Continuing the discussion of the various network marketing schemes or multi-level marketing schemes (MLMs) that people we know are involved in.

If you have a bot of your own then join us and share what they are saying!

Or if you are researching a company before signing up to be a network marketer please take a look at the previous bot watch thread and also this thread which delves deeper into the workings of MLMs.

And don't forget our very own MN MLM Timeless Vie!

google you made a number of statements of fact about the behind the scenes stuff, and were asked to back that up. your response was to 'take your ball home'. nuff said

ReloKayShon · 13/11/2015 23:33

Every now and again I think "well I could just spend the £170 to get £375 worth of stock and keep it myself and not bother trying to flog it" and then remember this still falls under the category of suckered in.

What's the definition of a bot? Where does bot come from?

lastuseraccount123 · 13/11/2015 23:35

ambler21 exactly. they never can.

anyone remember marylennox81? she was my first bot-in-disguise. Aww, thinking about her makes me feel all nostalgic.

lastuseraccount123 · 13/11/2015 23:36

relo i have S&D jewellery too. some of it I still wear tbh, but most of it i don't. . so i too have been suckered in. well done for not even falling for it.

CointreauVersial · 13/11/2015 23:36

What about Phoenix Cards?? Is that in your sights as well?

lastuseraccount123 · 13/11/2015 23:41

lastuseraccount123 · 13/11/2015 23:44

lastuseraccount123 · 13/11/2015 23:48

I get changed for the gym most days before leaving work. One of my work colleagues ( lovely bloke but on the chunky sides so hardly a ringing endorsement' said ' you are into health and fitness aren't you ' then cracked open the old JP spiel. I told him I thought it was a load of shite, hope he never finds out it was me who binned all his leaflets ??

lastuseraccount123 · 13/11/2015 23:59

lol

QuintShhhhhh · 14/11/2015 00:17

I was hoping some of you would know about the wealth dragons, because a friend of mine is sucked in. It seems very high risk to me, as they are encouraged to remortgage their homes to buy really crap investment properties which conveniently the "guru" happen to own and is able to sell on, so they can get started on their buy to let portfolios....

it starts with a free business seminar, then you get sucked in and book into the paid ones (costing quite a lot), then you are selected as a really hot prospect who they think will go far, so you are offered mentoring, which cost another packed. Somewhere along the line you are talked into becoming a buy to let investor to fund your "real dreams". I gather. But it is hard to get, as this young woman has exchanged Gospel for for financial Gain and has found a new god in Mammon.

lastuseraccount123 · 14/11/2015 02:00

quiet that sounds well dodgy. Does your friend post on social media?

A good place to start is to try and figure out who actually is behind the business. We did some digging on Younique, for example and found that the founders were mormon and came from the state of Utah in the USA - according to Eyes (other MLM thread) there is a link between mormonism and these MLMs as they bring money into the mormon church. Maybe see if they are headquartered in Utah - start there.

Do you know if the people who dragged your friend in have a business? It shouldn't be too hard to find out their company details.

And I'm sorry.

Relokayashon: "What's the definition of a bot? Where does bot come from?"
I think its a shortened term for "robot"; from the bots mechanically repeating the same terms and for their indoctrination (see marriedtoanambot.blogspot.co.uk/ :))
Also "bots" are virus thingys that can infect your computer and send spam (I think).

While I'm "mansplaining" :) I must admit a mistake on my calculations upthread: "Even if you had successfully followed the plan (recruiting 2 people per month and teach everyone in your team to do the same) you would run out by December 2017. The'res only 64million people in the UK and you'd run out at 26 months - 2^26 = 67,108. 864".

Although this shows the absurdity of pyramid MLMs we'd run out of people much sooner as my calculation is as if you recruited two people a month who then copy you AND don't personally recruit again. In the original advised example we'd recruit everyone in the UK much quicker!

stopfaffing · 14/11/2015 08:21

google states "I use the products so I can't answer your questions about the behind the scenes stuff".

If you are an fl-bot you have to buy products every month to get 1CC (of your 4 CC's to qualify for Manager). The other 3 CC's you get from encouraging your family and friends to sign up, or sell Clear 9's.

Have your read Masters of Deception? You should, it's an eduction.

But no, you've run off and hid... Hmm

trinitybleu · 14/11/2015 09:14

fastday

Autoships are mandatory products you have to buy, usually if you haven't sold a minimum amount.

I suspect the FL personal use CC are a way of doing it without the autoship label per se, but sounds like same principle to me.

bettyberry · 14/11/2015 09:15

Does anyone know what the 160 master class is? my instagram bot is doing it. Is it generic selfhelp? a FL brainwashingseminar session?

CheekySmile · 14/11/2015 14:16

Not heard of that one Bettyberry, do you think it's specific to her MLM or one more general to all?

Inspired by Xenu I was doing a bit of maths to see for myself how many would be in the pyramid if you followed the 'recruit 2 each month and teach them to do the same' and indeed it would take just 24 months for you to run out of people in the UK, and then 4 months later there wouldn't be enough people in the whole world.

Of course we could run out of people a whole lot quicker if we followed , although the main message of his speech is to get the bots to redirect spending to Forever Living (from 7.24). He says We're not asking you to spend any more money, we're just asking you to redirect

Ahem, the Forever Bright ToothGel at £5.98 is not more than my Tesco Toothpaste at £0.90 which also handily contains fluoride to, you know actually look after my teeth...?

No idea. She just had her planner, a coffee and selfie in the car going to it! I was wondering what on earth it is.

cakeisntforsharing · 14/11/2015 17:14

Slow day on my timeline. One of my bots has started flogging tat alongside aloe gunk. Guess how much this is (excluding postage)

fastdaytears · 14/11/2015 17:24

Ha ha ha who is that aimed at?

I would never under any circumstances entertain the idea of buying that so I'm not going to be able to help.

I reckon she thinks it's worth £4.50.

Cinnamoncookie · 14/11/2015 17:35

Good point fastday, toddlers like SpongeBob, adults like wine... Anyway, I think it's selling for £10.

CheekySmile · 14/11/2015 17:39

That's beeeyyooootiful cake!!

£6?

Dolly80 · 14/11/2015 17:45

Oh I like this thread. I've got a few Facebook acquaintances who are bots and the rubbish they spout on a regular basis is quite amazing.

That glass is one of the most hideous things I've ever seen...£8?

cakeisntforsharing · 14/11/2015 18:25

cinnamon you're the winner! £10 plus £2.50 postage.

I'm not sure who it's aimed at, I don't have kids so maybe I'm out of touch when thinking toddlers don't usually drink wine.

fastdaytears · 14/11/2015 19:48

£10!!!! For real?

No kids here either so maybe this is exactly what toddlers are asking Santa for. I'll send one as a birthday present and see what response I get.
