yes I'd call the local paper - the weekly, not the daily, should be kinder depending on the paper

(what is your local paper?)

puddle · 11/09/2006 12:34

What about the ask anna bit in the guardian - it's a weekly watchdog column where she takes companies to task and gets good results - you could probably be more anonymous than in a local paper.

[email protected]

So sorry you have to deal with this.

Pixiefish · 11/09/2006 12:34

I went with her on Friday to ask and they were not particularly helpful or compassionate.

I am worried that if we cause too much trouble they will delete the files.

I've told her to get the 6 x 4 that they're offering before we do anything else.

I cannot believe that they are doing this.

These pictures are gorgeous and show the 4 of them together as a family. In the future these photos will be SO important for YG as she tells her dd's what sort of man their father wsas. And also what kind of father he was and husband.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THESE TOSSPOTS

SpaceCadet · 11/09/2006 12:37

Because the prints are just one copy - from a CD you can print of however many you want and they want you to pay their high charges to have proper prints done.

Have you tried going in there and shamelessly bursting into floods of tears?

katzg · 11/09/2006 12:39

no advice just hope you get this resolved.

if it would help, i'd be happy to buy a larger print of 1 of the photos for your girls.

Tutter · 11/09/2006 12:39

ok, well maybe not legally, but how could they not make an exception given the situation...?

how far away is the other company (that has bought the liquidated company)?

i would go to see the md and refuse to leave til he'd seen me. and threaten with the media.

tissy · 11/09/2006 12:40

who took the photos? Were they "professional" portraits, or snaps that they have for printing?

I think with portraits, the copyright is shared between the photographer and the commissioner.

First comment was about why they don't want you to have the disk but will let you have prints. Nothing excuses the petty nastiness.

SpaceCadet · 11/09/2006 12:40

katzg, what a lovely idea, id be happy to do so too.

Twiglett · 11/09/2006 12:40

ask for at least 10 x 8 prints from them ..

then contact the media

I am totally appalled on your behalf

misdee · 11/09/2006 12:40

katgz, i'd put some towards a large print of the four of them.

SoupDragon · 11/09/2006 12:41

Definitely go to your local paper. It will ruin the photograper's reputation as a "family" photographer.

Littlefish · 11/09/2006 12:43

So would I.

Twinkie1 · 11/09/2006 12:43

Who are they - please tell us and I can assure you none of us will use them again!!!

I know what you mean about phoptos YG I treasure the ones I have of my mother taken just before she died as they are all I have of her - I was too young to remember her otherwise.

Tutter · 11/09/2006 12:43

katzg - so would i

Sorry - that "so would I" was in response to Misdee's post.

I'd be happy to contribute something towards helping to pay for a print.

MrsFio · 11/09/2006 12:44

oh is she beauitful?

YG will they let you buy a copy of prints? Is that what they are saying?

Tutter · 11/09/2006 12:44

ooh that is so gorgeous. i can see why you'd want the photos yg. i'm feeling weepy for you.
