting on Zero and the departure of former CEO Michael Johnson.

Such a shame that the attempts to bring down Herbalife by Bill Ackman became nothing more than a battle of wills with himself and Carl Icahn, two rich and powerful enemies left to settle a personal vendatta and the victims of the company became a sideshow.

The fall of Herbalife could have easily have been the catalyst for the an industry wide "House of Cards" collapse.

Happypuppy · 22/08/2018 14:00

Roomie cracks me up.

Friday night she was crowing about presenting to 12k people and then yesterday was so proud her video had 2.5k views!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 22/08/2018 17:13

Once again it's a case of losing track of what lies have been told to who!

Whiterangey · 22/08/2018 18:01

Roomie is priceless.

Those 2.5k views don't actually mean someone was watching, if you have autoplay on, so when you are scrolling your facebook videos play automatically, it will count you seeing the video playing for 0.2 seconds as a view.

Given that the group she did the live on has 12.5k people in it, and i'm guessing all were urged upon joining the group to see first everything is posted, it's possible that the actual amount of people physically watching was in single figures.

Notice no screen shot with the eye with the number currently watching on it.

So an FL bot claim that they want to build their new recruits to £2000+ "extra income" a month but it's a home based business so unlike in a second job the taxman won't take all your extra income. Now I am not the best with taxation but my understanding would be that:

  1. if you are a sole trader you do have to pay tax the same as a second job would unless a) you aren't declaring the income b) you are declaring but your expenses are so high you don't actually make any profit out of your income or c) you are setting up a Ltd company and doing stuff I don't understand with dividends to minimize tax.

  2. whilst a second job may be taxed at a higher rate than your first job, there is no tax band in the UK that takes 100% of your income so you would always earn more than if you didn't have a second job.

I think I would personal take tax advice from an accountant not an MLM bot but happy to be corrected if I understand my taxes incorrectly!

Norma27 · 22/08/2018 20:12

According to yawn, if you join her team it is a home business so the taxman doesn’t take your income like he would a second job.
Oh My God. What is she doing telling people such nonsense!

BSintolerant · 22/08/2018 20:41

What would FL HQ think of Yawn promoting tax fraud?

cozietoesie · 22/08/2018 20:50

What might the Revenue think about it? Grin

Joy1983 · 22/08/2018 23:06

I work from home and complete a tax return if I was to run another business alongside my main one I would have to declare this.
When I brokered for another business they informed HMRC that I was self employed.

darceybussell · 23/08/2018 01:30

The tax would be almost the same as a second job if you had a business on the side, that is unless you didn't declare the income, which is illegal.

Not that any of her recruits will need to worry about that as they won't make a profit to be taxed - but you're right she's talking bollocks and presumably advocating breaking the law.

Hunbot · 23/08/2018 05:46

Very sad. Saw an ad on a local Facebook selling site that a bot had put up with the usual will pm you hun type stuff. Had a look at her profile to see what shite she was selling and it was actilabs. Going back about 6 months her profile was normal with pictures of her family etc then she posts a picture saying she is an acti babe or some such rubbish and every single post over the last 6 month is related to actilabs. Latest picture shows her acti collection and it is massive. Her little sisterhood saying in the comments - oh you have to get the new brush set etc etc - it must have cost her a fortune. Feel sorry for her little kids

Norma27 · 23/08/2018 06:55

I used to be an accountant years ago for a big 4 firm, advising on all aspects of tax!
I worked with several ex tax inspectors and they used lots of ways to discover income. I remember driving somewhere once and threw was an advert in a house window advertising something like homemade cushions. I was told if he was an inspector still they would use ways to find out if they declare income.

This was before Facebook and social media, but I’m sure they must look through Facebook accounts to see if people are stating jobs they do not declare income for.

As stated though, the bots will make loses rather than profit though. Yawn, you truly are a parasite.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 23/08/2018 09:27

Jeez no wonder bots don't routinely put prices for products on their FB posts and do it all secretively by pm.

I've just seen that a carton of aloe shite is £18.99 (and that's a special offer lower price!!) Shock Shock and the triple pack is £60.
