Botfan you've actually made a very pertinent post there. MLMs are alot of hard work and anyone doing it as a hobby is likely to lose money. That is exactly what the stats show, that is why 99% of people will not make money. Alot of those who do make money come with ready made downlines (a certain shopping MLM bot who used to be in another MLM did this).

Tojoin I'm confused. You came here looking for info on an MLM, I'm not sure what you expected but being an anti MLM thread you had to expect the "cons" side of MLMs (not that there are actually many, if any pros, you'll find proof here that alot of the claims are lies). Your attitude has changed very quickly from inquisitive to very much "Screw you guys, I'm doing this whether you like it or not". Either your initial curiousness was a veil, or your soon to be crowned upline knows of this thread and has given you "the script" to read.

There's a reason why this thread is very one sided. We're actually a very small voice highlighting all the negatives compared to the thousands of "huns" out there who are in MLMs.

You won't be prevented from coming here again, I think we'd all be interested to hear your experience in 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and beyond. But if you're still quoting some of the MLM bs, don't expect to be welcomed with loving arms. However if it does all go wrong, we also won't be the ones saying "we told you so", we'll be here to help, Timeless Vie will be here to help, that's another reason why we exist.

Good luck on your travels, let's hope you're not one of the 99% (or 99.9% as it more likely is).

BeckyMcDonald · 01/05/2016 19:08

And also, it's quite clear you're not here debating whether to job an MLM or not. You're just another bot who has not been honest about it. In fact, I think we've only had two honest bots on here in 20 threads.NuSkin bot and NatashaShinglesBot. (I think I can say her name, as it was her username. I was complimenting her anyway)

cozietoesie · 01/05/2016 19:13

I do apologise, by the way. I neglected to talk about pop up product ads. The merits of the manufacturer you mentioned would probably best be discussed on the Style and Beauty board I think?

As to the ads themselves, I think it would be no surprise that we pretty well all endorse Mumsnet's current position on them. (And probably buy copiously as well.) Smile

Tojoinornottojoin · 01/05/2016 19:22

Wow someone wants to join my 'team' I haven't decided to sign up yet but thank you, if I do decide to become what you do delightfully call a 'bot' I will be in touch. Why is it unusual that someone should think they could get a 2 sided debate on a thread - if you can't then as my new found friend said a few pages back its just a bitch fest - yes I too have read the thread. Thank you Botfan?? For your input I feel I might have ruffled a few feathers by asking my stupid questions I didn't realise that there was a script I needed to stick to to get information. I'm very curious as to what everyone does to enable them to spend so much time berating MLMS - 20 threads !!! I'm exhausted just reading this one and my house is like a tip because I've been reading this instead of getting on with my day to day jobs - thank god it's been raining today or that would of been a Sunday well and truly wasted. Going to sign off for a bit whilst I read up on Tropic (info pack in hand), I've also asked a FLP rep to give me a call because you can't just go for the first one you see. Laters Huns x

bearbehind · 01/05/2016 19:23

hopefulhamster from your description of your bot I'm pretty sure I know exactly who you are talking about and - yes- they are doing well from FL on the face of it. Not quite top 10 in the UK but managed to photoshop their way out of that one

I honestly don't understand how they have the audacity to boast and brag about the things they do when it's entirely at the expense of their downlines and the people they exploit to buy their products.

What also massively annoys me is the blatant lies - like claiming FL paid for them and their family to go to the rally and fly business class.

It was well seen there were no business class shots on the way home - clearly could only run to BC upgrades one way!

Plenty of people earn good money from honest jobs and don't feel the need to live their lives through social media in order to further their earnings- it truly disgusts me that they and many others do so.

prettyusefulsometimes · 01/05/2016 19:28

Brace yourselves MLM Resistance ..... Ariix launch four new products on May 7th. Any guesses as to their names / use / price? One will definitely be Fantasiize - a cream you slather on your significant other that temporarily transforms them into the object of your fantasiies.

RaeSkywalker · 01/05/2016 19:31

Tojoin Estée Lauder pay their sales staff an actual wage, in addition to other employee benefits, and don't expect them to recruit others. It is clearly not comparable with an MLM.

