Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

NEW Link to the Daily Mail article of 20 May 2016 regarding an ex-bot's treatment at the hands of her 'spline' at Forever Living UK

NEW Link to NastashaBarnbotShingles' refutation of the above.

We have our own regularly returning bots to tell us how bullying and hateful we are.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Twunk (AKA ForeverYazoonique) has a bottle of Banana Yazoo in her fridge. She's still too afraid to drink it. Yahoo is important as seems to be the primary retail product for Life Tree World.

Hello, my aloe-loving, Yazoo-drinking #foreverfamily.

I've lurked my way through the last however many threads and can no longer resist joining the fun Grin.

n0taBotfan · 25/05/2016 16:43

Welcome Bleak - good to have you on board :)

BleakBetty · 25/05/2016 16:50

Thanks n0tabot!

I've been having some 'heated debate' with a few bots over my sharing of the DM article (only for them to delete their comments swiftly Grin) and I've come to the conclusion that the majority of the British public can see through these rackets. The bots kind of got roasted.

I'm loving the resistance. It's about effing time!

NorbertDentressangle · 25/05/2016 16:52

It's quite ironic that she's watching this thread when her post on fb is about people (aka haters) watching her posts.

I can only reiterate what others have said - we're not jealous, we're not haters, we're just watching it all unfold , waiting for the big implosion.

MrshumbleSnide · 25/05/2016 17:00

Hi bleakbetty great to have you on board! Flowers

ForeverYazoonique · 25/05/2016 17:02

Hello BleakBetty

What are your feelings on Yazoo?

I think you're right - the majority who know MLMs exist are either bemused by them or actively antagonistic towards them. I have to admit the first time I even heard of Forever Living was through my newsfeed when a friend joined - I had no idea what an unpleasant scam it is (as they all are, to be fair).

The more people we have getting the message out there, the smaller the pool of people available to recruit. Some will anyway of course.

OP posts:
ForeverYazoonique · 25/05/2016 17:05

I am a hater, I hate people being scammed. I have no feelings about the individuals concerned because they look like the same Bot to me. The hair changes, the faces alter, but they are all the bloody same, spouting the same shite.

Spongebobette · 25/05/2016 17:10

It's particularly upsetting to see the success bots sharing photos of themselves in some café with a young mum who they've 'coached and mentored'; all I can see is someone who has no qualms persuading someone else to part with £200 and then start harassing everyone they know while believing that this is going to change their lives.
It's just aloe gloop with no magical or medicinal properties FFS.

What the success bot has done, recruiting another woman, is purely for her OWN benefit, that's what's so very sad.

Foreverfibbing · 25/05/2016 17:13

I've had an ickle name change .

It appears that as their individual markets have become saturated, mid to highish level bots are jetting off to Glasgow/Dublin/Liverpool etc to drum up more victims recruits. And the uber bots are doing the same but more internationally - Doha, Africa - the US has also been tapped by one as a possible new source, although that seems optimistic to me. The US is positively groaning with MLM adherents as far as I can see. There again, it's a big old place...

MrshumbleSnide · 25/05/2016 17:18

I know delurker yet more evidence of intimidation and yet they just dont see it do they? Well, never mind, you know the old saying "pride goes before a fall".

MrshumbleSnide · 25/05/2016 17:19

Where is aloe going to pop up next? Aleppo? Crimea? 😳

BleakBetty · 25/05/2016 17:26

ForeverYazoonique, my feelings on Yazoo are that it's the perfect complement to Weetabix and East End Chickpeas Grin.

Thanks for the welcome all!

Talking of LifeTree (slightly off topic here), here are some amusing screenshots of a local FB sales group and a (totally moronic) bot who was trying to recruit (unsuccessfully, obvs).

Foreverfibbing · 25/05/2016 17:30

Oh my word, Bleak. That's unbelievable!

Words, for once, fail me...

ForeverYazoonique · 25/05/2016 17:32

They're all such nice people...

I would say that's unusually unpleasantbut for LTW especially it's par for the course.

OP posts:
BleakBetty · 25/05/2016 17:34

I know! I just can't believe that they think they're going to get 'expensive cars' and 'the most up-to-date technology' by buying a basket of Weetabix from a company called 'Life Tree World'. Delusion at its finest!

MrshumbleSnide · 25/05/2016 17:34

Wow bleak that is astonishingly nasty! I know they love to mock people with J.O.Bs as they call them (regardless of those that have suddenly changed their tune) but seriously? Laughing at care workers and the mentally ill? Thats a new low.

MrshumbleSnide · 25/05/2016 17:36

That I.Q though... ConfusedHmm

ForeverYazoonique · 25/05/2016 17:39

LTW is the pointiest tetrahedral Egyptian monument out there.

OP posts:
ForeverYazoonique · 25/05/2016 17:46

It did occur to me. The MLMs are popular but they must hate publicity. Whilst it's all "person to person", Facebook feeds, secret groups, sizzles, all that bollocks it's under the radar. And if it's under the radar then it's also out of the spotlight. They say there's no such thing as bad publicity but if you have a dodgy business model I suggest it's all bad publicity.

After all, two bots made $1m bonuses - weird it wasn't publicised more publicly....

OP posts:
Spongebobette · 25/05/2016 17:47

Well that was horrid Betty, but refreshing in a way, not an 'excited!!', 'amazing!!' or 'so blessed!!' to be seen.

BleakBetty · 25/05/2016 17:47

I'm rather tempted to see what LifeTree HQ would think of it, although I'm not sure if they can receive emails.

Do you think they have Wi-Fi in that dilapidated shed they call HQ? Hmm

MrshumbleSnide · 25/05/2016 17:50

Hahaha.... Yeah, I wouldnt waste your time bleak, I higly doubt HQ give a crap... This particular scheme is dodgy as hell!

Foreverfibbing · 25/05/2016 17:53

Oh - I forgot Slovakia earlier from the "global businesswomen" who'd never flown on her own before.

That was beyond ironic for me!

I run a business and have to fly all over the place on a regular basis. On my own! Who knew?

Foreverfibbing · 25/05/2016 17:54

And I agree with MrsHumble, Bleak. I VERY much doubt LTW HQ would give a flying shite ;)

stopfaffing · 25/05/2016 18:06

Bleak, sadly that LTW clip you showed upthread is typical evidence of the calibre of people who do LTW. Illiterate, ignorant, childish and juvenile. Anyone remember Prince Twatface's contributions? Grin.
