Very cheeky question - how much money do you have coming into your household per week?

I know it's rude and cheeky so ignore me if you want!!

We have about £275 coming in per week wages only.

I'm not counting tax credits or child benefits.

Just hard cash!

Bet you are all coy now!

is this like fios kithcen?

lunavix · 19/05/2006 20:14

After tax, dh and I earn around £579 between us a week. However realistically this is a fair bit less as I'm self employed and doesn't take in account my expenses.

I know we're lucky, however as others have said, we still spend all this, and we both work hard to earn it (I'm not saying others don't! I'm just saying we do!) for example I'm not getting any maternity leave as we simply can't afford it. After we've had baby number 2, it will drop significantly (probably by at least £200 if not more)

We get benefit for one child (although it will be two soon) and no tax credits.

Oh flaming 'ell why did I open my big bleeding mouth!

Yes it's true..but it might not last forever. Money can come and go. He is a very able and talented financial advisor. You probably wouldn't fancy him cod, he is a bit of an arse in other respects bless him.

I do not look the part or act the part btw. You wouldn't guess if you met either of us.

Only posted to illustrate my rather pedantic (sorry SSD) point - that it's may not really be relevent to SSD to compare her situation to others.

handlemecarefully · 19/05/2006 20:26

Oh you see I'm prickly about money - sorry. Makes me all squirmy and uncomfortable.

cod · 19/05/2006 20:27

you can do no wrong

oi hmc if you dress DOWN can you come to lunch sometime anway are oyu on maternity leave?

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 19/05/2006 20:29

dh always said he should have been a financial advisor, I think I will force him to change jobs :o ho ho ho. ds1 shall have his trike :o Poxy lawyers don't earn enough. :o

handlemecarefully · 19/05/2006 20:30

lol!

No I'm not on mat leave, I'm on indefinite leave (have been a SAHM since December)

Come to lunch? well that would be fun but must confess I'm scared you'll find me a bit scruffy (you being such a style goddess) and tell me to get my hair cut. Plus my children do say 'fart' Grin

GDG · 19/05/2006 20:30

Well, I've always said I wanted to meet hmc and that was before I knew she was loaded Grin

Who cares who earns what - I've got friends at both ends of the spectrum and it makes no odds to me. It's what they are like that counts.

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 19/05/2006 20:31

true gdg true :)
