EXTREME money saving tips??

Ok so I'm really struggling financially at the moment. So I am having to watch every single brown penny.... it's just myself and my little girl at home. I have taken some steps to start really crunching my money ... please don't judge me....
washing my dishes in cold water (with liquid of course)
Started microwaving pastas & rice rather than boiling them...( save gas)
I have started taking big walks so that I am out of the house to save on electricity & gas...
I have cut down on the amount of times I boil the kettle for cuppas etc.
I already cook in bulk which is such a money saver..... I have lots of Freezer meats, chicken, beef meatballs etc... to use up so our weekly shop is pretty small at the moment... like today I walked to aldi (35 mins) and back and our weekly shop only cost me £11.15
Can anyone tell me any tips I may be missing? This is only short term we should be back on our feet soon Smile
TIA X X

Sign up for several free gym trials, use their shower etc.

When you do have the oven on cook loads of stuff at once : casserole, baked spuds, cakes etc.

Also:

Start a crowd funding page?

Even if you ask for a small amount it will help?

homemade chapatti. Somewhere on a mn thread these were mentioned

have a look and see does your council have a home safety officer, ask for a visit from them (should be no problem esp with a child). You will get a discussion on things to keep safe<

But crucially they give you stuff, my local lady was here in February in the thermal supply stuff i got 2 pairs of branded heat holder socks, 1 branded Regata thermal gilet, an unbranded thermal scarf and thermal gloves, i also got a thermal blanket and a load of other goodies more relevant to me but that was the standard bundle,.

There would have been another set for a second person living here if there was anyone.

If you and your DD could manage it, share a room for a few weeks and rent out the other room. We have a spare and put it on Gumtree every now and again. We rent it for a set period which comes in handy, esp if you live near a hospital and staff are moving into the area.

Put a small brick in the cistern to save on flushing water. Or just flush less often (if it's yellow, let it mellow. Brown? Flush it down)

What about as you will be walking a lot, resolving your shoes to make them last longer.
Do you have a freebay in your town.
Ours is excellent .

I know you mentioned about going for long walks during the day, but what about visiting the local library. Ours does free baby/toddler classes too.

The biggest saving you can make is to change how you eat and dress

  • all clothes from charity shops (same price as cheap stores, MUCH better quality)
  • food : buy fresh. THe less processed the food you buy the less you overall pay per kilo
get into checking the reduced section of the supermarket for what you can buy to freeze but ANY "pre prepared" food is a luxury to avoid

Get receipts at ASDA and check for cheaper guarantee vouchers?
