Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

NEW Link to the Daily Mail article of 20 May 2016 regarding an ex-bot's treatment at the hands of her 'spline' at Forever Living UK

NEW Link to NastashaBarnbotShingles' refutation of the above.

We have our own regularly returning bots to tell us how bullying and hateful we are.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Twunk (AKA ForeverYazoonique) has a bottle of Banana Yazoo in her fridge. She's still too afraid to drink it. Yahoo is important as seems to be the primary retail product for Life Tree World.

Yup yet ANOTHER Toblerone shaped scheme, where DO they all come from??

'
Welcome Gorgeous!
Our guess is that you’ve likely landed here because you love makeup, you love social media and you’re ready to start a new adventure in business and beauty!

You’re in the right place!

We’d like to invite you to become a Maëlle Beauty Mentor of the Beauty and Beyond team. This is an opportunity to start your own business, grow your own team, create residual monthly income and ultimately create the lifestyle you’ve been dreaming of.'

cozietoesie · 28/05/2016 21:51

'super hero products'??

My mind is boggling.

Spongebobette · 28/05/2016 21:54

It's got the usual structure but is calling down lines 'circles'

And almost no info on the actual products but then of course it's never about the products is it!

Spongebobette · 28/05/2016 21:56

The abuse of grammar is toe curling

Empowering Women To Look Good, Feel Good and Sell Good.

stopfaffing · 28/05/2016 21:59

Just reading Beth's fb page with a number of her posts talking about "...so many earning £750 to £5000 bonus's (sic) within a few weeks" or "...on target for their £5K bonus's" or "...members all earning £750 - £10,000 within 2 months!!!!"

They all do that, don't they Hmm? It's all bolliix though.

I am still waiting with bated breath for the additional 20,000 new products (fresh and frozen) to come online as has been claimed...

BSintolerant · 28/05/2016 22:02

bleak Grin

Imagine if Egyptian Tetrahedal Monument schemes were around in ancient Egypt.

When Pharoahbot died High Priest Brainohwash would remove her brain through her nose, which wouldn't take long. After the usual rites involving It Works wraps she'd be buried with all her wampum, two white chariots, enough canopic jars full of weetabix and Yazoo to eat and bathe in in the next world and (here's the best bit) her entire downline would have to be killed and entombed with her so they could accompany her in the afterlife to keep the scam going.

And now I'm off to the Rameses Hilton for a sizzle! Grin

BSintolerant · 28/05/2016 22:04

sponge "Empowering women to look crap, feel crap and sell crap" would be a more accurate strap line on all levels.

cozietoesie · 28/05/2016 22:49

It's American phrasing still, SpongeBob. (Or Canadian, more like.)

cozietoesie · 28/05/2016 22:50

Sorry - Spongebob. (The autocorrect was being moody.)

Whatsaldigottodowithit · 29/05/2016 06:47

Love the new TV post. Very well written

NickAngel · 29/05/2016 06:56

Well, after following threads for months, I've finally had an invitation to join an online Younique party!
It's via FB and a message from a friend of a friend. It had a 'hun' in it too!
I had been feeling left out ( or very lucky) that I didn't know any MLM bots but now I've been sent this lovely invitation.
I can't remember what to do next without going back over threads... Do I tell her? Send link to here? Ignore the FB invite? Stay well out of it?
What's the best thing to do?

Toobusytowee · 29/05/2016 09:15

Hello NickAngel. I think you need to do something. At least it isn't a good friend of yours so you don't need to worry about them not talking to you again.

You could send her a link to Timeless Vie, here and the people are worried about you Botwatchblog post.

People need to hear that MLMs are not acceptable anymore. Hopefully your links will be seen by other people too and the word will spread that we are onto them.

cozietoesie · 29/05/2016 09:16

This was from someone you don't know or care about that much?

crazycatlady26 · 29/05/2016 09:58

Place marking, a bit late on in the thread I know but been so busy with my j.o.b that I've not had much time to be online! Hope we are all well

cozietoesie · 29/05/2016 10:20

Have you managed to keep up with/check out the latest Timeless Vie and BotWatch pieces, crazy? There's some excellent stuff there. Smile

cozietoesie · 29/05/2016 10:23

And for anyone joining the thread, here's a link to Timeless Vie.

cozietoesie · 29/05/2016 10:25

And also botwatchblog.

crumpetsfortea37 · 29/05/2016 10:36

fl bots with escape plans may discover that strategies that work in uk may not work so well overseas.

trinitybleu · 29/05/2016 10:40

Just seen your article on MLM being a feminist issue. Younique is co owned by a woman. You name the company in every thread here and yet you can't be bothered to check out the ownership structure for your blog. Lazy.

cozietoesie · 29/05/2016 10:56

Oh I think that the very last thing you can call the people who contribute to Timeless Vie and BotWatch is lazy. Smile They work away at those sites constantly, including fielding a great deal of correspondence that never comes near these boards.

cozietoesie · 29/05/2016 10:57

Anyway, I'm sure that they will answer your point in some way.

We're allowed to disagree with each other on these threads. Grin

prettyusefulsometimes · 29/05/2016 11:19

trinitybleu Younique was founded by Derek Maxwell and co-founded by his sister Melanie Huscroft. Both Mormons, educated and running their business from Utah. Due to Mormon dictat women within the church aren't allowed to do much outside of the home (and even in the home) without being overseen by a man, preferably a family member.

They have co-opted a feminist, empowering women spiel but it's more of the same wampum slinging, pyramid scheme flim flam.

Hope everyone is having a lovely bank holiday Smile

stopfaffing · 29/05/2016 12:00

Thanks pretty for pointing that very crucial point about Mormon women not being permitted to work outside the home without being supervised dominated by a man, to trinity.

Perhaps trinity you should do some research yourself about what is really going on at the top of Youneque.

I've made a start for you, have a look at this website, a support place for ex-Mormons who have managed to escape.

exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?2,1443556

Some of the comments are superb. Well worth a read Grin.

stopfaffing · 29/05/2016 12:07

*Some quotes from the webpage (they are commenting on this video.

"So they want to empower, uplift and validate women by getting them to wear more makeup through some pyramid scheme.

Yeah, that out to do the job! They will stop at nothing to make a buck (or a few billion I should say.)"

"I guess the thought of all women feeling valued, smart and empowered is too much for him to bear. What will they want next, the priesthood?"

"He's just so proud of women. I mean, look at them- they're all grown up!"

"Who wants to bet the sister came up with the idea but couldn't get her ideas off the ground until her bro came into the picture?

Cofounder, my ass. They're both cofounders."

"There's a look in the crier's eyes that has a distance in it. The tilt of his chin is a battle zone. It keeps trying to tip up in a show of superiority as he fights to keep it humble. And the sister looks like someone trying to break out of herself. Desperation radiates from her like heat from an open fire.

The Stepford people are evolving right before our eyes."

"Serious products are not marketed directly. This company is designed to exploit the desire of people to be self-employed.

MLMs are not legitimate businesses and only exist because of men like Senator Orrin Hatch who are bought and paid for by a corrupt industry."

And loads more! Superb stuff!

Spongebobette · 29/05/2016 12:40

Interesting.

One defence of an MLM selling supplements is apparently that it's been in business for 11 years and if it had been selling snake oil it wouldn't be successful
