For those who don't have the time to read all of 'Merchants of Deception.'

The book contains the nightmare story of Eric Scheibeler (aka John Jacob), a former federal auditor from Pennsylvania who fell for the 'Amway' fairy story big time.

Eric spent 10 years as a de facto 'Amway' slave/shill rising to the rank of 'Emerald Distributor' with thousands of adoring recruits beneath him. In total, he lost approximately $100 000 of his own money, but passed about $4 millions to his 'Upline' handlers. Most of this came from the sale of publications, recordings, tickets to meetings, etc.

Eric financed his 'MLM' fairy story with his savings and with money from the sale of properties which had previously been a retirement nest-egg.

When Eric first started to confront external reality, he had a breakdown and became almost suicidal with shame and guilt. An 'Amway Diamond' ran a black propaganda campaign againt Eric and even threatened to shoot him and his wife and children.

Yes its Ariix there are several sub brands. The ii spelling of each brand is the giveaway.
That'll probably be the most overpriced essential oil you have ever come across.

Gimlet1984 · 07/02/2016 20:51

Priime is the name of oils they sell along with Puritii the water filter and Slenderiiz weight loss drops. Compared to the other mlms Ariixs products list seems abit sparse but I assume that's because it's fairly new.

Melaw21 · 07/02/2016 20:52

applysomepressure I am seeing this crap on my FL bots page... I feel she is about to start pumping Ariix too.... Ugh.. Give me strength, they all think they are getting sucked into the new pyramid inverted funnel system kid on the block!

If you wanted to put people off, then point out that their mindset trainer (i.e. master brainwasher) is a scientologist. That would make most people run, I reckon.

throwingpebbles · 07/02/2016 20:53

cozie I have been sharing the Timeless Vie pages on Facebook and have had a number of messages etc from people who weren't aware of how awful these schemes are! Keep sharing and share the Bot Watch ones too!

JolseBaby · 07/02/2016 20:53

Finished Merchants of Deception. Really frightening the extent of the control that the MLM had over ES and his family.

If there are any MLMers reading this, then THINK:

If it's so bloody fabulous, why isn't everyone doing it? Why do you have to be schooled and trained in countering objections to get people to sign up?

If the products that you are selling are genuinely so amazing, then why don't they have a high street presence? Why isn't the NHS using them, scientists writing about them, major celebrities endorsing them?

If you are genuinely 'sacking the boss' and now run your own business, then how are you being promoted? How can you be 'promoted' when you aren't an employee? You're the boss - there is no more senior position than that.

If the company changes lives for the better then can you hand on heart say that they are meeting every single marketing promise they made you, when you were signed up? You wanted something to work around your children - how much time are you honestly spending at home?

If it pays so well then why aren't they upfront about this? Why are you encouraged not to talk about specific pay-cheque numbers?

THINK.

Mummystar123 'Herbalife' is completely unlawful, because 'Herbalife' has been the front for criminal racket. The fact that 'Herbalife' is legally-registered, and hides in plain sight, all over the world, is down to a chronic failure of the regulatory system; particularly in the USA.

The 'Herbalife' bosses are some of the most successful racketeers since WWII. They have bought high-level political protection in the USA with mountains of stolen money, but they are by no means unique.

Having said all that, 'Herbalife' could quite literally get closed down at any moment in the USA. It's a publicly traded company, and a Wall St. hedge fund manager with a sense of morality, has spent around $100 millions trying to expose 'Herbalife' as a fraud. The fund has gambled over one billion dollars that 'Herbalife shares are effectively worthless.

Investigations are ongoing in the USA, where more than 1000 'Herbalife' victims have so far come forward to file complaints

Thanks for that link, Eye. Informative.

throwingpebbles · 07/02/2016 21:08

Yeah BotWatch is great too. Definitely another site to point any potential Forever Bots etc towards. It's the brainchild of another mumsnetter Smile

Motorheadmum · 07/02/2016 21:09

That's a great link eyespying

Eyespying · 07/02/2016 21:14

I posted the link on these threads, but a while ago.

The section listing all the 'Herbalife' shill Bots is particularly well researched.