Ironically, you refer to a "script". And yet, we know only too well that MLM 'business owners' are given scripts to help them recruit others. I see no evidence that any of the responses you have received on here are scripted, but the people who try to recruit you are highly likely to be using them.

I wish you well.

Delurker2016 · 01/05/2016 19:32

Same drunk talk spelling mistakes as a previous poster.
You ask what we need to lay low from, I think you're well aware.

Your comment about Esteé Lauder is comical at best. To ask that question would mean you are indeed just here for shits and giggles.
Enjoy forever tropics, and may you sleep soundly knowing how absolutely abhorrent you have been to people that have taken courage to speak of what they have gone through.

Nolongerconfused · 01/05/2016 19:34

Bye toojoin see you again next weekend when you have a new username and are piste! GrinWink

cozietoesie · 01/05/2016 19:36

Well, pretty. No-one has sought my expertise on aloecryogenics yet. As the world authority on it, I'm sorely disappointed.

cozietoesie · 01/05/2016 19:39

I might add that I fully hope the new product launches to include a quiet dropping/rebranding/sidelining of the one 'opportunity product' without a double 'i'. I've often thought that it was on borrowed time.

cozietoesie · 01/05/2016 19:41

'hope' should read 'expect'.

That was some autocorrect! Grin

RaeSkywalker · 01/05/2016 19:42

My money on Idealiize. Amazing stuff. 2 drops under your tongue each morning and all your wishes come true. Totes impressive.

Toobusytowee · 01/05/2016 19:56

I think the new product will be Pii. It is a scientifically proved and patented formula using only the best natural ingredients from nature. Some people with qualifications have written about it and are photographed looking all intelligent, maybe with books in the background or glasses held in their hands, ready to put on at any moment.

There will be lovely photos of healthy looking young, old, black, white, men and women throwing their heads back and laughing, enjoying their health, vitality and use of this product.

I don't know what the product does. Every time you try and read the label and decipher the ingredients and claims, you just get a headache and go all giddy.

Twunk · 01/05/2016 20:08

Omg!! Eek! Where can I get Pii?! It sounds like exactly what I need for my vague but obviously serious medical problem! How clever do the people in the brochure look?

Twunk · 01/05/2016 20:10

I'm just watching Penn and Teller on the tellybox. Anyone got the link to their lovely pyramid scheme programme?

cozietoesie · 01/05/2016 20:10

They'll have white coats on, Twunk.

Need I say more? Smile

cozietoesie · 01/05/2016 20:12

Triangle programme. Triangle ! Grin

Twunk · 01/05/2016 20:12

White coats you say? Fuck me I'm sold.

prettyusefulsometimes · 01/05/2016 20:13

Ah Coziie I think Ariix may have taken your idea for another of their new products "Forever Liiviing" - it's a homeopathic tincture made from the sweat of top bots as they await ASA rulings. Then there's Reaniimate - but to be fair that's just the aiir puriifiier where the wire's have been tampered with.

You're right Tojoin why am I wasting my time on here - I haven't given the kids breakfast yet!!!!!

Twunk · 01/05/2016 20:13

Oops yes cozie - triangles! D'oh

Twunk · 01/05/2016 20:16

Ariix has rectangles on their site because it isn't a pyramid triangle inverted funnel scheme. Hmm

orangefizzypop75 · 01/05/2016 20:18

bear As I've said before, if FL really was the dogs' bollocks, she wouldn't still be running her legitimate business as FL would obviously be enough to fund the fake lifestyle. Despite the recent cheque, she's forked out how much to pay for her family to go to SA plus all the other expenses such as the shopping she's been flashing about. I seriously doubt there's much of the cheque left after conversion to pounds and totting up everything that has been spent on the fake lifestyle to date. The fraudulency of it all is unbearable and I feel sorry for my friends that have been taken in by it all.

cozietoesie · 01/05/2016 20:21

You see though, orange, I've never doubted that there are a few people - a very few people - who make substantial money out of MLM activity. From whom is it coming though - and at what cost?

bearbehind · 01/05/2016 20:26

orange- I totally agree- although I think legitimate business was mummy's so somewhat of a sideline.

Even though they got a large cheque, after tax and expenses it sure as shit isn't enough to maintain the lifestyle they portray.
