Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

NEW Link to the Daily Mail article of 20 May 2016 regarding an ex-bot's treatment at the hands of her 'spline' at Forever Living UK

NEW Link to NastashaBarnbotShingles' refutation of the above.

We have our own regularly returning bots to tell us how bullying and hateful we are.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Twunk (AKA ForeverYazoonique) has a bottle of Banana Yazoo in her fridge. She's still too afraid to drink it. Yahoo is important as seems to be the primary retail product for Life Tree World.

I saw a couple of comments that were toeing the line so to speak but nothing as described... Damn they're quick deleters :L

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 09/06/2016 21:24

This comment still stands and is, I think, spot on:
"Without overcharging for their products and without having fees or relying on recurring product orders (by the people within the program), an MLM would die out very quickly. Unlike legitimate sales models, they rarely rely on selling quality products at a good price to customers. They rely on selling people on the scheme fees so they can do so to others….and the endless chain continues until people wake up to what is really going on."

Toobusytowee · 09/06/2016 22:57

I would just like to thank the person who came forward and spoke to the reporter. They have been very brave in doing so. I really appreciate how difficult it is to leave an MLM, deal with all that stress and to then stand up and tell the truth so publicly. I know it was hard for them. Well done.

crazycatlady26 · 09/06/2016 23:32

This is laughable, from an "it works" bot Grin

What do you vipers loveky ladies know about Maelle? My lovely friend has been doing Younique (against all my advice) for the last year or so but today has announced - via facebook, naturally, that se is sooooo excited to be joining Maelle. I am really worried for her... Is it the load of shit that I suspect it is?

"So much to do, so much info to sort out and I'm loving it 😂😍
‪#‎infooverload‬ ‪#‎happydays‬ ‪#‎busybee‬
‪#‎makeuplovers‬"

"I am EXTREMELY excited to announce that I have made the decision to join a new pre-launch network marketing business within the UK and the USA called Maelle Beauty!! 💄💄💄
This is something that I feel right for me & my family! 😀
I LOVED my time with Younique The women are SOOOO special and you ladies will KICK ARSE and I hope that we can all still remain the best of friends ☺
I thank my family & friends for ur support always 💖...

imfinallyfree · 10/06/2016 08:01

Maelle is run by the now ex financial advisor of Younique and the guy has ran off with Youniques new product ideas and developments Grin expecting 'presenters' to pay for a kit now to join yet won't get anything until October. Rumour has it that he has no money to start up so is using the fees people pay to join to get it off the ground

bellabelly · 10/06/2016 09:21

Aaargggh! So it's very likely to fail. I am seeing her tonight and I really don't want to rain on her parade but I really don't want her to waste her time and money on this shit. Need to think of a way of telling her what you have said above that she'll listen to...

cozietoesie · 10/06/2016 09:45

There seem to be some people that are 'MLM-susceptible'. (If one isn't doing so well then they go for the next one/move on to another.) Ask yourself what sort of person she really is - eg what sort of sensitivities and stresses she has in her life.

Is she/was she really a person that you want in your life on a daily basis or was it more that you had a 'habit' of being close to her?

bellabelly · 10/06/2016 10:08

She's a very good friend - that's why I am so worried for her! She really can't afford to be throwing money away if this is yet another MLM doomed to failure. When I expressed concern about pyramid selling etc when she started doing younique, she didn't really seem to take any of it in - PLUS she does genuinely love make up and I think gets a bit carried away with all the glamour and girliness of it. Her "upline" has also jumped ship to Maelle so i suspect has probably pressurised encouraged her to do the same.

cozietoesie · 10/06/2016 10:29

There is people who care about you are worried from BotWatch which you can print out to give to her but from the sound of it, she may already be in too far to be prepared to read it and take it in.

I'm sorry. It's very very difficult when you're sitting across from a smiling, enthused face belonging to someone who was close to you.

There are people who can give you wise advice on the best thing to do in these circumstances. If I recall, it mainly centres on being there for her but always referencing to non- MLM matters and not discussing MLM activities - so that she knows the relationship channel is still open but only on your terms. I'm sure someone else will post to advise though.

It might be hard going even though - perhaps even especially because - she was a good friend.

cozietoesie · 10/06/2016 13:27

As this is Friday (Milkshake Day), has anyone heard from Forever? Grin

cozietoesie · 10/06/2016 14:21

bella

It occurred to me that the second piece at Timeless Vie touches on your very issue. You might find it useful to read that.

Good luck.

cozietoesie · 10/06/2016 19:01

Let us know - very roughly - how it went tonight. Smile

ForeverYazoonique · 10/06/2016 19:41

Oh god yes it is, isn't it?

I'm afraid so. Grin

cozietoesie · 10/06/2016 20:43

Of course, you may become too merry to do it. Grin

Iguessyourestuckwithme · 10/06/2016 20:52

So a friend has been suckered in to this Maelle beauty crap. It's not even "live" yet and shes wanting customers/clients for something that doesn't even have anything going for it until October.

cozietoesie · 10/06/2016 20:59

Organisations can have 'launches' but also 'pre-launch periods'.

ForeverYazoonique · 10/06/2016 21:06

Ok it's open. It has a straw. I'm still sober though

keeptheaspidistra · 10/06/2016 21:28

Hmmm maelle will be offering hardly anything a capsule collection of products and a secret skincare product making it up as they go

All seems a bit emperor's new clothes to me

ForeverYazoonique · 10/06/2016 21:37

Right well I've had a bottle glass or 2 of wine. Am limbering up. Killing the taste buds.
