Continuing the discussion of the various network marketing schemes or multi-level marketing schemes (MLMs) that people we know are involved in.

If you have a bot of your own then join us and share what they are saying!

Or if you are researching a company before signing up to be a network marketer please take a look at the previous bot watch thread and also this thread which delves deeper into the workings of MLMs.

And don't forget our very own MN MLM Timeless Vie!

My bot was at the NEC success day over the weekend and is raving about Laura Reihana. 5500 attended that event according to the FL posts.

Just catching up with it all.

sminkypink · 15/12/2015 23:54

An interesting puff piece about Avon here...

www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3361185/Couple-earn-EIGHT-TIMES-average-wage-enjoy-luxury-holidays-abroad-husband-s-illness-drove-sell-make-door-door.html

I wonder how much the author of the article (Emily Hodgkin) was paid by Avon to write it. IMO it should have had SPONSORED written on it.

LadyHonoriaDedlock · 16/12/2015 10:20

Hahahaha, just rattled a FLbot's cage - she posted the usual crap on a parenting page about her wondrous unspecified business opportunity - I replied 'aloe vera perchance?' and got a vitriolic pm threatening me if I made 'pointless and derogatory' comments to her - then she added 'unless you want information'

MrsHathaway · 16/12/2015 10:43

BTW I'm particularly annoyed today by the "Islamic seal of approval" and "Kosher rating".

MrsHathaway · 16/12/2015 10:45

Nine million distributors, and a turnover of $2.8Bn.

Wait ... that's $311 turnover per distributor per year.

acatcalledjohn · 16/12/2015 10:52

Screenshot the PM and post it in the comments section stating you do not condone being spoken to like that.

sminkypink · 16/12/2015 11:29

haha Lady I've been quite frank with some of them and even though they delete your comments you can still expect a message saying, 'do you have any friends who are interested?'
I've just downloaded merchants of deception, ooh this 'mindset' brainwashing stuff is very familiar.
Our Timeless Vie needs to be certified by the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

LadyHonoriaDedlock · 16/12/2015 12:04

acat I replied "Touched a nerve? Good. Google 'pyramid scam'" Then blocked the weirdo.

xenu1 · 16/12/2015 13:43

MrsHathaway - yes indeed, and as someone pointed out upthread, $311 ~ £200 which is roughly the cost of the starter pack...

LadyHonoriaDedlock · 16/12/2015 13:51

MrsHathaway I thought conning people was haram?

Just been looking on the MN jobs site (I know, I know, I'm bored) and found this which looks suspiciously familiar....

"We are currently looking for both full time and part time 'Online Retailers' to make money online using social media sites.

You will use social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc to promote and sell products to new and existing customers building your own customer base. All new distributors are provided with 2 online shops which are set up from the moment you join which means you can start to earn money right away.

Potential earnings can range from GBP50 - GBP600+ per week and higher earnings are achievable for anyone looking to become a team leader.

Apply now to register your interest"

trevortrevorslatterfry · 16/12/2015 13:51

Brilliant - have not RTFT but have liked Timelessvie on FB - so accurate!

To be fair my MLMbot has not pushed the issue since I rejected the chance to join her team but it's been interesting to see her social media marketing strategy unfold the updates of how the product has changed her life Smile

trevortrevorslatterfry · 16/12/2015 16:58

Sadly a lovely lady I know has become a Yoounique bot very recently. She keeps posting these weird pictures too

lulz you guys are killing me this morning :)

I will see if I can FSM the TV page. ha ha. so good times.

been thinking about doing a post on what a real distributor is/does vs a FL fake one. and then a real stylist vs a S&D fake one, etc.

dylsmimi · 16/12/2015 18:21

My mlm not forgot my dc2 birthday - but managed to send her upline manager person (brainwasher) a present just for 'being inspiring hun'
She apologised she forgot but still no card etc.
I found out because she was tagged in a fb post saying thanks for 2 gifts that came to me today from my team #lovemy girls #it works
Angry
It makes me so sad and angry that she is so deep in this world she is forgetting her actual friends who don't expext Her to sell a ton or products a month

dylsmimi · 16/12/2015 18:21

Sorry ' expect her to sell a ton of products a month'

bettyberry · 16/12/2015 20:31

last a real self employed person Vs a bot?

real - gets into work and looks at the day's tasks, checks emails
bot - FB update 'Loving life and my job xx' with picture of breakfast in bed

Real - tends to calls from clients enquiring about jobs/changes that need making/invoices and questioning a previously accepted quote and gets frustrated very little actual work is being achieved
bot - posts scamverts on social media. FB update 'I have a fab opportunity for 5 new people to earn 100s every month. PM for more details xx' currently still working in Pjs.

Real - sits hunched over their desk working so hard the seat and backside have become one. looks up at 3pm realising they have completely forgotten to eat lunch again and need to rush to pick kids up from school
Bot - FB update 'wish you could live my life? PM hun xx' with stolen from instagram probably photo of a carefully placed plate

Real - rushes about like a blue-arsed fly making dinner for small people, sorting reading books/uniform etc and gets them into bed at a semi reasonable time just to sit down and finish a task that has to be completed by 9am and isn't nearly halfway there.
bot - Posts update about a training evening. Swans off leaving kids in care of DP/mother/soon-to-be convert. Continues posting through the night pictures of wine glasses, hastags on big boards and laptops with their FB page open Completely missing the only few hours awake thier kids are awake. FB update 'love my life and all the time I get to spend with my kids. love them xx'

Real - falls into bed sometime around 2am having sent off the first draft.
Bot - FB update 'wonderful night with the ladies training, who knew you could work and live like this? order going in tomorrow ladies. let me know what you need xx'

Tupperwarelid · 16/12/2015 21:00

Betty don't forget the Bot listens to her mindset cd as soon as she wakes

Real - starts mental to do list as soon as she wakes

acatcalledjohn · 16/12/2015 21:40

Bot: Unable to switch off from 'work' by always posting 'work' things in relation to their lives.
Real: Able to separate work and play.

Bot: Always needs more and thus bugs the shit out of potential 'clients' of 'downline'.
Real: Respects the hand which feeds them.

vanillabeauty · 16/12/2015 23:33

Real: gets paid a decent wage at the end of the month
Bot: pays to watch others get giant cheques, they can't actually cash as they are 'targets to be met'

sminkypink · 16/12/2015 23:54

Real: responds to Enquiries by email, evaluating a potential clients proposal, being frank with them about their. Agreeing on an evaluation meeting but not agreeing to work with them automatically , not until she knows she can deliver and their plan is viable, anyway. Because she usually only works with one entrepreneur at a time as it is so much work. ( This is me, most days).
Bot: responds to Enquiries via Facebook by avoiding explaining anything at all about what the business really is, avoiding discussion of fees, just smoke, lights, mirrors and guilt trips. Makes people watch you tube videos that theyve made. Says yes to everything. Takes on more and more and more, asks these people if they know any more, never turns anyone down ever.

sminkypink · 16/12/2015 23:59

Real: writes blog posts about how her business works, in detail and instagrams the production processes. Tweets genuine news articles from her line of work.
Bot: posts up memes, selfies in onesies and photos of giant cheques, cars, holidays she's never been on, castles she's never owned and cardboard hash tags.

acatcalledjohn · 17/12/2015 00:15

Real: Realist
Bot: Delusional
