eye that video is so funny, you can see how people would be drawn into living the dream the bullshit. If only everything behind it wasn't so sinister. People just want to make a better life for themselves, if only they could see they're being taken advantage of.

Quote in the song 'Health and Freedom means we're living the dream' well I have both without these companies!

cozietoesie · 01/02/2016 10:13

Ah - so the 'top bods' swan off to a new MLM taking a few 'privileged' devotees with them but leaving the poor souls they've just recruited to sink or swim?

Sink that would be of course.

Eyespying · 01/02/2016 10:28

rayofhope In the real theatre, peole talk of of the invisible fourth wall which separates the actors and the stage (the world of make-believe) from the auditorium and paying-audience (the world of reality), but in the MLM theatre there is no barrier between make-believe and reality, because the paying audience's reality has become make-believe. The same analogy has been used to describe totalitarian states. The fourth wall in all cults and totalitarian states is built around them to keep reality at bay.

Perhaps the most extraordinary, and mentally-confusing, thing about the 'USANA' musical is the fact that the 'USANA' mob went to the trouble of finding physically attractive professional actors to play the roles of the shill Bots when they were young, but the shill Bots are actors playing roles themselves.

Spikeypants I believe it was the fact that 'Ariix UK' had suddenly appeared listed at an address in S. Wales which alerted Gimlet1984.

www.yell.com/biz/ariix-swansea-8125745/

The 'Ariix' mob actively searches for disaffected shill Bots 'Experienced MLM leaders' wanting to jump ship.

There is a large flock of FL Bots in the UK who must now be reading these MN threads and having serious doubts about their current shepherds.

It's not a coincidence that the 'Ariix' mob has suddenly moved their own 'MLM' game of make-believe to the UK. Their modus operandi has been to round up doubting and lost sheep from other 'Mormon MLM' flocks.

FLhahaha · 01/02/2016 11:16

You know what seems to be conspicuously absent from Bots FB recently? Practically the only time my friends with proper businesses post about money on FB is tax return time. Where were all the 'just done my tax return, posted off a huge cheque to HMRC but proud to be paying my way in this country' posts ?! Wonder why?

cozietoesie · 01/02/2016 11:31

Well the Revenue would be in a position to read their posts as well I would have thought. I seem to recall that they're on the Revenue's radar now?

kamchatka23 · 01/02/2016 11:33

I think the secrecy behind this Ariix thing is a bit weird - none of their bots want to admit who it is they're working with. Even on the posters for their events they go to great lengths to hide it - I only worked it out because of the logo/symbol.
My ex-FLbot that's jumped ship is already banging on about the great team she's working with and "meetings" - she only started up with it last night!

FLhahaha Good point and all governments are strapped fro cash at the moment. Literally minutes ago, I was with a friend (who is real business-owner) whilst he received an astonishing call from the local taxman to say that a substantial payment is due in two months and reminding him to make provison for this.

cozietoesie · 01/02/2016 11:38

I wonder whether there's any difference in the way different countries/societies react to MLMs? I can see some differences, for example, between the UK and the States in terms of our concentration and legislature here - but I genuinely don't know whether the UK was a step too far for them.

Any thoughts?

Patzy85 · 01/02/2016 11:47

The amount they earn is generally so tiny I don't think it's something they need to worry about! Even the top bots, as we have seen, hardly make enough to shout about!

I did however noticed one bot "doing taxes" the other day. She started at the end of November. The mind boggles!

Eyespying · 01/02/2016 12:05

cozietoesie 'MLM' cultic racketeering first entered the UK in 1973 right under the noses of naive regulators who hadn't the beginnings of a clue what it was, only now is it really getting out of control. From my own discussions with certain (honest) legally-qualified UK trade regulators, it seems that successive British governments have been fearful of taking any measures independent of their US counterparts. Unfortunately, the British govenrment hasn't discovered, let alone understood, that 'MLM' racketeers have steadily corrupted the US regulatory system, and legislative process, to a degree which makes the Mafia look like a troop of cub scouts.

Remember, during the Reagan years a lot of regulation was dismantled in the USA, slavishly-following the species theory that free-market economies will ultimately always regulate themselves. Exactly the same species theory has been influencing British government policy, since the Thatcher years.

Unfortunately, if you take this dangerous Utopian belief to its logical conclusion, you discover that when you remove common-sense independent checks and balances in any economic system, ultimately, racketeering becomes the norm. Today, there is a whole class comprising wealthy sociopathic racketeers (and banksters) who have succeeded in placing themselves above the law

Just look at the 'liar loans' scandal.

'MLM' income opportunity racketeering is perhaps the most dangerous, and pernicious, result of this catastrophic regulatory failure.

JustPoppingIn · 01/02/2016 12:25

One of my oldest friends has been sucked into one of the MLM companies (lives overseas). She had such a hard start to life and difficult teen years and has so much hidden vulnerability.

Her latest facebook post shows her with a new hairstyle, new jewellery and looking drawn and ill. Interestingly, the seminar she went to allows / encourages to take babies, showing how family friendly they are.

cozietoesie · 01/02/2016 12:25

Thanks for that, Eyespying. I'll think about it further if I may?

cozietoesie · 01/02/2016 12:27

Is she still a friend, Just, or have you been relegated to the status of 'mark'?

Spikeypants02 · 01/02/2016 12:37

Ahhh thanks Eyespying-wondered why it was linked to the coops. South Wales seems to have more than its fair share of mlm "entrepreneurs"!

Eyespying · 01/02/2016 12:49

Spikeypants The 'Herablife' racket has been particularly active in S. Wales where its bosses managed to get their thought-stopping propaganda on the shirts of the Ospreys rugby team.

Previously, I have contacted the offices of every MP representing Swansea, and various local journalists, to express my concerns, but without any effect.

JustPoppingIn · 01/02/2016 13:03

I am immune, as I live in a different country, I just feel sad for her.

TamaraLamara · 01/02/2016 13:03

A lovely friend of mine has been suckered into this Sad

Of all the people I thought had more sense, she'd have been near the top of the list. I'm gutted, to be honest. She's going to lose money, lose friends, add extra stress to her already demanding family/work situation, and come out the other end feeling foolish Sad

cozietoesie · 01/02/2016 13:14

I guess you just have to be there for her when she either realises or when things come crashing down around her. She's a victim as much as anything else but I don't think there's anything you can do about it.

sminkypink · 01/02/2016 13:21

Boynydazzlers I love that inspirational bullshit meme you posted, it just reads to me as 'Believe Anything,' which is exactly what happens when you've been mindsetted to fuck by one of their 'trainers'.
