If Aldi delivered?

I'm really annoyed that Aldi doesnt deliver groceries because they really do sell the best quality.

If they offered home delivery, would you use it too?

Without question! As it is I either go super early or late evening because I can’t bear crowds or the stressful rushing through the tills. So yeah, delivery would be awesome.

bringbacksideburns · 16/05/2018 16:46

Absolutely. It's a pita having to go one night after work. I'm knackered by then and hate food shopping. I could do it in 10 mins and budget more if it was online.

Don't understand why it doesn't when it's one of the most popular supermarkets in the country.

Used to do it with Tesco online but stopped when it got expensive and Asda before that but I used to get problems with my orders and items not replaced or late deliveries etc

Millionairesshortbread1 · 16/05/2018 16:51

They do the very best tiffin and millionaires shortbread, I’d order loads of it so I didn’t look greedy in the que.

TheCatFromOuterSpace · 16/05/2018 16:53

Absolutely. Our local aldi doesn't have car parking so it's a case of how much stuff I can carry home.

DunkandEgg · 16/05/2018 16:55

I'd use them!

RavenLG · 16/05/2018 16:56

I would imagine this is one of the reasons they don't deliver. It would push prices up, and isn't best use of their staff. 'German efficiency' and all that.

I prefer selecting my own items personally, but don't drive so it would be good when DP is working. The time it takes to do an online shop and get distracted by facebook, mn, anything else online, I can whiz around aldi anyway.

DunkandEgg · 16/05/2018 16:57

Do you use a wheelie shopping Trolly ,The cat? I love mine.

celebrityskin · 16/05/2018 16:59

They do deliver wine though! We looove it!

sexnotgender · 16/05/2018 17:00

Definitely! Though I’d prefer Lidl, do 99% of my shopping there.

StylishMummy · 16/05/2018 17:02

My DH's friend is part of the digital team who are working at Aldi on the introduction of Home deliveries. The biggest obstacle is the logistics, but the estimate is 2020 rollout Smile

MadisonAvenue · 16/05/2018 17:05

Definitely! I love the products they sell but hate shopping there, my local one is like getting around an obstacle course when I go as they seem to be restocking at that time and the aisles are blocked by stock and empty cartons.

mostdays · 16/05/2018 17:06

God yes. I'd love home delivery but love Aldi products and prices more. The convenience of getting it delivered is not worth the extra cost of using a far more expensive supermarket.

Tfoot75 · 16/05/2018 17:16

Not sure how they’d do so without it costing a lot in delivery charges, as their whole model is based on low staff numbers and very little by way of customer service. At best it would probably be chiller cabinets to click and collect self service from the car park like they have in some branches of asda.

Rudgie47 · 16/05/2018 17:21

Yes but you would miss the experience of your shopping being thrown at you.I suppose the delivery drivers could throw it all at your door instead.

JoffreyMonfrere · 16/05/2018 17:22

I want M&S Food delivery

Tunnocksmallow · 16/05/2018 17:26

OMG! I would be so happy if Aldi did Home delivery. I hate having to make about 5 trips to the car for all the bags, up and down flights of stairs too!
Let’s all pray this happens

LynetteScavo · 16/05/2018 17:27

I would sooo use Aldi June delivery!

Even though I dint need to now my DC are older and DH works less, I would forget fewer things as I could add to my basket...then I wouldn't need to go to Sainsbury's midweek. I'd save so much money!!!!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 16/05/2018 17:27

StylishMummy that's interesting.
I used to have mine delivered by tesco and switched due to keeping costing down.

I recently did a tesco online shop from my aldi receipt to see how it compared because I missed getting it delivered. It was £30 more 😲

I'd use the service, well I'd try it to see how they do.

JustSeeingHowManyCharactersWeC · 16/05/2018 17:36

they really do sell the best quality.

They sell low end stuff in fancy packaging so you think it's nice, try Ocado if you are after quality.

DunkandEgg · 16/05/2018 17:54

I've used low end stuff and there's no comparison.

Rapunzel15 · 16/05/2018 18:35

God yes! I drive 12 miles once a month to my closest Aldi and its worth the trip just for the nappies! Id do all my shopping there if they delivered

TeaAndBisquits · 16/05/2018 19:57

I would love this!

I still sometimes use the Tesco delivery because I'm so short of time, but it's SO much more expensive.

I too like to put the Aldi receipt into the Tesco app to see how much I've saved! Blush

tadpole73 · 17/05/2018 21:34

Definitely

PaulDacreRimsGeese · 23/05/2018 14:12

Yes! I don't mind paying a bit more either. I appreciate what they say about not best use of their staff, but could they not employ more?

Chimichangaz · 26/05/2018 09:42

Aldi Head Office is near me. I went for a job there in 2014, didn't get it sadly but my research showed they were recruiting for digital team back then. The agency I went through admitted they were looking at online shopping but more of a 'click and collect' model. Just can't understand why it's taken them so long, if as pp says it's a 2020 rollout?
